As 2016 draws to a close it is with great sadness for our school to inform you that Ms Toni Johnson has successfully gained a promotion as an instructional leader based at Nabiac Public School. This position will see Toni working with Nabiac School as well as a number of other smaller schools in the local area. Her expertise will benefit all the other schools that she will work with just as it has benefitted our school over the years. Toni is only on secondment for three years and will come back to Hallidays Point PS after that time. Whilst it is a great loss for our school it is certainly a great gain for all the schools she will work with. You will be greatly missed Toni and I am sure that everyone will agree that you have had such a positive impact on so many lives in your role here at this school. We will see you back here in 2020. Unfortunately, overnight (Tuesday 13/12/16) we have had a break-in to our canteen. There has been a significant amount of damage to the front roller door and grill. If over the holidays you happen to see any suspicious activity or people can you inform Forster Police (6555 1299), Taree Police (6552 0399) or School Security (1300 880 021). We have over the past few years had to deal with a number of instances where break-ins have occurred and significant damage has been caused. We have enjoyed plenty of fun activities over the last two weeks and I wanted to thank all the people who put in so much effort to ensure we have smooth and successful end of year celebrations. We are extremely grateful to all the teachers and admin staff who organise such great activities. The Presentation Day assembly was certainly a highlight for me, along with the Year 6 farewell and the fantastic Infants Concert in the morning. All of these activities are planned months in advance to ensure a well- run and fun event. To all our Year 6 students who will be leaving our school at the end of this year, can I wish you all the very best for your future in high school. High School is an amazing place full of opportunities and challenges that will really set them up for future success. Their formal educational journey is more than half way over and I really hope that they enjoy great success into the future. As this is the last newsletter of the year, can I wish everyone a wonderful, happy Christmas filled with joy and time spent with the people who matter. If you are travelling, please take extra care on the roads and we really look forward to seeing you all back next year. Students return MONDAY 30 TH JANUARY 2017.
