The church exists to glorify God by making disciples who exalt God, edify believers, evangelize unbelievers and extend God’s kingdom. My foremost passions in ministry are teaching God’s Word and serving His people. Some of my core values include: 1) Being God centered; 2) Being gospel driven; 3) Being absolutely committed to the Bible’s authority; 4) Explaining and applying Scripture; 5) Emphasizing both doctrinal purity and cultural relevance; 6) Practicing the early church’s motto: “In essentials unity, in non-essentials diversity; in all things love”; 7) Being driven by and balancing all four of God’s purposes for the church; I was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 10, 1953. I grew up in the church and was blessed with a Christian family. When I was in the tenth grade I made sure of my salvation. Shortly thereafter I began to feel a call to ministry and became a youth director at the age of nineteen. My wife, Sherry, also grew up in a Christian family and the church. She made sure of her salvation in high school. We have been married since 1975 and have two grown sons. For the last fifteen years Sherry has been the Director of Little Lights Preschool at Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church. Our son William was born in 1985 and is married and lives in Austin, Texas. Our son Jonathan was born in 1988 and until recently was in college in Moorhead, MN I love books, music, travel, dogs and the Dallas Cowboys.
