TypographyFor our opening credits we wanted to mirror

the genre of the film, i.e. horror therefore we took inspiration from the remake of the popular zombie film ‘Dawn of the Dead’. This films typography uses a ‘blood in water’ effect to fade each of the credits out. The titles are in a blood red conveying violence, horror and gore. The main titles are in a bold font which is very similar to George A. Romero’s ‘Dawn of the Dead’.

Opening CreditsOriginally this was going to be our opening

title

But after listening to the feedback we were given, the audience said that our film had a very realistic look however, the title sequence was too stylised so it ruins the naturalistic effect we have created. We went on to edit the titles and ended with a much simpler but very affective title sequence.

Camera workThis is perhaps one of our most effective camera

angles. The low angle emphasises the characters vulnerability and allows for the audience to see both the victim and the attacker.

This camera shot is almost like the audiences’ point of view and gives the effect that the audience too have fallen onto the floor and are vulnerable.

EditingWhen creating the opening titles, we

used the Screen Grab function in order to make the camera shot more steady and therefore less distracting for the audience. The music we used for the opening credits had a repetitive drum beat which we synchronised with the transitions of the pictures to give a well edited opening sequence.
