The mother/daughter duo judged to resemble each other most will be the cover models and will also win a FREE 8x10 photo together.

THURSDAY, April 5Health Fair. Westside Elementary will hold a Health Fair
on April 5, 6-8 p.m. in the school cafeteria. There is no cost for the event. Booths available will be Dr. Amy Mashburn, blood pressure screening, Dr. Jason McIlvain, dentist, Harrison Memorial Hospital, Wedco, chiropractic tests, the fire house, animal adoptions and more.
Bird Nest Necklace Craft. Thursday, April 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Learn how to make this spring time necklace. All materials provided. Spaces are limited so pre-registration is required. This pro-gram is reserved for our patrons over the age of 16. If you have a pair of needle nose pliers or tweezers bring them.
Blood Drive. Thursday, April 5 from 1-5:30 p.m. on the KBC Bloodmobile at Northside Elementary School, 2417 US 27 N., Cynthiana. Donors will receive a Bleed Blue in the Bayou t-shirt after donating.

Library Bookmobile will be available April 6 at Cynthiana Baptist Daycare at 10:30 a.m.; Shady Lawn, 11 a.m.; Eastside Laundry, 3 p.m.; Grand Haven, 3:15 p.m.
SATURDAY, April 7Frankie Taylor Memorial Easter Egg Hunt. April 7 at 11
a.m. at Ingles Stadium (old HCHS football field) for kids up to age 12. Bring own baskets.
MONDAY, April 9Champion For A Drug-Free Harrison County will meet
Monday, April 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available April 9 in Claysville at 11 a.m.; Leesburg, 2:30 p.m.; Grays Run, 3 p.m.

April 12 from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Harrison County Middle School (parking at the back entrance). Free tests and screenings. New this year will be a complete blood count. Sponsored by Harrison Memorial Hospital, Wedco District Health Department, Harrison County School Systems and Community Education Center, Harrison County Extension Office, and UK Markey Cancer Center.
Library Booth. Visit the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library’s booth on Thursday, April 12 at the Harrison County Health Fair at the Middle School.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available April 13 at Beacon House at 10:30 a.m.; New Beginnings, 11 a.m.; Our Little Miracles, 12 p.m.; Robynwood, 3 p.m.
HCHS Class of 1957. The Harrison County High School Class of 1957 will meet at Bianckes on April 16 at noon. Join classmates for lunch and help plan the 55 year class reunion.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available April 16 at Community Action Childcare Center and Harrison County Adult Care Center at 10:30 a.m.; Hinton, 3 p.m.

Harrison County Conservation District annual meeting will be held April 27 at the Harrison County Extension Office. Every attendee will receive a free seedling. No reservations required for the free dinner. Everyone welcome. For more information call 234-5876.
Women’s Health Issues Seminar. Monday, April 30 at Cynthiana Christian Church. Registration at 5 p.m. Guest speakers begin at 5:30 p.m. The seminar is free and a meal will be provided free of charge to the first 100 registered par-ticipants. Tickets available at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library or the Harrison County Extension Office. For more information call 234-5510.
Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet will now be open on the last Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Closet is located at 103 N. Main (beside Cynthiana Presbyterian Church) and open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Young Farmers. The Harrison County Young Farmers will be meeting in the Harrison County High School ag room on Monday nights at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend.
Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet is now ready with summer clothing and will now be open on the last Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Closet is located at 103 N. Main (beside Cynthiana Presbyterian Church) and open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Christian Faith Center. The Christian Faith Center has opened their clothing closet to the public. All free items, lots of winterwear. Call 859-234-8481 to view items.
Children’s Story Time. Tuesdays at 10 a.m. for age 3 to 5; and at 4:30 p.m. for age birth to 5 at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.
Free Computer Classes. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library is providing free computer classes. Call 234-4881 to find out about class offerings or visit the website at www.cynthianalibrary.org.
On Display. Work of Simon Harris. Come take a look at his barn quilts at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.
LVBPW Meeting. The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women’s meets the second Wednesday of each month at Biancke’s Restaurant at noon, with a guest speaker. Interested and new members are welcome.
Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.
A Veterans Field Representative is available on the third Tuesday of each month at the County Sheriff’s office in Cynthiana from 1-4 p.m. This service is free of charge. Agent Orange registration is also available. For more information or to make an appointment, call 1-800-747-9963.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets the second and fourth Thursdays of every month from 9 to 11:45 a.m. at Indian Creek Christian Church. Come join other moms for food, fun and fellowship. Childcare is provided. For more information call Cassie at 954-0571. Please note that when school is not in session, MOPS meeting is cancelled.

Harrison County Food Pantry. The Harrison County Food Pantry is located at 304 Locust St. (former Cynthiana Police Substation). Open Wednesdays and Fridays

Berry Lions Club meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at the Berry Lions Club Hall at 7 p.m. New members always welcome.
Dog House Recycling. If anyone has a dog house in good condition to donate or know of a dog in need of shelter, contact the Humane Society of Harrison County at 234-1222 or 859-312-1267.

Cynthiana Families Anonymous meeting is held every Thursday from 5-6 p.m. at the Cynthiana Christian Church. Use the Walnut Street entrance to enter the church. Call 859-234-1626 and leave a message for further information.

Harrison County Veterans are eligible for interment in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Ky. Spouses and other eligible dependents may qualify for inter-ment as well. Harrison County Republican Party meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Sheriff’s office, Pike Street.
Harrison County Soil & Water Conservation District meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at the office located at 103 Rodgers Park Dr., Cynthiana. Open to the public.

Narcotics Anonymous meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-8:30 p.m.; and Saturdays from 6-7 p.m. at the St. James A.M.E. at 312 W. Pleasant in the annex.
