Adult Summer Reading: Build a Better World July 1 - August 31 Why should kids have all the fun? Bingo is back with a whole new theme:
new prizes, new bingo cards, new fun things to do! Pick up a bingo card at
the Adult Reference Desk and start earning rewards for doing what you
already do every day! Every “Bingo” you complete will get you an entry into that week’s
drawing. You will also be entered into the grand prize drawing at the end of the summer.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Open to library card holders in any RCLS library, age 17 and
over.

Yoga for Relaxation and Rest
Saturday, July 15, 1:30 pm
At the end of the day we often find ourselves in front of
the TV or phone screen. Light from these screens can
cause disturbance in the brain and subsequent unrestful
sleep. Creating a bedtime ritual of a few easy poses and
stretches can signal the brain that it is time for rest,
helping us enjoy better sleep. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

Introduction to Digital Photography

Learn about digital photography, the terms used, what it
entails, and get hands-on instruction using your own
camera. Two-part series, classes are 2 hours each. Class

A 5-session series for beginners, hosted by Jill Rosenfeld.

Sound Healing
Tuesday, August 15, 6 pm
The human body is affected on a
cellular level by sound vibrations. This workshop explains
the science of sound vibrations, using traditional Tibetan
Singing Bowls. Experience a sound vibration - the teacher
will use the bowls to demonstrate how deep vibrations
can clear the mind and body. Benefits include stress
reduction, muscle and joint relief, and increased
concentration and creativity. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

Haverstraw King's Daughters Main Library in Garnerville
is now a distribution point for Field Goods, a company
which brings you fresh, mostly organic vegetables and
other products from growers and producers throughout
the Hudson Valley and beyond. Staff are already
enjoying this bounty and we invite you to sign up as
well. Take a look at their website, www.field-goods.com,
to see what it's all about, and sign yourself up if it looks
good to you. Pickup at the Library is currently Friday
afternoons, subject to change.

Eclipse Viewing Party Monday, August 21, 10am - 5pm in the Community Room. The eclipse is coming! The eclipse will start at 1:23pm and end at 4:01pm. This viewing
party is the final event in a series of fun and educational activities about this amazing and rare celestial event. Receive free eclipse viewing glasses by attending any of these prior events. Additional glasses will be available, but supplies are limited. View NASA's filming of the eclipse on our large screen! Families welcome, no registration!
Harry Potter Party with Band in a Horcrux! Saturday, July 29, 1:00 - 2:30pm. For ages 6 - 18. Band in a Horcrux is a Harry Potter-themed music duo. Hogwarts house banners will be given out during the concert and kids can make a craft after the concert! Free tickets available at both buildings starting July 17 for HKDPL members and July 24 for everyone else.
Introduction to Guitar with Burr Johnson Thursdays, 7/13 & 8/10, 6:00 - 6:45pm. For all ages. Hear a brief description of the history of guitar and then learn about music styles in which the guitar is prominent. Then pick up a guitar (you can bring your own or use one provided). Burr explains the basics of holding the guitar, playing melodies, strumming chords, and using the pick. Each student moves along at their own individual pace. Experience the joy of guitar playing! Registration is now open.
Music Appreciation with Mr. Burr
Thursdays, July 6 - August 24. Registration is now open for everyone.
9:30 - 10:00am for ages 0 - 18 months Mr. Burr sings, plays his guitar and keyboard and brings props designed to stimulate children and
inspire them to reach out and learn. This class is designed to develop children's motor and socialization skills as they enjoy the magic of music.
10:00 - 10:30am OR 10:30 - 11:00am for ages 18 - 36 months Mr. Burr will use music, fun, and laughter to develop children's motor and socialization skills.

All weekly shows take place in the Village Branch on Wednesdays at 4:00 pm and at the Main Library on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be used at any show at either branch.
