We can’t believe that it’s fall in just a few weeks, which reminds us of our Fall Bazaar! We are giving you all a heads up and a “Save The Date” for Saturday, November 16th, 10:00am -2:00pm. This event is not open to the public but you, your family and

friends are invited! Please get everyone to Save the Date! As always, we will be selling baked goods, preserves, hand made gifts and more! Also, in November, we will be accepting donations for our White Elphant tables. If you are getting rid of any new or gently used items (no clothing please) we will gladly accept your wares! More info to come and Thank you for your support in advance!

Resident Meeting

We value the input of our entire community and hope you will all attend our resident meetings. This is your opportunity to offer suggestions and hear what’s new at Harrison Landing. Join us on Tuesday, September 17th at 11:00am in the TV Lounge. We hope to see you all there!

A Big Thank You to Marvyn Shore for his continued dedication to Harrison Landing and for providing us with Saturday Sing-a-long for the past few years. We appreciate you so much! Thank you for being such a key player and fabulous volunteer at Harrison Landing!

We are saying good bye to Chef Cliff and wishing him well in his new job! We are also welcoming our new head Chef, Morgan! We are always happy to have new staff with new exciting ideas and we hope you will all welcome Morgan with open arms (and Chef Kyla who arrived a few weeks ago)!We continue to value everyone’s “2 Cents” as seen in our suggestion box! Thanks everyone!

What do you think? Every single community is made up of a variety of people and personalities with personal histories/stories. Do you remember growing up and knowing that there were people that you just didn’t talk to about politics, religion, or finances, etc.? You knew you had opposing views and simply avoided those conversations. Now we seem to live in a world where social media has made it the norm to shout your views from the roof tops and tell everyone what you think (whether they want to hear it or not, whether they agree or not). This seems to have squashed our original instinct of “Everyone has the right to their own opinion and everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt.” Why does society seem to no longer extend an olive branch to those with differing opinions? This can be especially challenging when memory loss is added to the mix. A big Thank You to those in the Harrison communities who offer grace to those around them. Thanks to those who recognize that we have all lived a lifetime of experiences that make us who we are today. We should walk a mile in the shoes of others before we have the right to judge them. If anyone is having issues with another resident, please attempt to calmly talk it out or ask a staff member to help you mediate an amicable resolution. Thank You for not allowing issues to escalate. We value & respect everyone in this wonderful Harrison Landing community.
