Our ODE This is the last Rally before our ODE which is to be held at Wandin Park on 27 February. Our Entry Forms are now on the website so please complete yours and send it in promptly. As many of you know, this is one of the largest pony club horse trials run, with around 300 riders competing, so it needs to be efficiently planned and run! As such, this year we are outsourcing the processing of entries and scoring on the day which we hope will assist. However, it is still a HUGE task and as part of your SPC membership, each family is required to provide assistance—regardless of whether your child is competing. Some families regularly volunteer 3 or 4 helpers over many hours and as we need around 240 volunteers for the day and we only have 69 families—you can see that everyone needs to do their bit! Contact Jenni Eggleston or a co-ordinator as listed on page 3 and volunteer for a job before we allocate one to you. Most jobs require no prior knowledge and we will teach you what to do. Some jobs can also be done by our 13 year old plus riders that are not competing. There are also working bees before the event where we need plenty of volunteers. New Requirement: All competitors riding must supply their own back number vest holder. See page 7 order form if you don’t already have one. For those members not competing in our ODE, a Twilight Rally will be held at Wandin Park on Saturday 26 February from 3.00 pm to 5.30 pm. Gear check at 2.45 pm. Diary

Dates Hi all,

Well can you believe it is already 2011, Christmas and New Year came and went so fast! I hope everyone had a nice break and are well rested for the year ahead.

And now we are full steam ahead for the ODE in February, but l will get back to that.

This rally Tracey Kerford will be learning the ropes of DC. Tracey has been so kind to take over the reins and will formally take over at the March rally. Thank you very much Tracey. Maddi and l will still be at pony club but will be competing as much as possible this year.

We have a few new riders at this rally, so if they need any help, please give a hand.

I would like to congratulate our riders who competed at the State Qualifier at W e s b u r n o n t h e 12th December 2010. They all did a fantastic effort: Naomi,

Lyndall, Holly, Ellie, Laura, Hanna, Jacqui, Jarryd and Tiffany. Well done!

Comp Bibs for back numbers have come. Please ensure your name is marked off the list when collected from the office.

We will be running camp again for C Certificate in July. If you don’t have your name down and you are 12 years or over and have not previously sat your C, please do so.

I have made a few changes in groups again so please check your group listing in this newsletter.

At this rally we will move to summer times starting with gear check at 8.45 am sharp. Name tags are now part of gear check so please ensure you have one and wear it. The new ones ordered should be available from the office.

Now back to the ODE. If you have not put your name down to help, make sure you do. The ODE takes a lot of work and the more help, the easier

it is to run. So please ring Jenni Eggleston on 0409 204 984 and the lovely lady will give you a job.

Also BLACK /BLUE Group is now just BLACK.

I would like to say thank you to all of you for the great support l have been given over the last 2 years of being DC, I had no idea what l was doing and you all made it easy and l learnt so much and have made life time friends. So a big thanks and see you at this rally.

Cheers, Kerri Mc
