From amazing new gear, to mounts, to garrisons, and other collectables, there is always something to sink gold into. Luckily, there are even more ways to make tons of gold in game- if you have the right tools and knowledge. That's where this guide comes into play. So let's get started!

The Basics: Historically in WoW, there have always been four general ways to make gold:

• Farming • Professions • Questing/Leveling • Playing the Auction House

With the introduction of the new expansion (WoD), we now have an additional way to make gold:

• Garrisons Does it really “take money to take money”? I don't believe so. There are countless ways to make gold when your nest-egg is nonexistent. However, the difference between

making piles of gold and mountains of gold is usually how much money you have to invest in the good old auction house. If you find yourself in need of some start up gold be sure to read through the beginner strategies. From there you can use that money to invest in the auction house by following some of the more advanced strategies. TIP: The absolute best ways to get rich in WoW are only going to be available to max level characters, this is a fact! Gold Strategies: Without further delay, here are a few of the hands down best ways to earn gold in Warlords of Draenor (patch 6.1).

Farming

Method: Ahn'Qiraj Level Recommendation: 80+ Difficulty: Beginner Approximate Earnings: With typical transmog drops: 4k+. With exceptional transmog drops, an additional 3-60k+. Time Spent: Less than an hour + a small amount of travel time. How To: AQ10 (Ruins) and 20 (Temple) are located in Silithus on Kalimdor. The closest flight path is Cenarion Hold. Both Alliance and Horde can portal to Dalaran, zone into the Caverns of Time via the Violet Citadel, and fly here as well. If you just want to complete the raids for gold, simply zone into each and clear all the trash and boss mobs. Depending on your character level it should not take longer than 20-30 minutes for each. If you want to farm them for a greater chance at the transmog greens you will need to be very careful not to aggro any of the bosses as you go through clearing all the trash (defeating a boss will save you to the raid and start the 3 to 7 day lockout timer). This is most easily done in AQ10. Once the trash is cleared, return to the entrance portal, zone out, and reset the raid by right clicking your character portrait in the upper left hand corner of your screen. Select raids → reset all raids. Confirm the reset and zone back in to continue farming trash. You should be able to reset the raids 10 times an hour before you will be locked out. Collect all drops and sort through them either when your inventory is full or when you are finished. Vendor everything except the gear drops, be especially careful not to vendor the incredibly valuable Glorious, Vanguard, and Lofty gear pieces (they are all green quality). These items should be posted on the auction house for major returns. Glorious Legplates will sell for over 60k on their own on most servers. Some of the lesser sets such as: Impenetrable, Celestial, Warleader's, Magnificent, Exalted, Indomitable, Eternal, and Heroic will still sell for 300-1k gold depending on the piece. If you only have time for one raid, AQ20 (Temple) will be the better of the two in value for time. Not only do you have the same chance at transmog gear, but you can also pick up a few pets for yourself or to sell (most notably the Anubisath Idol), and some additional mounts to your collection. TIP: Travel time cutting into your play time? Set your hearthstone to the Shrine of Two Moons, or Shrine of Seven Stars in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, Pandaria. These hubs have portals to every major city in the game- and your hearthstone is only a 20 minute cooldown. Method: Burning Crusade Raids Level Recommendation: 80+ Difficulty: Beginner Approximate Earnings: 2k + 1-4k additional gold per pet sale for Raiding with Leashes 3. Time Spent: Less than 2 hours + some travel time. How To: Raiding with Leashes 3 is a meta achievement in a popular series of pet collecting achievements where players kill boss mobs in certain raids for a chance at acquiring some

new battle pets. The three raids that contain these new pets are all content from the expansion The Burning Crusade. Clear the following raids by killing all trash and boss mobs. Vendor everything for immediate profit and sell the pets on the auction house. Prices vary per pet and per server but on average will bring in around 1-4k each.

Battle for Mount Hyjal (Hyjal Summit) – Caverns of Time, Tanaris (Kalimdor) Portal from Dalaran to the Caverns of Time via the Violet Citadel. If Cata content was cleared,

take the portal to Uldum from either Stormwind or Orgrimmar and fly through Tanaris to the Caverns of Time.

Black Temple – Shadowmoon Valley (Outlands) Take the portal to Shattrath (Outlands) from the Shrine of Seven Stars or the Shrine of Two

Moons in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, Pandaria and fly through Shadowmoon Valley to the Black Temple. Or find the portal to the Blasted Lands in any city here.

Sunwell Plateau – Isle of Quel'Danas (via Shattrath, Outlands) Take the portal to Shattrath (Outlands) from the Shrine of Seven Stars or the Shrine of Two Moons in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, Pandaria. Or find the portal to the Blasted Lands in

any city here.

Method: Wrath of the Lich King Raids Level Recommendation: 90+ Difficulty: Beginner - Intermediate Approximate Earnings: 3k + materials and battle pets to sell on the AH worth several hundred more gold. Time Spent: 2-3 hours for full clears + travel time How To: The three raids from this expansion that are worth the time to clear each week are Icecrown Citadel, Naxxramas, and Ulduar. For the highest gold return, do these on their 25 man versions (Heroic where applicable). If you are unable to defeat a boss on this setting (Flame Leviathan and Yogg-Saron without helpers can be tough in Ulduar) just switch it back to Normal by clicking on your character portrait in the upper left hand corner of the screen and select Raid Difficulty. You will need to zone out of the raid in order to do this. Vendor everything you pick up with the exception of items such as Crystallized Earth, Frostweave Cloth, pets for the meta: Raiding with Leashes, and any green gems- these should all be sold on the auction house. Take the portal to Dalaran from the Shrine of Seven Stars or the Shrine of Two Moons in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, Pandaria. Or ask for a portal from a mage in /Trade (a small tip of 15-20 gold is usually standard for this service). There is also a boat in Stormwind (at the Stormwind Docks) and a zeppelin in Orgrimmar (zep tower on the plateau north of the Valley of Strength) that travel to Northrend.

Icecrown Citadel – Icecrown (Northrend), located Northwest of Dalaran.

Naxxramas – Dragonblight (Northrend), located South of Dalaran.

Ulduar – The Storm Peaks (Northrend), located Northeast of Dalaran.

Method: Cataclysm Raids Level Recommendation: 100 (90+ is possible depending on class and ability). Difficulty: Beginner - Intermediate Approximate Earnings: 6k+ for vendor items plus more for any transmog items sold at auction. Time Spent: 1 hour + some travel time. How To: Simply clear all the Cataclysm raids listed below on 25 man heroic mode and vendor everything you pick up with the exception of any gear or weapons that have a good aesthetic. These can be price checked and sold on the auction house as transmog items for additional profits. If certain bosses are too troublesome to solo on 25HM, set the instance back to 25 Normal (can be done while inside), defeat the boss, switch it back to HM, and continue with your clear.

Bastion of Twilight – Twilight Highlands (Eastern Kingdoms)

Blackwing Descent – Blackrock Mountain (between the Burning Steppes and Searing Gorge, in the mountains- Eastern Kingdoms)

Dragon Soul – Caverns of Time, Tanaris (Kalimdor)

Firelands – Mount Hyjal (Kalimdor)

Throne of the Four Winds – Uldum (Kalimdor - not necessary, but will net you a few hundred gold more and a chance at the Drake of the South Wind).

TIP: To maximize gold earned per time spent while farming old content, aim for 50 or more free bag slots at the beginning of each raid. This way you don't have to spend extra time deciding which items to keep or toss, and everything can be sold to a vendor or at auction.

Method: Honor Point Conversion Level Recommendation: 10+ Difficulty: Beginner Approximate Earnings: Several hundred gold per hour. Time Spent: Dependent on time spent PvPing and amount of excess honor points. How To: Honor Point accumulation caps at 4k. Once you have purchased all the gear and weapons you want for your character, spend your extra points on an item called the “Brutal Gladiator's Shiv”. This item is only 105 honor and sells at the vendors for nearly 16 gold. If you are sitting on a full cache of honor points this will equate to about 600 additional gold. It is fairly easy to accumulate honor points quickly by doing the daily battleground and participating in honor weekends, where certain BGs will award additional honor for your attendance. There is a 2 hour waiting period before you can successfully sell any PvP item to a vendor for its gold value. The absence of the blue “refund” text at the bottom of the item tooltip will help you know when it is fine to vendor.

Alliance can purchase this item from Lieutenant Jackspring in Stormwind.

Horde can purchase this item from Stone Guard Zarg in Orgrimmar. Method: Battle Pets Level Recommendation: 100 (Can be done at lower levels, but higher levels will have more access to in demand pets). Difficulty: Beginner Approximate Earnings: 1-15k profit per pet, depending on method and server. Time Spent: Dependent on method. How To: There is a huge demand from collectors for battle pets. Some of the best ways to profit from this are to sell the most in demand pets, flip pets on the AH, and level pets to 25. In demand pets are usually those needed to complete achievements, rare drops, or those that are useful for pet battle strategies. Some of these pets include: Servant of Demidos, Eye of Observation, Elekk Plushie, Zandalari Kneebiter, Zandalari Anklerender, Darkmoon Tonk, Darkmoon Zeppelin, Pets needed for Raiding with Leashes 3, Anubisath Idol, Pandaren Water Spirit, Chrominius Flipping pets on the AH is easy once you know which are in demand. Use resources like The Undermine Journal or in game addons to keep track of pricing and buy when pets are listed lower than their average selling price. Repost for profit or level and repost for a considerable boost in profit. Leveling a pet to 25 can add anywhere from 1-3k gold onto the sale price depending on your server. An easy and quick way to level pets is to use the upgrade stones that are rewarded when completing the menagerie pet battle daily in your Garrison, and successfully defeating any battle pet tamer in Draenor. If you have not unlocked the menagerie daily, another option is to use a flying type carry team (2 level 25 flying types and one pet to be leveled) on the wild pets in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms near Mistfall Village.

It should take less than an hour to level a pet to 25 using this spot. Using a Safari Hat and either a Pet Treat or Lesser Pet Treat while battling tamers will greatly reduce the time needed to level pets as well. Method: Trading Post Auctioneer Parts Level Recommendation: 100 Difficulty: Intermediate Approximate Earnings: Upon successful acquisition, between 15 and 18k per unit. Time Spent: Up to the individual. How To: There are 18 individual items that are necessary components of a quest called Auctioning for Parts which unlocks access to an auctioneer that can be used at the Trading Post building in both Horde and Alliance Garrisons. The majority of these are easily obtainable, and therefore not very valuable. However, the items that are required to create the Universal Language Module are still highly desired and will sell for anywhere from 15-18k a piece. The only place to farm these is Ashran, a level 100 only PvP zone located in Draenor. Characters level 92+ can visit their faction outposts (Stormshield [A] / Warspear [H]) in Ashran but cannot participate in the battle. The good news is that all the mobs and lootable players have a chance to drop the three components that make up the language module (Universal Language Compensator, Universal Language Filter, and Universal Language Repository). The drop rate is low, but it is still a worthwhile farm if you happen to enjoy large scale PvP at end game.

TIP: Portable vendors make a great addition to any farmer's arsenal of efficiency items. A few options to consider: Traveler's Tundra Mammoth, Grand Expedition Yak, Jeeves, Walter, Repair Bots 74A and 110G, Guild Page and Herald, and the Argent Squire. Method: Garn Nighthowl Level Recommendation: 100 Difficulty: Intermediate – Advanced depending on size of the party. Approximate Earnings: 7-15k per mount acquisition, price is dictated by server. Time Spent: Hourly How To: Nok-Karosh is a level 102 elite mob found at the Frostboar Drifts in Frostfire Ridge that drops the Garn Nighthowl mount. It is possible to kill this mob in parties of 2-4 with competent players. The basic strategy requires the use of terrain, at least one taunt ability from two players, and at least one hunter (two is best). A group of ranged DPS will be able to do this most easily, no healers are needed.

Use the rock formation located near Nok's spawn (see picture). Player 1 with taunt will stand at the top of the rock formation, while Player 2 with taunt will stand on the ground to the side of the rock formation, Hunters work best in these positions. One player should pull Nok, while players use crowd control abilities on the two adds that will pull with him. A good trick here is to have a Hunter tame one of these and then dismiss it. Nok will then be taunted by Player 1, and just before he reaches Player 1, Player 2 will taunt him. This basically keeps Nok in motion back and forth between these two positions. DPS players in the group should withhold from damage until aggro is firmly established between Player 1 and 2 (about one rotation of Nok bouncing). Garn Nighthowl has a 100% chance to drop in the loot table once Nok is defeated. Players can either server hop using Looking for Group or wait for the respawn. With constant kills in a small group, members can expect to receive 1 to 2 of these mounts to sell per hour. Method: Low to Mid Tier Ore Level Recommendation: Any Difficulty: Beginner Approximate Earnings: Dependent on the materials gathered and server demand. Time Spent: Decided by the player. More time will equal more gold. How To: Gathering professions, such as Mining, can really pay out if you know which materials are either in high demand, or are considered too much of a hassle for most players to want to collect themselves. Some of the most profitable gathering materials are ore. Blacksmiths, Engineers, and Jewelcrafters all depend on ore to level their profession and create worthwhile items. Below is a list of ore to consider farming. Remember to always check your server's auction house pricing before committing the time to traveling and gathering! Ore: Copper: best zones- Durotar, Darkshore Iron: best zones- Western Plaguelands, Feralas Mithril: best zones- Felwood, Burning Steppes Truesilver and Thorium: best zones- Un'Goro Crater, Winterspring Fel Iron: best zone- Hellfire Peninsula (Outlands) Cobalt: best zones- Howling Fjord, Borean Tundra Saronite: best zone- Sholazar Basin

Obsidium: best zones- Mount Hyjal, Vashj'ir Ghost Iron: best zones- Jade Forest, Vale of Eternal Blossoms Method: Ancient Guo-Lai Cache Key/Skyshard Farming Level Recommendation: 90+ Difficulty: Beginner – Intermediate (depending on character level and class). Approximate Earnings: 2k+ materials to sell on the AH, and Skyshards. Time Spent: Hourly How To: In order to make major gold doing this, you will need to prepare by clearing as much bag space as possible and bringing one Potion of Luck for every 20 minutes or Greater Potion of Luck for every hour you plan to spend farming (gold estimates are per hour).

Head to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms in Pandaria (easily accessible if your hearthstone is set to either the Shrine of Two Moons, or the Shrine of Seven Stars). You will want to kill as many Shao-Tien mobs as possible during your potion up time. Some great spots for this are: The Golden Stair, the Ruins of Guo-Lai, and the Guo-Lai Halls. Once your potion buff timer runs out, take your Ancient Guo-Lai Cache Keys (you should have about 30 after an hour of farming) and head into the Guo-Lai Halls. Follow the path until you hit the first large room, make a left and continue on this path until you reach a large room at the end. Activate the blue orb on the left and follow a safe path to the stage area where you will see several large golden chests. Use all of your keys here for more items and gold. This farm will also give you

a chance at Skyshards; once you collect 10 of these you can kill Alani (also in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms) for the Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent mount. If you're not interested in collecting the mount for your own collection, you can sell the Alani kill for tens of thousands of gold for those on your server who do want it. Expect competition on occasion, scout the area before you use your potion. If these areas are being farmed, use the Looking for Group tool to join another party since it will phase you to another server- which will hopefully not be as busy as your native server. Keep server hoping until you find one that will allow you to farm without much hassle. The great part about this method is that a vast majority of the gold made is from vendoring the items you acquire. That means no dealing with the auction house, and it's instant money in your pocket hour after hour. The items you will want to hold on to are the Exotic Leather, Windwool Cloth, Ghost Iron Ore, Black Trillium Ore, White Trillium Ore, and Spirits/Motes of Harmony. Price check these materials before posting on the AH. If you don't want to deal with auctions, just vendor these to boost your instant gold earnings.

Professions

Method: Fishing Level Recommendation: Any character level, 1+ Fishing skill level Difficulty: Beginner Approximate Earnings: 3-10g per fish Time Spent: As long or short as you like. How To: Travel to the Northern Barrens on Kalimdor. Don't forget to train your fishing skill before you leave (and clear plenty of bag space)! There are three small lakes that contain Deviate Fish: The Forgotten Pools, Lushwater Oasis, and the Stagnant Oasis. The Horde have a slight advantage in travel time here, but both factions can fish in these waters. If you are on a PvP realm you might consider zoning into the Wailing Caverns instance (located near the Lushwater Oasis) to fish from the pools of water within instead. If you are appropriately leveled for the instance (15-25), another option is to use the Looking for Group tool and queue specifically for WC. Once your group has cleared the instance you can hang around and get some fishing time in.

These locations will yield about a 30% catch rate of Deviate Fish at a fishing skill of 50 or higher. Bring lures, such as Nightcrawlers, if your skill level is below 50 and you would like to start catching them right away. Lures can be purchased from fishing trainers and trade supply/goods vendors within any large quest hub or city. Deviate Fish are used in the recipe

“Savory Deviate Delight” and tend to sell well on the auction house as a raw low level material for this reason. They are also very cheap to post, making them an all around great money maker for lowbies.

Method: Blacksmithing Level Recommendation: Any character level, 180+ Blacksmithing skill level Difficulty: Intermediate Approximate Earnings: Several hundred to several thousand per craft, depending on skill level and demand. Time Spent: Dependent on skill level and desired craft. How To: If your blacksmithing skill is low level there are certain sets and extra pieces that will still hold value in the auction house for players interested in transmog. Always be sure to check your server's AH before committing to craft and sell! Sets/pieces to consider and skill level requirements below. Sets: Green Iron (180) – shoulders, hauberk, guantlets, leggings, boots Golden Scale (205+) - shoulders, cuirass, gauntlets, leggings, boots Ornate Mithril (220-245 skill level) - shoulders, breastplate, pants, boots Truesilver* (245-290) – breastplate, gauntlets, girdle of the dawn (belt), runic plate boots Dark Iron (280-300) – shoulders, plate, bracers, guantlets, leggings, boots Radiant (300+) - breastplate, gloves, belt, leggings, boots Enchanted Thorium (300) – helm, breastplate, leggings Fel Iron (325) - breastplate, gloves, belt, pants, boots Enchanted Adamantite (355-360) – breastplate, belt, leggings, boots Flamebane (350-365) – breastplate, gloves Felsteel (350-365) - gloves, leggings End game blacksmiths (600-700) should craft the Truesteel Ingots and Secrets of Draenor Blacksmithing recipes daily in order to accumulate the materials required to craft entry level epics and upgrade items. The Riddle of Truesteel, Powerful Truesteel Essence, and Powerful Steelforged Essence recipes can be purchased from the traveling vendors Alexi Hackercam [A] or Trixxy Volt [H] in a level 3 Town Hall. Different trade vendors will appear on different days of the week, using the Looking for Group- Custom Group feature will help you locate these vendors if they do not spawn in your Garrison on their visiting day. Entry level epics will sell between 1-3k each while the higher tier upgrade items will sell in the 10k - 20k range. Keeping work orders running at a Forge in any level Garrison will reduce the time it takes to collect these materials by supplying you with additional materials on a daily basis. Equip a follower with the Blacksmithing trait to the Forge for an even greater material yield on work orders.

Entry Level Epics: Truesteel – armguards, boots, breastplate, guantlets, greaves, helm, pauldrons, waistguard Steelforged – dagger, hammer, saber, shield, aegis, axe, greataxe Upgrade Items: Truesteel Essence, Greater Truesteel Essence, Powerful Truesteel Essence Steelforged Essence, Greater Steelforged Essence, Powerful Steelforged Essence *These recipes are no longer available to obtain in game, however, blacksmiths that have these recipes already may continue to craft these items.

Method: Leatherworking Level Recommendation: Any character level, 120+ Leatherworking skill level Difficulty: Intermediate Approximate Earnings: Several hundred to several thousand per craft, depending on skill level and demand. Time Spent: Dependent on skill level and desired craft. How To: Low level Leatherworkers have a few options to make money by crafting desirable transmog gear sets and miscellaneous pieces that players are looking for. Always be sure to check your server's AH before committing to craft and sell! Sets/pieces to consider and skill level requirements below. Sets: Dusky (120-280) – armor, leggings Green Dragonscale (260-300) – breastplate, gauntlets, leggings, hands Frostsaber (285-300) – tunic, gloves, leggings, boots Black Dragonscale (290-375) – shoulders, breastplate, leggings, boots, gloves (Nerubian), belt (Nerubian) Wild Draenish (330) – vest, gloves, leggings, boots Fel Leather (330-350) – gloves, leggings, boots, breastplate (Primalstorm) Felstalker (350-360) – breastplate, belt Heavy Clefthoof (355-360) – vest, leggings, boots Overcast (425) – headguard, spaulders, chestguard, handwraps, belt, leggings, boots Misc: Stylin' Adventure Hat (350) End game Leatherworkers (600-700) should craft the Burnished Leather and Secrets of Draenor Leatherworking recipes daily in order to accumulate the materials required to craft entry level epics and upgrade items. The Spiritual Leathercraft and Powerful Burnished Essence recipes can be purchased from the traveling vendors Jake the Fox [A] or Zeezu [H] in a level 3 Town Hall. Different trade vendors will appear on different days of the week, using the Looking for Group- Custom Group feature will help you locate these vendors if they do not spawn in your Garrison on their visiting day.

Entry level epic gear pieces will sell between 1-3k each while the higher tier upgrade items will sell in the 10k+ range. Keeping work orders running at a Tannery in any level Garrison will reduce the time it takes to collect these materials by supplying you with additional materials on a daily basis. Equip a follower with the Leatherworking trait to the Tannery for an even greater material yield on work orders. Entry Level Epics: Supple – boots, bracers, gloves, helm, leggings, shoulderguards, vest, waistguard Wayfaring – belt, boots, bracers, gloves, helm, leggings, shoulderguards, tunic Burnished Cloak – nimble, brilliant, powerful Upgrade Items: Burnished Essence, Greater Burnished Essence, Powerful Burnished Essence

Method: Tailoring Level Recommendation: Any character level, 1+ Tailoring skill level Difficulty: Intermediate Approximate Earnings: Several hundred to several thousand per craft, depending on skill level and demand. Time Spent: Dependent on skill level and desired craft. How To: Tailoring has several great ways to make gold at various skill levels. Some skill level options include viable transmog pieces and sets, shirts, and bags. Always be sure to check your server's AH before committing to craft and sell! Gear, shirts, and bags to consider are listed below. Sets: Black Mageweave (205-230) – headband, shoulders, vest, gloves, leggings, boots Red Mageweave (215-455) – vest, gloves, leggings (Flarecore), boots (Deathsilk) Dreamweave (225) – vest, gloves Cindercloth (260-280) – vest, pants Spellfire (355-375) – robe, gloves, belt Frozen Shadoweave (355-375) – shoulders, robe, boots Battlecast (375) – head, pants Primal Mooncloth (355-375) – shoulders, robe, belt Whitemend (375) – hood, pants Misc: Blue Overalls (100) Tuxedo Set (240-250) Shirts (1-400) Bags (315-600) - Bags less than 16 slots are unlikely to sell.

End game Tailors (600-700) should craft the Hexweave Cloth and Secrets of Draenor Tailoring recipes daily in order to accumulate the materials required to craft entry level epics and upgrade items. The Primal Weaving and Powerful Hexweave Essence recipes can be purchased from the traveling vendors Dorothy “Two” [A] or Calvo Klyne [H] in a level 3 Town Hall. Different trade vendors will appear on different days of the week, using the Looking for Group- Custom Group feature will help you locate these vendors if they do not spawn in your Garrison on their visiting day. Entry level epic gear pieces will sell between 1-3k each while the higher tier upgrade items will sell in the 10k+ range. Keeping work orders running at a Tailoring Emporium in any level Garrison will reduce the time it takes to collect these materials by supplying you with additional materials on a daily basis. Equip a follower with the Tailoring trait to the Tailoring Emporium for an even greater material yield on work orders. Method: Enchanting Level Recommendation: Any character level, 1+ Enchanting skill level Difficulty: Intermediate - Advanced Approximate Earnings: Potential to become a great source of steady income with mid to high tier skill level. Time Spent: Can be time consuming at first, but quick once the basic concepts are understood. How To: The two best ways to make gold with the Enchanting profession is to disenchant mid to high tier gear and weapons for the dust, essence, and shards, and by creating end game enchants (particularly for weapons). Check your auction house for the price per item on materials like Hypnotic, Illusion, and Vision Dust. Don't limit yourself to just those materials though. To make the most from this method, use these charts of conversions to get an idea of how to purchase gear/weapons for the purpose of disenchanting. The basic concept here is to buy cheaply priced gear and weapons, disenchant them, and post the materials on the AH for greater than what you paid to make a profit. This is why it is important to price out the materials before you invest your gold into buying items to convert. Tailoring is often times picked up as a second profession to use synergistically with Enchanting because you can disenchant the items you craft. If you farm older content raids (see the “Farming” section of this guide), you will most likely have plenty of cloth to use for this purpose. Addons like TradeSkillMaster and Auctioneer can assist you by providing pricing information specific to your AH in game. Quality of Life addons, such as Postal and Bagnon, can increase

your efficiency by helping you to retrieve large quantities of items from your mailbox quickly, and locate them across your characters easily. End game weapon enchants seem to hold their value even as an expansion ages, so be sure to check pricing on those items if your Enchanting is level 700.

TIP: Advertising your ability to craft different transmog gear pieces by linking your profession in /Trade chat during peak hours is a great way to generate more business.

Questing/Leveling Method: Questing to Level Level Recommendation: 1-100 Difficulty: Beginner Approximate Earnings: 20-30k (if leveling a new character, and after training most flying skills). Time Spent: Dependent on player knowledge, resources, skill, and various XP boosts. How To: Leveling a character (or two, or three...) to max level in any expansion is the best way to earn gold in WoW. This is partly because quest rewards scale as you gain level throughout the game; meaning more gold per turn in as you level higher, and better rewards that are worth more at the vendor. But the real reason this is the best way to make gold is because being max level unlocks your ability to farm and craft end game items that will consistently bring in large amounts of gold. So, while questing itself can bring in a decent amount of gold per toon, the more toons you have at level 100, the more opportunities you will have to make thousands of gold easily every week. Leveling via questing from 1-90 will bring in around 10-13k depending on whether or not you purchase the ability to fly in Northrend and Pandaria. Being able to fly in these zones will make leveling much quicker. From 90-100 you can expect to gain 10-15k, but most (if not all) of that gold will go into bringing your Garrison up to level 3. You can skip doing this, however it is not recommended as a max level Garrison will help you continue to make gold (See “Garrisons” section for more details). Farming old raids weekly on just one max level character can bring in well over 10k in a few hours time- imagine if you had just 1 or 2 additional characters to do that with each lockout period. If you decide to invest in leveling a profession, more characters with professions means you can produce more types of end game items to sell for some really incredible gold returns. As of 6.1, end game upgrade items, such as the “Powerful Essences”, that can be crafted relatively hassle free, are selling for 10-25k a piece.

TIP: Listen to music, a streamer, or get invested in the story as you quest throughout Azeroth and beyond to really make time fly.

Playing the Auction House

Method: Item Flipping Level Recommendation:100 Difficulty: Intermediate - Advanced Approximate Earnings: Dependent on player investment, knowledge, and time spent monitoring sales and competition. Has the potential to earn thousands of gold daily without the need for farming. Time Spent: Time consuming; the most successful players will participate in monitoring the AH daily. How To: Being able to buy low and sell high on the auction house boils down to a few things: availability/quantity of investment funds, knowledge of class stats/ best in slot BoEs/raw material demand/upcoming changes to the game, history of successful sale prices, and consistency in time spent monitoring the auction house for opportunities to snag a deal. There is a staggering amount of information to learn if you really want to play the AH well, so I suggest starting small and testing the waters with one or two sub-markets (such as consumables or enchants) if you are new to the game, or perhaps simply have no previous experience flipping items. When you have a better base of knowledge, it is most profitable to look into multiple markets daily. A few resources you will need to be successful: -Gold Guide: Such as this one, Tycoon, or Dugi to help you find ways to start a healthy gold fund (needed to purchase items for resale). -Resource for class information such as stat priority (this knowledge will help you to make smarter choices when purchasing or crafting items for sale): Icy-veins, and/or Noxxic. -Resource for information on professions such as Wowhead (to figure out what materials are needed for desirable crafts).

-Information on upcoming changes to the game: mmo-champion, wowhead, and patch notes (this will help you anticipate changes in demand so that you can take advantage of periods of high earning potential). -Some great addons to help you track AH prices, post quickly, and scan for items that are listed as undervalue in game: Auctioneer, TradeSkillMaster. -Resources that can help you monitor what is going on in the AH while you are not in game: The Undermine Journal, Armory for Android, Armory for iOS Flipping AH items for profit is a simple concept, but to be successful, you really must put in the time to do the research that is needed to learn the game in detail. Another layer to playing the auction house is learning how to spot deals in /Trade and negotiate with players for reduced pricing, which you can then take and post on the AH for a higher selling price. You can also use multiple characters to create your own competition when posting for slower moving items. Posting an item for X value with one, and for less than X on another (but still within your margin of profit) will give the illusion of a better deal in the consumer's mind. Creating a network of suppliers is extremely helpful as well. If you notice certain players posting great deals on materials that will sell easily, reach out to them with a /whisper or in-game letter and try to strike a deal where they will send you their items at listing value for cash on delivery (C.O.D.) via in game mail instead of posting to the AH. This is beneficial for them because they don't have to pay the AH fees to post, which increases their profit margin- and you get greater control over the market and additional materials to sell. Being observant of the price per item information can help you bring in some extra gold as well; buy a large stack of an in demand material and break it down into smaller stacks with a higher per item price. When you learn what materials are being used for what crafts specifically, you can create material stacks of the exact number you know players will be looking for- this is a great way to bring in the highest price per item that your market will support. And finally, remember that any size profit is money made. Working with quantity of sales is what will bring in steady income day to day- so don't hold out for big ticket items exclusively!

TIP: Don't forget to loot everything! If you find yourself running low on inventory space make an additional character to help you hold on to things of value until they can be sold at auction. Keeping a portable mailbox, such as the engineer's MOLL-E, will make it even easier to send valuables to your bank alt while you are between quest hubs.

Garrisons Method: Follower Missions (Gold and Garrison Supplies) Level Recommendation: 100 Difficulty: Beginner Approximate Earnings: Several hundred gold daily. Time Spent: Less than 10 minutes. How To: There are 10-20 garrison missions available every day at the command table in your Town Hall or Great Hall. Many of these will reward gear, gold, garrison supplies, and items used to reroll your follower's traits and abilities. In order to make a bunch of gold passively each day, you will need to prepare your followers properly. Level as many of your followers to epic quality as possible. Equip them with upgraded weapons and armor to unlock higher level missions (current ilvl max is 675). Use Follower Retraining Certificates (garrison mission reward) and Follower Trait Retraining Guides (purchased from Sergeant Crowler [A], and Sergeant Grimjaw [H] in your garrison) to get followers with the Scavenger and Treasure Hunter traits. The more followers you have with these traits the more potential you have to earn hundreds of gold with the following strategy. Assign followers with the Treasure Hunter trait to missions that reward gold, and followers with the Scavenger trait to missions that reward garrison supplies (don't forget to pay attention to the mission success rate though). Both of these abilities stack, so that is why it is worth having many followers with these traits. A 3 follower garrison mission that rewards 200 gold base will reward 600 gold if you assign 3 followers with the Treasure Hunter trait to complete it. Completing missions that reward gear and weapons is another way to make some gold. You can activate the tokens received upon mission completion and vendor them for 20-50 gold a piece. If you do not have a Trading Post in your garrison, then garrison supply missions will not be as much of a priority for you. See the “Trading Post” method of this guide for information on how to make tons of gold from your surplus supplies.

Method: Trading Post Level Recommendation: 100 Difficulty: Beginner - Intermediate Approximate Earnings: Several hundred gold daily. Time Spent: Less than half an hour. How To: The Trading Post building occupies a medium plot and can be upgraded three times, however, you only need the first tier to make extra gold from your excess garrison supplies. If you followed the method in the “Follower Missions” section of this guide, you will more than

likely be looking for a way to spend those garrison supplies that keep piling up (they are limited to 10k per character). Each day a traveling vendor will be accessible via your Trading Post. Depending on the vendor, you may pay more or less in supplies per materials on any given day. I suggest spending a large amount of your garrison supplies by trading them to the vendor that gives you the best price for each material. Stock up on items such as Sumptuous Fur, Blackrock Ore, True Iron Ore, Draenic Dust, and Raw Beast Hide - they are all used in crafting. Before you make any purchases, check pricing on your auction house! Selling these materials will bring in several hundred gold. You can even use the Trading Post to generate more garrison supplies by placing work orders at the designated NPC.

Method: Barn (level 3) Level Recommendation: 100 Difficulty: Beginner Approximate Earnings: Several hundred gold daily. Time Spent: Less than an hour. How To: Once you complete the achievement “Master trapper”, you will be able to upgrade your barn to it's final tier (level 3). You will want to do this if you need Savage Blood for crafting, or if you are looking to make a few hundred gold for the sale of each. In order to receive Savage Blood from your barn you must have work orders placed by trapping level 100 elite monsters such as the Wetland Trampler, Ironhide Bull, and Direfang Alpha, all of which can be found in Nagrand. Each work order has a 15% chance to reward you with a Savage Blood in addition to the standard return of Raw Beast Hide or Sumptuous Fur (depending on your trapped mob). If you have a follower assigned to your barn you will receive more hide or fur per order but no boost in chance at bloods. The average price of Savage Blood is recorded at about 300 gold each. If you are a pet collector, the Pygmy Cow battle pet can be obtained by interacting with a glass of warm milk that randomly spawns in the barn.

Method: Salvage Yard (level 3 recommended) Level Recommendation: 100 Difficulty: Beginner Approximate Earnings: Dependent on how many follower missions are completed daily. Time Spent: Less than an hour. How To: The Salvage Yard occupies a small plot in your garrison. Each tier of this building will give you a chance upon follower mission completion to receive a bag or box that can be opened for various items. It is worth it to upgrade this building to it's final level (3) if you intend to send followers out on missions daily. Bags of Salvaged Goods, Crates of Salvage, and Big Crates of Salvage will contain vendor junk, BoE gear and weapons of all qualities, transmog items, and item level 665 BoEs which command a good price on the auction house. Level 2 and 3 Salvage Yards will also allow

follower gear and weapon upgrades to drop from these containers. In order to make an extra hundred or two gold each day, vendor everything you receive from opening these containers, unless it is a desirable transmog or high item level epic BoE.

Final Thoughts: As you play through the game, you will likely develop a preference for how you play that will dictate how you enjoy making your gold. If you end up loving dungeon and raid content, connect with your fellow gamers and form a group that can run others through high end raids or challenge modes for great gold. If you love to participate in battlegrounds, form a team and sell rating. If you find that you thrive and are skilled at arena style PvP, sell match wins to others looking to increase their rank. There are countless ways to gain gold; the tips in this guide are meant as a starting point for you to make a good amount of gold quickly- not as a limitation on how to make it.
