The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, which means its all about

perspective, right? Well, no matter which side of the fence you stand on, Lockwood’s growing some green grass!

If you watch the news or pick up any newspaper it seems all you hear about is doom and gloom. Yes, it’s a

bad financial climate. Yes, it’s unclear where it will lead. But like a few other forward-thinking organizations, Lockwood is strategizing to not just survive, but grow during a time when few companies dare to think so boldly.

“Sustainable ” is an adjective that comes to mind when I think about Lockwood. It’s not news that world

industry leaders have turned to us for over thirty years to meet their valve needs. We have been successfully involved in sectors other than Downstream for that same amount of time.

We are about to branch out (Lockwood Consolidated Services) and drive down

many paths to continue to grow our business. We are spreading the news

of our valve management efficiency and massive instock inventory and will grow these other sectors of our business.

Words like “Upstream”, and “Power” are becoming part of our operations and service

offerings. Yes, we can and have managed massive and small projects, but we can MRO the pants off our competition. We not only know valves, but we share that knowledge with our clients. We do valves and we do valves very well.

So, in this financial uncertainty, we see an opportunity. We will expand and grow, and continue

to serve our clients with the ultimate in customer care. We will maximize both our customer’s spend and our own, and provide value added services beyond compare. It’s pretty simple.

Hello Lockwood! Finally, Spring is here and it appears

we are off to a very good start in 2009.

In this edition we talk about

Quarter-turn valves and get to know

Lockwood’s “Quarter-turn man”, Randy

Wilson; we learn about the Motiva

Project; and Value has ended up the

overall theme. Sarnia, Canada is the

branch spotlight and we hear from all

the branches, including meeting our

crew in Singapore via photos. Lockwood

is busy “growing” and is forging full

“Character is always lost when a high ideal is sacrificed on the altar

of conformity and popularity”.

From Mike Lockwood

Hello, everyone. Spring is definitely in the air. As a company, we are transforming and blossoming into a fuller and stronger organization. We have initiated a number of

improvement ideas. First, we have created a shared services group to better support all of our sister companies. Second, we have appointed our highest performers to lead their respective divisions and companies. Finally, we have positioned ourselves in the marketplace to continue our momentum and expansion.

While I am very proud of our growth and performance; I am most inspired and in awe of the quality and professionalism of our people. As we continue to work at a feverish pace and

create record setting results, we do so while maintaining our dignity, class, and humility. We have faced both internal pressure managing the ever mounting workflow, as well as external stress generated by a media machine that continues to berate us with negative economic news. I keep saying to myself, “if business is supposed to be so bad, why are we so ‘dog gone’ busy?” The reality is that you, our group, have done a magnificent effort of staying cool under pressure and have done a first rate job. As a result, the market is rewarding us with new, exciting opportunities. These opportunities stem from the integrity and character of our individuals and of our company as a whole. In the end, business models, philosophies, and strategies are very important; however, the principles and character of our personnel are the seeds and nourishment that provides our growth.

Thanks to All,

Mike Lockwood

I would first like to mention that I am very

excited to be named President of Lockwood International. I am looking forward to working with each and every one of you as we face new challenges ahead.

Rest assured most of our core business strategies will not be changing. They will,

however, become more aggressive as we position ourselves to weather the current economic cycle.

One of our first orders of business is to welcome Mark Lindsey and Steve

Schwarzbach. Mark has taken the helm at Lockwood Consolidated Services as the Chief Financial Officer. Steve has joined Lockwood International as the new Director of Process Development. He will be working to develop and improve processes and efficiency.

Both Mark and Steve have very impressive backgrounds, and experience in corporate

management. They will be visiting each department in the next few weeks to meet everyone and begin learning more about our business.

With Bobby Mauldin as our new Sales Manager, Donna Wells as our Production

Manager, Steve Schwarzbach as our new Director of Process Development, Mark Lindsey as our new Chief Financial Officer, and our new Corporate Improvement Plan announced last month, we will be able to focus all of our efforts on our core business strategies and continue to build our company as the leader in the valve industry.

Best Regards,

PRODUCTIONDonna Wells was recently named Lockwood International’s new Production manager. She reports they are working on implementing the RFID-asset (radio frequency identification) which is bar coding of our products. It will greatly reduce paper use and errors and improve overall efficiency and speed. We’ll keep you posted.

Donna WellsProduction ManagerLockwood International, Inc.

Through Quality and Safety, we ensure our clients that we meet all statutory and regulatory requirements, support zero accident values, manage costs and risks, and continuously improve our processes and methods for consistent, measurable, and repeatable Quality on every project. These promises play significant roles in our ongoing efforts to improve any misconceptions within our company and increase the number of outstanding recognitions we already receive. So keep in mind that we need to systematically be listening to our clients’ concerns and work with each other to improve processes and procedures that change the way we work, with that we will increase our ability to provide fast, dependable, expert service our customers need to successfully address their day-to-day challenges, while achieving their most vital business and strategic objectives.

A wise man once told me that you can solve most of

life’s problems by thinking of a scale—you need balance. I will work hard to maintain that balance with this new position. I will give 100% to assist the inside sales team with the success of every current and

all future jobs. I will diligently coordinate with the outside sales staff to make certain that all projects

run efficiently.

Everyone is aware of the market conditions; we have to be smarter and work harder than the

competition. I know that we all are dedicated to further developing and maintaining our position as one of the leading valve suppliers in the world. We shall achieve this goal by professionally exceeding the needs of our customers to ensure that we remain their first and only choice for valves. I look forward to the challenge.

As is the rest of the world, Lockwood is looking to reduce unnecessary

spending while maintaining maximum value. From the products we purchase and use at home to our use of Lockwood resources, we should always be looking for ways to save. Betty says, “I would welcome suggestions from Lockwood employees on ways that we can realize a cost savings while maintaining maximum

value.”

In that same

spirit, Betty is coordinating an onsite meeting

(Corporate Headquarters) with Trustmark Bank to look at their service offering that some of our Houston employees might appreciate. The program offers services such as free checking with direct deposit, ATM cards with no fees at any ATM in the City of Houston and payroll deducted savings using direct deposit. They also offer a direct deposit of payroll to debit cards for individuals with credit issues. The debit cards also offer on line bill pay. Announcements will be forthcoming once that is confirmed.

Betty also reports departmental budgets are now in place and is

currently working with IT to develop an AP distribution by department. This will allow managers to monitor their

expenses and analyze variances closer.

Mrs. Allen reports that

the seminar offered in January entitled “Taking Control” (of your personal finances) was apparently a good investment of time and had a good turn out. With Betty’s financial background it is impossible for her to not continue to gently caution anyone regarding personal financial preparation. The old adage, “nothing is certain but death and taxes” it’s true.

We sat with John Egliht (Project Manager for Motiva) to find out about this massive

project. John explains that “all of Lockwood has been involved in this project, not just Houston; Beaumont, Baton Rouge, Charlotte, Montreal, plus departments such as Quality and Technical have all contributed.

John runs through some of the Corporate personnel involved. “Bobby Mauldin

oversees this project, as he does all Lockwood projects. Mikki Talbott and Joann Thornton are responsible for all order entry, coordinating shipping and communicating valve status as the Project Sales Coordinators.” Kay Jimmerson and her crew from Documentation have contributed, as has Shannon Baumbach with shipping/receiving and documentation. Warehouse men include Alex Flores, Caesar Vargas, and Damien Turknett (Supervisor). John says “they have all done a fantastic job as this project is always busy and they help to keep it running smooth.”

“One of the challenges

we’ve faced was initially all deliveries were direct to Port Arthur but that was changed. Lockwood now ships the valves direct. These locations include: Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina, Maine, Mexico and Turkey.”

John says, “we ship a wide range of sizes, from 1/2”—48” in carbon, chrome, stainless

steel, and other alloys. An extraordinary number of bellow seals has been required (thousands) due to the low emission ratings.” (The refinery is to be a world class refinery with marked reduction in emissions).

“We are also sewing up a marshalling project to receive, store, and ship product on behalf

of Bechtel.”

Some fast facts about this project:

* largest in Lockwood history

* 70,000 and counting on valves shipped

* over 30,000 PMI shots

* over 700,000 pages of MTRs

3/12/09Shaw, Stone & Webster was onsite at Corporate Headquarters for valve training per invitation of Tony Freeman. Tony delivered and orchestrated the presentation by Terry Choi, Laura Fitzgerald and Steve Shubnell, of “Valve 101” and “ Ordering Lockwood Valves” followed by a tour of our warehouses. We hope to release the educational series on CD in the coming months and all branches and locations can coordinate with customers on how/when to deliver such training.

Winter is over and Lockwood’s Chicago office enters the new season—construction

season. With a new approach of Anne Vickery handling local accounts and end users, and Matt Cassidy going after EPC’s we are looking for a very interesting year ahead. With the financial situation it seems that many customers in the Midwest are finally looking for strong and well run partners for their valve supply and we are going to fill that need. As the weather improves we are counting on business to as well, from companies like Conoco, Murphy Oil, Kiewit Power, Burns & McDonnell and others.

Tomoe (pronounced toe-moe-ee) was founded in 1953 in Osaka, Japan.

The face of Tomoe appeared as Rob Fishbourne, in our Lockwood Corporate Headquarters offices in March 2009. Rob is Tomoe’s U.S. sales representative who more than once talks about how happy he is to be partnering with Lockwood International. Rob said “from the moment I first met both Mike and Tom Lockwood, I was totally captivated by the vision and forward thinking of these two Texas Gentlemen. I have been in the valve industry for over 23 years and seeing the Lockwood operation in Houston for the first time, just took my breath away, I’ve never seen so many valves in any one location in my entire life! I have since met many of the Lockwood staff in Houston, and rarely have I witnessed such a commitment to a common cause, and seen so many similarities in terms of the work ethics

R

of our two companies, where customer service and commitment to quality are held in such high regard. Both Tomoe and I are truly

honored to be associated with Lockwood International.

My plans over the coming months are to travel to all of the Lockwood locations in both the United States and Canada to get to meet everyone and to

hopefully do some product training with them.” It truly is a “match made in heaven.”

Cindy Williams decides to talk about the men behind the scenes, as far as MRO/Branch support and service. The men she is referring to are Thomas Baker and his crew, Will Sewell, Chris Green, Vince Perez and Gilbert Rocha. Cindy explains that these guys are known for their speed, accuracy and tenacity. Day in, day out order after order is submitted and our job is to fill it quickly and correctly, which they don’t disappoint. They are responsible for Houston MRO, Texas City MRO, all sold goods branch transfers, along with short sales and shipping of all. Cindy calls them part of her branch team, even though they report to Donna Wells, they are integral to a successful MRO operation. The climate of MRO is consistently different. What I mean by that is different customers, different inspections, different valves, different requirements. You’ve got to be ready for anything and everything, and usually all at once. This team is cross trained and can cover each other to ensure the pace of MRO is never slowed by them. Cindy says “it is a hardworking team that does it right. They are a very conscientious group”. She says the last QIT meeting with our client resulted in the reporting of one drop location error within the last three months. Of course the goal is always zero, however one is outstanding. We tip our hats to you, gentlemen. You add value to our company.

In 1977, Lockwood

International was “born” in the Energy Sector providing

valves to the petroleum refineries in the Houston market. Today, we continue our involvement in this sector with the supply of manual, actuated and critical service valves to the power generation industry, its engineers, constructors and OEMs.

Our customer and project list continues to grow throughout the East Coast,

Midwest and Canada. Long valued

relationships in the petro market with such Fortune 100 companies as Bechtel, Fluor, Foster Wheeler, Shaw Group and URS Washington Group are being expanded to include their involvement with their engineering and construction offices developing grassroots power plants, unit modernizations and “back-end” technologies.

At present, our “power” business development group can be found

traveling throughout the Carolinas, Mid-Atlantic States, New England and Canada offering the industry an ever expanding representation of quality driven products and services. Our cadre of personnel is

growing, eliciting the assistance of some of Lockwood’s finest including Tony Freeman in Houston, Matt Cassidy in Chicago and Cliff Houk in Los Angeles. Always in the forefront is Laura Fitzgerald’s Marketing Group developing marketing material at a moment’s notice.

As the E&Cs respond to meet the nation’s power generation needs,

our company’s commercial and technical expertise, inventory and financial strength make us a perfect partner for the industry’s cost and time sensitive projects. It’s all about team work and we are proud of how the Lockwood team works!

LOCKWOODI N T E R N AT I O N A L , INC.

We’ve welcome Terry to Lockwood in our past issue, but feel it would be beneficial to expand on his experience, expertise, and how he has been

(and will be) spending his time and talents here at Lockwood. His title is Technical Engineer and his main purpose is to assist in all technical and design issues involving our customers and our suppliers.

Terry was raised in Korea until the age of 15 when he moved with his parents and two sisters to Edmonton, Canada. In junior high Terry learned English and

had a knack for mechanics. He earned his Mechanical degree at the University of Alberta. As all engineers do, he felt he would one day be designing for either the airline or auto industry as he studied aerodynamics and combustion in college.

He first met Lockwood through Universe Machine in Canada where he was Design Engineer for 5 years. Any customer requested modifications

(cryogenic, actuation, NACE trim, etc.) went through him. He also designed and sold valve testers for Suncor, Syncrude and Shell. He left there to join FlowServe as Engineering/QA Manager for their Canada operations (control valves). Terry and his wife decided to pursue a warmer climate, and a “warmer climate” they certainly got when he accepted the position at Lockwood! Although he did travel some in his previous jobs he and his wife hadn’t experienced Texas until September 2008; two weeks later Hurricane Ike hit (wasn’t that fun?). Following that he spent some

time in Canada and returned to Houston in time to experience our snowfall! (YES, Canada - Houston got maybe 1/4” dusting of snow!)

Terry just returned from his fourth trip to Korea for Lockwood, this one being a month

long stay where he conducted business with TY and Ilshin. His trips are absolutely jam packed as he handles issues and requests from various departments and always has a long laundry list of items that need to be addressed when he goes. When asked who he deals with at the foundries he said “everyone”. He communicates with everyone from the President to the guys doing the pours. Korea is hardly in our time zone (14 hours ahead of Houston ) so he is working long after most of us go home via phone. When not out of the country, Terry’s time is spent on employee and customer valve education and he does a lot of work with the marketing department ensuring technical accuracy and helping them out.

From our humble beginnings when Gary Hart was taking

phone calls out of his rented century old farm house, Lockwood Sarnia has become a force to reckon with in ChemicalValley.

Gary Hart and his family moved to Sarnia January 4th 2003. In

his mind was the company vision of opening our fifth Lockwood branch in Sarnia, Ontario as a base to service the 3 Imperial Oil refineries in Eastern Canada that we had contracts with. Gary set out to construct a building, hire the most talented people in the region and start another successful branch. Rob Sokol hired on in September, 2003 to cover Outside Sales and together, out of that 10 x 10 farm house office they started building. With Rob on board and construction of our brand new 25,000 sq. ft. warehouse and office progressed it was time for the next step. We hired Terry Gibb as Warehouse Manager and the three musketeers put long hours in setting up everything and

filling this great place with valves. It all concluded with our Grand Opening on October 21st, 2003. Along with Mike and Tom Lockwood, we were privileged to have the owners of TY also attend that day to help celebrate with us.

It all seems like a faded memory at this point as we head into our sixth

year of operations here in Sarnia. We now have a staff of seven to service our great and loyal client list of over 30 customers. As the company grew quickly Jasen Taylor was hired for Inside Sales in February 2005 and Darrin Daeman was hired a few months later in April 2005 to help Terry in the Warehouse. Ruth Boyling joined us July, 2006 and Shawn Monk was hired to help out with Inside Sales July, 2007. We have been very successful due to this top notch and visionary staff.

The Sarnia Branch continues to be a very busy place. Lockwood

has filled a niche in our community by providing lower cost, readily available stock and superior service and delivery. We look forward to what the future has

in store for Lockwood here in Sarnia. We will continue to grow and improve our business

model for our

great customer base here in Eastern Canada.

LOCKWOOD VALVES CANADA SHERWOOD PARK/

ALBERTA (EDMONTON) NEWS -by Robbie Marler

All Alberta staff have been looking forward to spring

arriving (officially Friday March 20/09) Saturday was beautiful, then we woke up Sunday to a blizzard!!! Everyone is looking forward to spring and summer, putting the long, cold, dark days of winter behind us.

We are currently winding down on the Shell ASOP projects and are eager to take an active role on the Exxon Kearl Oil Sands project.

We have been working closely with Shell regarding the renewal of our MRO agreement, and expect to have an answer within the next few months.

Times are really changing, earlier today the energy sector announced the merger between two major oil companies, Suncor and PetroCanada. Should the merger take place we anticipate great opportunities for Lockwood down the road.

Every business needs to know one thing when it comes to the expenses of Marketing and Lead Generation. “What is the ROI (Return on

Investment)?”

Back in Dec/08, after a great showing at the Power Gen Trade Show in Orlando, Florida, the Lockwood Power Team brought back numerous

leads from across North America. They were scanned and sorted by territory and assigned to the appropriate Lockwood sales reps for follow up. Lockwood Montreal received one lead... NB Power, one of North America ‘s most diverse generating systems and interconnected transmission networks.

Lockwood Montreal, decided to “strike while the iron was still hot” and quickly put the sales wheels in fast forward! We found out that before

we could speak with any of their mechanical engineers or procurement buyers, we had to register Lockwood as a vendor to NB Power. A long and tedious task, but we were determined to get this account and forged ahead none-the-less.

With good help from various departments at Lockwood we compiled all the required information and sent it off to NB for further consideration.

We pushed hard on the follow up and to our pleasant surprise, received our vendor number just three days later!

Our next target was to aggressively go after

the procurement buyers and mechanical engineers at nine locations throughout New Brunswick, letting them know who we were and what we

had to offer. We got their attention and were asked to bid on a valve and actuation package. One week later we received our first order from NB Power!

You just never know if the expense of a trade show will generate enough leads/sales to provide ROI. Just like you never know when one small

quotation or one seemingly insignificant conversation can lead to growing our business. Undeniable ROI? .......priceless!

BEAUMONT NEWS - Perry Henderson Remarkably, the recovery from Hurricane Ike (9/08) is still ongoing in this area. We continue to have chemical plants that are shut down both for necessary repairs from the storm and in part due to the current business climate which has curtailed the need for their products. Of course, the hope is this will change within the next quarter. The new facility in Port Arthur is nearing completion. It should be in full operation by the next newsletter.

Randy Wilson has been with Lockwood since last year (technically true-he was

hired 12/31/08) and he has already left some tire tracks in the road.

When asked what his goal at Lockwood was he explains that it is to build a

group who is devoted to and specializes in quarter-turn valves. He says that Lockwood signed an exclusive with Tomoe for the U.S. and Canada territory to achieve pricing protection. He has plans to fast track the TY ball valve markets, production, and design.

He brings years of valuable experience with

expertise in valve application and sizing. He knows the who, what, when, where and why when it comes to valves.

Randy’s career path wasn’t initially “the industry”. I asked him how he got into

valves and he immediately shot back that he was an “oil field brat”. His father worked for Sun Oil for over thirty years as a Production Superintendant in San Fernando, CA where Randy was born. Randy eventually followed in his father’s footsteps and worked at the same company for ten years doing instrumentation and project work in steam flood, including work on the Sun Oil Platform Henry in Santa Barbara, CA. (A platform built in 1979 for DCOR with a water depth of 173 feet and 4.3

miles from land).

From there, Randy moved to Bechtel Engineering and Petroleum to work on

the Elk Hills Naval Petroleum Reserve (lands owned by the U.S. Government established in the 1920’s to ensure naval vessels had fuel)

doing construction project work.

In 1989 he left California for

Houston for Norriseal Controls as their Western Regional Manager where he covered 13 western states (road warrior).

F rom there he joined Norriseal

Globe Control Valve Instrumentation company. In 1994 he transferred to Houston with the company as their National Sales Manager. He left in 1998 to join KTM Ball where he started their division. In 2000 they were bought out by TYCO where he stayed until 2007 leaving as Director of Controls for North America.

When asked where he attended

school, he smiles. I smile too, because I know what is coming. Randy was drafted right out of high school by the California Angels. At age 18 he was

playing first base for them and has played with such greats as George Brett and Nolan Ryan.

An injury forced him to leave the game after five years, and he is quick to add that he left that career before the astronomical earnings (Jim “Catfish” Hunter of the Oakland A’s sued to become a free agent, which started the upward spiral of earnings for ball players). So, he says he can’t endorse one school as his Alma Mater. Wherever he played “winter ball” was where he attended, and the Angels picked up the tab.

He says his “self proclaimed claim to fame” was being the first guy hit by a

pitch in spring training by none other than Nolan Ryan. Randy tries to keep in touch with some of his team mates from years ago, as he rattles off a few names (Dave Collins of the Milwaukee Brewers and Ronnie Jackson hitting coach for the Boston Red Sox); “they are mostly managers and coaches now.” Randy has met “The Greats”... Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Ernie Banks, and Roger Maris. (It’s an honor to even type those names for me).

We welcome Randy to Lockwood and you know who to call when you need

a good “Quarter-turn man”.

Randy Wilson - Lockwood’s “Quarter-turn man”

Randy Wilson #17California Angels

There are four general categories of valves: Quarter-turn, Multi-turn, Checks and Control.

• Quarter-turn: ball, plug and butterfly • Multi-turn: gate and globe• Check: backflow prevention• Control: automated control (actuators)

A quarter-turn is so named because it requires a 90 degree turn (of the stem) to move from the fully-open to fully-closed.

LOCKWOOD S I N G A P O R E V A LV E SThe Singapore branch started with a bang, becoming registered

locally in August 08, securing the first local Project (REC) in September and moved into the warehouse in October. From a personnel perspective Karnan Palanivel and Aziz Abdul both started in the warehouse in November and hit the ground running. They had the luxury of unloading not only inventory containers but REC Project material while at the same time training on the valves. The amount of material and work they handled is impressive and since they survived that, we are confident they can handle anything!

Jordana Brumby was hired in February as Operations Manager, Karnan has since moved on to Project

Support and Aziz is now Warehouse Lead.

The past 6 months have been extremely busy with project support on REC and Saudi Kayan while still setting up operations and

chasing new work. The overall reception to our new venture has been very good, and the future is promising for the region despite the recent market downturn. We look forward to growing the business while at the same time supporting our trading partners such as ExxonMobil, Chevron and others in the region.

TY Italy ball valve division has booked some serious orders; our TY Italy ball valve stock will be available starting the end of April. Claudio Corbani was hired for Inside Sales in January. His work experience includes PVBS, Petrolvalves, and Della Foglia. We have also started to do business with North Africa and with the North Sea markets, as well as defining our business strategy in Italy/Europe/Middle East and Japan.

training by Renee RobertsI am very excited about our in house training since we began using the

internet and our new webcams! I have been experimenting with different software programs that allows me to train multiple branches at one time, (which eliminates travel costs), and I do believe we found a winner!

We had 5 branches working together at one time, in one virtual location. We were able to share the AS400 to work on various tasks and we could see each other and interact as if sitting in one room. The ladies had great questions and were able to give input to help the others with their day-to-day jobs. They were also able to take over the keyboard and mouse control within the AS400 environment to do hands-on training, while the other “participants” could sit and watch.

I would like to personally thank the following people and branches for their patience and help throughout this process. They are all team players and have been a great support in helping us work this out.(In branch number order:)(3)Sarnia = Ruth Bowling; (7)Chicago = Staci Hanner; (9)California = July Majlong; (10)Charlotte = Cherlyn Tumlin; and (14)Montreal = Vanessa Russo.

March 23 I will begin using these tools to train our Singapore branch. I believe these tools can be used in a number of beneficial ways, including inner branch communications and eventually possibly with our customers.

Again, thank you ladies! You’re awesome!

by Rob Fishbourne, Tomoe - Regional Manager U.S.A.

A big Thank You for all help and contributions. It is VERY MUCH appreciated.

That’s all for this edition. See you in the Summer.

Tomoe introduced their first butterfly valve back in

1962, and rapidly moved into PTFE lined valves and double offset high performance valves shortly after. Tomoe benefitted from the massive industrial growth of the Japanese economy in the 1960’s and 1970’s, were the company tripled in size in a very short space of time. Tomoe then expanded into the European market in 1985 opening up their European headquarters in Newport (UK), were they now employ over 80 people.

In 1997 Tomoe made a $20m investment in opening up a

new manufacturing location in Newport to make the Tomoe range of Triple Offset Valves. This operation has grown steadily and the UK operation have now produced over 12,000 triple offset valves in size ranges from 2” thru 72” in pressure classes from ANSI 150 to 2500 # and in material grades from cast carbon steel right through to titanium bodied valves.

The valve design is unique in so much as it is fully field

maintainable, and has won the respect and trust of nearly all the major Oil and Gas end users in the World today. Tomoe also developed an award winning “double block and bleed’ valve in 2002, that was voted the most innovative

valve product of the year by the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in 2003.

In 2004 Tomoe made a further multi million dollar investment in a state of the art brand new production facility in Batam (Indonesia) where they have gone on to develop a ‘second generation’ of triple offset valves known as the “TT2” this second generation of valves have all the same features and benefits

of the first, in terms of the valves field maintainability... The TT2 product line and the new production facility in Batam has been set up for high volume production of triple offset valves, and has helped Tomoe to become a competitive source in the volume end of the global triple offset market, current sales are expanding rapidly as triple offset valve demand is growing at an incredible pace Worldwide... In 2005 Tomoe opened up regional offices in the UAE to grow their market share in the Middle East, and now have operations in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

In 2006 Tomoe decided that it was time to expand into the USA, and although Tomoe had built up a reasonable market share in North America over the years, it could not claim to be a truly ‘global’ player without a presence over here. Early in 2007 Tomoe opened up a new operation in Houston, and

transferred Rob Fishbourne from the operation in the UK, to set up and manage the operation here in the USA.... Today Tomoe employs around 350 people globally.
