Description

The aim of the workshop is to present the EU 2020 Strategy and and other EU related topics to the city

officials, to provide them with an insight into the work of the Representation of Budapest to the EU, the future

of cohesion policy and the interests of the city.

On-going projects will also be presented and participants will have a chance to discuss EU policy issues and

projects. The different departments will have the chance to inform each other about their EU projects and

project ideas and to analyse the link between projects and policies.

Target groups of participants:

Heads of departments and EU officers of the Mayor’s Office of Budapest.

"European SME Day"

Description

There is an increasing need to foster the establishment of SMEs in Europe to establish more jobs. Joining forces

of Open Days 2011 and SME Week 2011 a joint local event is organised under the title "European SME Day". The

idea behind the event is to share international good practices of SME practices mainly focusing on financing

issues. The different good practices are presented through INTERREG IVC supported, SME-related project results

and also through the eamples of other regional stakeholders. The event is a dissemination event financed

through the NEEBOR, Mini Europe and Creative Growth INTERREG IVC projects.

Target groups of participants:

Representatives from the region’s universities, SMEs, local governments, and partners of the INTERREG IVC

projects.

Description

The concept of geography will be discussed from very different viewpoints: researchers in the fields of

regional studies, intercultural communication, urban planning and university – industries relations will

conduct discussions based on the results of their research, educational activities and international

networking linked to the Alps-Adriatic cooperation and to the EU2020 and European Danube strategies. The

local event of the Open Days 2011 in Pécs will raise awareness among scholars, researchers, students and

citizens about our common regions, joint responsibilities and future actions.

Target groups of participants:

Representatives from the universities of the region (from Pécs and Kaposvár) – lecturers, students,

representatives from the Academy of Sciences, representatives of local and territorial municipalities, local

inhabitants.
