About the ConferenceThe 4
thinternational conference
on Advances in MechanicalEngineering (ICAME) isscheduled to be
held duringSeptember 23-25, 2010. Theobjective of this conference
is tobring together experts fromacademic institutions,
industriesand research organizations andprofessional engineers
forsharing of knowledge, expertiseand experience in the
emergingtrends related to MechanicalEngineering education
andresearch.
The conference isstructured as plenary lecturesfollowed by
parallel sessions.
The plenary lectures will bedelivered by the
eminentpersonalities at internationallevel invited to introduce
thetheme of the conference. Eachparallel session starts with
aninvited talk on specific topicfollowed by contributed papers.
Papers are invited fromthe prospective authors fromindustries,
academic institutions,R&D organizations and fromprofessional
engineers.

About the InstituteThe institute was established asSardar
Vallabhbhai RegionalCollege of Engineering &Technology in 1961
and wasupgraded by Government ofIndia as a National Institute
ofTechnology on 4th October,2002. The institute is one of
thepioneering institutions and hascontributed many
outstandingengineers in India & abroad. It is
conducting seven UG programsand fifteen PG programs
inengineering and Ph.D. programin all disciplines of engineeringand
applied sciences. Theinstitute has an excellentplacement record

About the DepartmentThe Department of MechanicalEngineering came
into
existence in the year 1961. Thedepartment has 45 qualified
anddedicated faculty members withthe specialization in
variousareas. The department isconducting two UG
programs(Mechanical Engg. & ProductionEngg.), five PG
programs(Mechanical Engg., TurboMachines, Industrial
ProcessEquipment Design, CAD/CAMand Thermal System Design)and a
research program leading
to Ph.D. degree.
