IN APAST LIFE I
BELIEVEYOUWERE
MYDENTIST
The desire to be pleasing to the eye is a constant pursuit of humankind. The way we walk, talk, dress, eat, and maintain our hygiene has all factored into an almost natural routine. Coupling this idea of vanity with the possibility of fleeting memory and déjà vu is an interesting notion.
This issue of Coterie is not about vanity. It is not about dentists, nor the mortality of humans. This issue is about the backwater connections of life, beauty, and an attempt to understand the systematic judgments we make of ourselves, an introspection into our own self-image.
In a Past Life I Believe You Were My Dentist. Perhaps now you are nothing more than a sigh, a grimace, or perhaps salvation.
