    Presidents Report

Judi Hall arranged the very successful fellowship nightat Nellos last Thursday but unfortunately came downwith the virus thats doing the rounds and couldnt at-tend. Susan De Bolfo stepped in at the last minute toarrange the raffle (won by Megan) and collect the mon-ey. Well done Judi and Susan

I was unfortunate that there were no photos taken ofthe 38 members and partners who attended enjoyingthemselves. Thank you for all members that attendedand enjoyed a great meal at a very reasonable price. Anumber of members were seen asking Christine (Nellosdaughter) for a card so they could make a return visit.

Correspondence received duringthe week requested the club try afind a Nominee for the SHINE ONAWARDS 2014 supported by Ro-tary Southern Distr icts 9780,9790, 9800, 9810 & 9820

The Shine On Awards recognize outstanding commu-nity service by people with disabilities who, by their ac-tions, service as Shining Examples to the community. They contribute under demanding and difficult condi-tions to their local and wider communities. Our contactswith the Bayside Council and other community groupsshould provide us with potential nominations.

Eligible Nominees are people who are actively involvedin community service for the benefit of others and havedemonstrated a significant level of achievement whilstmanaging a specific medical disorder/disability.

Nominations for the Rotary Southern Districts ShineOn Awards must be endorsed by a Rotary Club. Nomi-nations may be made by clubs, associations or individu-als aged 21 years and over. A nominee must sign aconsent form and include a small or passport sized pho-to. Nominations close on 15th December.

The awards were first presented in Brisbane in 1993and were the initiative of Past President Bernie Jacks ofDistrict 9600. Please contact me if you know of anysuitable nominations.

The new Rotary Inter-national website, launched as David Leawrote in last weeksnewsletter on August26, has a vastly im-

proved format andsimple structure forfinding out information. In particular there issection on the use ofthe new logo, fonts, colours, layouts, mini-mal sizes in varioussituations and what represents a misuse of thelogo.

    http://www.rotary.org/myrotary/en/logos-graphics

The reason for raising this is because we have anumber of events coming up where the logo will beused and, like any corporate brand; we must com-ply with the visual and identity guidelines.

This week Peter Flude will chair the special Part-ners Night where Janet Hailes Michelmore from theJean Hailes Foundation will be the guest speaker.

    See you there,
