Use of conventions from real media • An example of real media that we looked at was, Attack

The Block

The screen shot shows two youths wearing hoodies and normal street clothing like jackets and tracksuit bottoms

Similarly, we used the clothing that normal teens wear in London, to match the conventions of our genre

Conventions of Dialogue • Also, another movie we looked at was Kidulthood.• In this movies the youth of London use a lot of slang and

they have their own dialect. For example they would use a lot of slang, swear words and coded words.

• Similarly, we used the same type of dialect. This wasn’t very hard because we are common with this type of East London dialect as we grew up with such use of language.

Developing and challenging real media products

• Whilst looking at movies like Adulthood and Kidulthood, one will notice that the storyline is very similar. They both have the same type of ‘bad guys’ and have similar looking characters.

However, our media product develops and challenges this because we have a complex and different storyline. For example the ‘bad guy’ in our movie is different from the ‘bad guy’ in kidulthood. He looks different and talks different.
