Setters Training Begins November 4th!

NORCO is "set" to start Setting Training for the second year in arow! Setting coaches Kate Hampson and Marissa Hughes areexcited to get the season started and to introduce new drills for bothbeginning and experienced setters. It is our goal that everyNORCO setter will receive specific setter training once a week.Obviously tournament schedules will impact some of this. Having allsetters trained the same way throughout the Club helps with playerand team movement, as they won't need to relearn a new way ofsetting each season. Rather, they can build each season, becominga better setter. Kate and Marissa are committed to this progressionand each NORCO coach will be sent updates and reports regardingtheir setters.

***If you are a setter for your team, you will need to pay extraattention to the setters schedule found on the "PracticeSchedule" clearly marked as "Setters Training" of "Setters".Using this special training for setters, that is provided andMANDATORY, is a crucial part of your NORCO team. Use thelink below to add setters training to your calendar!

Setter Training Times

Colorado Crossroads Information/Steps:In order for a NORCO team to be accepted into Crossroads each team has todo the following. It's a Stay and Play Tournament meaning if yourclub is more than 40 miles away, hotel bookings MUST be made thru hostsite (FRVBC). USAV uses a 75 mile radius. Last year all JNQ's except thisone was 50+ miles. NORCO is located 48.5 miles away.



1. Enter team information/roster and pay entry fee (NORCO Admin will do thisand it's already covered).

2. Each team must reserve at least 12 room nights at a hotel listed on thethsweb.com site and MUST book these rooms through THS (Parents takecare of this). Parents may either individually book their daughter/family'sroom or a team manager/other parent may book rooms for entire team. 12nights can be, 6 rooms X 2 nights, 4 rooms x 3 nights, OR but not usuallydone, 3 rooms X 4 nights or 12 rooms booked 1 night.

3. If parents book rooms at a hotel that may in fact be on the THS list but theydid not use THS to book it, it does NOT count towards team's 12 roomnights. So in other words if you book directly at the Embassy Suites forexample, it won't count for your team.

4. Once Entry is paid (by NORCO ADMIN) the required room nights arebooked (By Parents) and the team is accepted.

5. FYI- If any rooms are cancelled which would drop the team below the 12night requirement, after the team has been accepted or at any time during thetournament, than the team's acceptance will be rescinded and/or team will bedisqualified from the tournament if play has already begun.

6. Parents: form a plan before hotel registration goes live. Many of you haveasked about qualifying for the Stay and Play loyalty program. If your teambooks 36 nite stays for this 3 day tourney, you would qualify for their Goldearly bird booking status...

All of this information is based on how the Crossroads tournament worked last clubseason. We are anticipating it being the same or at least very similar this year but will notknow for sure until Front Range Volleyball Club makes this information public. Weadvise you to continually check their website frvbc.com for updates as they have aspecial link for Colorado Crossroads.

This is how FRVBC operates their tourney. However, it's a JNQ offered inour back yard. If you have any questions, please just drop in office and ask.

14 Black is coached by Glenn Sapp and "CSU Superstar" DriCulbert. Glenn has represented NORCO at the USAV JuniorNational's for 6 years in various age groups. He has 25 years+volleyball experience (11th season at NORCO). Dri is currentlyCSU's Opposite Hitter/Setter. She was a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Mountain West in 2012. This is Dri's firstyear coaching at NORCO.
