Taj Mahal

• The Taj Mahal was constructed over a period of twenty two years, employing twenty thousand workers. It was Emperor Shah Jehan who ordered the building of the Taj Mahal, in honour of his wife. The construction began early in the year 1630.

• Shah Jehan built the Taj Mahal in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their fourteenth child.

Elephants• Elephants were born

in the wild but were used to fight wars in India. Some men caught baby elephants and tamed them. But some men captured elephants and brutally murdered them just to get their tusks. Tusks are made of ivory and can be worth a lot of money.
