INDIANA’S EXPORT ACTIVITY ► In 2012, the United States exported nearly $1.5 trillion in goods and services. Indiana’s share was $34.4 billion, $2.1 billion higher than 2011. ► Indiana’s exports increased 6.6% while national exports grew by 4.4% from 2011 to 2012.

► Over the last 10 years, Indiana’s exports to China have increased almost seven-fold. In 2012, Indiana ranked 22nd among the states in terms of value of exported manufactured goods to China, but if agricultural products are included, the state’s ranking jumps to 14th.

► Transportation equipment and life sciences industries – pharmaceuticals and medical instruments – are the leading export industries for Indiana.
