GIVING OPPORTUNITY MEET A MEMBER OF YOUR UCLA ATHLETICS DEVELOPMENT TEAM INSIDE UCLA ATHLETICS DEVELOPMENT Josh Rebholz Senior Associate Athletic Director, External Relations Hometown: Scottsdale, Arizona College: Weber State University, Communications, 2004 Start Date with UCLA Athletics Development: I was hired on with UCLA Athletics in August, 2011 as the Associate Athletic Director of Development, overseeing fund development for the athletic department, including capital and major gifts and the Wooden Athletic Fund. With sincere appreciation, I am honored to have recently taken over the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director, External Relations as a member of Dan Guerrero's senior staff. In this new role, I will continue to oversee all facets of fund development, while also overseeing marketing, promotion, branding, licensing, alumni relations, and ticket sales for UCLA Athletics. I will also serve as the department's liaison with IMG, UCLA's corporate and media rights holder. It is an honor and privilege to work beside the talented external relations staff we have at UCLA and I am excited to see what we can accomplish together. Favorite UCLA Memory / Experience: I have enjoyed so many great things which come from working at UCLA, but the most memorable has to have been in Omaha watching the UCLA Baseball team win the 2013 National Championship. Favorite Professional Sports Team: Phoenix Suns, but becoming a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers! Favorite Westwood Restaurant: Palomino Favorite John Wooden Quote: “Leadership is the ability to get individuals to work together for the common good and the best possible results.” Unique Fact About Yourself: My uncle was an Intercollegiate Athletics Director for more than 30 years, most recently retiring after 16 years as the Athletic Director at the University of Memphis, and he always wore pocket squares with his suits, so because I always looked up to him – I always wear pocket squares too. There are two types of “Forever Champions” Endowments: • “Four Deep” Scholarship Endowments – Provide restricted support for student-athlete financial aid and may be directed to the sport of your choice. – Gift options begin at $125,000 and may be paid over a five year period. – Donor receives 5% Wooden Athletic Fund credit for life (i.e. $125,000 Endowment = $6,250 annual WAF credit for life) • Program Endowments – Provide sport specific operational support at the discretion of the head coach, with Athletic Director oversight. May be directed to the sport of your choice. – Gift options begin at $125,000 and may be paid over a five year period. – Opportunities for named Head Coaching Position Endowments are available for gifts of $1,000,000 and above. • Individual Sport Giving: You can directly support any of UCLA’s 25 intercollegiate teams with a gift directly to the annual operating fund for a specific sport. All proceeds to individual sports directly support academic services, recruiting, dining and nutrition, and facility, equipment and video upgrades. As representatives of UCLA’s athletic interests (boosters), here are the NCAA employment rules that hiring boosters need to know: • You may employ current student-athletes if their compensation is for work actually performed and at a rate commensurate with the going rate for similar services. Compensation may not be based on student-athletes’ fame, reputation or publicity obtained because of their athletic ability. • Student-athletes may not commence their employment or internship without first completing an employment form available through the UCLA Compliance Office. If you employ a current UCLA student-athlete, you may be contacted by Compliance for information regarding the employment. • It is not permissible to provide any benefits to a prospect (e.g., transportation, meals) unless the same benefits are provided to all other employees. • Boosters may assist UCLA coaches or staff in finding a prospective student-athlete (PSA) summer employment, but only AFTER the PSA signs his or her National Letter of Intent with UCLA. UCLA boosters may NOT arrange or create employment opportunities for relatives, friends or legal guardians of PSAs. Did you know? NCAA rules don’t permit current student-athletes to be hired to house sit, regardless if they are paid or not. honored to have recently taken over the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director, External Relations as a member of Dan Guerrero's senior staff. In this new role, I will continue to oversee all facets of fund development, while also overseeing marketing, promotion, branding, licensing, alumni relations, and ticket sales for UCLA Athletics. I will also serve as the department's liaison with IMG, UCLA's corporate and media rights holder. It is an honor and privilege to work beside the talented external relations staff we have at UCLA and I am excited to see what we can accomplish together. • “Forever Champions” Program & Scholarship Endowments: “Forever Champions” Endowments offer donors the opportunity to forever link their name to UCLA’s championship tradition while making a direct impact on future generations of UCLA student-athletes. There are two types of “Forever Champions” Endowments:

• “Four Deep” Scholarship Endowments – Provide restricted support for student-athlete financial aid and may be directed to the sport of your choice. – Gift options begin at $125,000 and may be paid over a five year period. – Donor receives 5% Wooden Athletic Fund credit for life (i.e. $125,000 Endowment = $6,250 annual WAF credit for life)

• Program Endowments – Provide sport specific operational support at the discretion of the head coach, with Athletic Director oversight. May be directed to the sport of your choice. – Gift options begin at $125,000 and may be paid over a five year period. – Opportunities for named Head Coaching Position Endowments are available for gifts of $1,000,000 and above.

• Individual Sport Giving: You can directly support any of UCLA’s 25 intercollegiate teams with a gift directly to the annual operating fund for a specific sport. All proceeds to individual sports directly support academic services, recruiting, dining and nutrition, and facility, equipment and video upgrades. Benefits for donations to individual sports vary based upon the sport and do not include priority seating opportunities for Football or Men’s Basketball. • In recognition of gifts of $25,000 or more to a single sport, donors are offered non-seating Wooden Athletic Fund benefits in addition to the exclusive benefits provided by that sport

Spring is here and many UCLA students are securing summer jobs or internships to gain valuable professional experience. As representatives of UCLA’s athletic interests (boosters), here are the NCAA employment rules that hiring boosters need to know:

• You may employ current student-athletes if their compensation is for work actually performed and at a rate commensurate with the going rate for similar services. Compensation may not be based on student-athletes’ fame, reputation or publicity obtained because of their athletic ability.

• Student-athletes may not commence their employment or internship without first completing an employment form available through the UCLA Compliance Office. If you employ a current UCLA student-athlete, you may be contacted by Compliance for information regarding the employment.

• It is not permissible to provide any benefits to a prospect (e.g., transportation, meals) unless the same benefits are provided to all other employees.

• Boosters may assist UCLA coaches or staff in finding a prospective student-athlete (PSA) summer employment, but only AFTER the PSA signs his or her National Letter of Intent with UCLA. UCLA boosters may NOT arrange or create employment opportunities for relatives, friends or legal guardians of PSAs.

Did you know? NCAA rules don’t permit current student-athletes to be hired to house sit, regardless if they are paid or not.

On Saturday, June 21st, UCLA Athletics will be hosting its annual Bruins at the Beach event at The Strand at Headlands, Dana Point to benefit nearly 700 student-athletes through the Wooden Athletic Fund. This exclusive event, limited to just 150 guests, is an opportunity for passionate UCLA alumni, friends and fans to spend an elegant intimate evening in Orange County with UCLA head coaches, including Coach Mora and Coach Alford, as well as distinguished UCLA Legends. This evening will feature gourmet food and drink selections, live entertainment, an extensive silent auction with one-of-a-kind items, a beautiful beach setting, and much more.
