100 PLUSUCLA concluded the season as the conference’s only program to have at least three players with 100 or more assists. Junior Bryce Alford finished the year with a team-high 167 assists, , the second-highest total of any player in the Pac-12, while freshman Aaron Holiday had 127 and junior Isaac Hamilton registered 106. This marked the first season since 2009-10 in which at least three Bruins totaled 100 or more assists (prior to 2009-10, that statistical feat had not been accomplished at UCLA since 1997-98).

THREE-POINT THREATJunior guard Bryce Alford became UCLA’s first player since Arron Afflalo (in 2005-06, 2006-07) to have made at least 70 three-pointers in consecutive seasons. Alford, who made 73 attempts from 3-point range in 2015-16, concluded his sohpomore season (2014-15) with a school-record 93 3-pointers. In fact, Alford will head into his senior season having made at least one 3-pointer in each of UCLA’s previous 26 games. As a team, UCLA has made at least one 3-pointer in its previous 553 games (last time without a 3-pointer was on Feb. 3, 2000, at home against Stanford).

POINTS AND ASSISTSBryce Alford has become the sixth player in school history, on record, to have scored at least 1,300 career points and registered 400 or more assists. Alford has become the first UCLA player to equal or eclipse those two career totals since Darren Collison, who amassed 1,634 points and 577 assists over four seasons (2006-09).Player Seasons Points Assists Games PPG APG FG/FGA FG Pct.Toby Bailey 1995-1998 1846 458 129 14.3 3.6 679/1479 .459 Darren Collison 2006-2009 1634 577 142 11.5 4.1 563/1185 .475Tyus Edney 1992-1995 1515 652 125 12.1 5.2 484/1007 .481Pooh Richardson 1986-1989 1461 833 122 12.0 6.8 600/1170 .513Roy Hamilton 1976-1979 1355 512 108 12.5 4.7 566/1046 .520Bryce Alford 2014-present 1364 445 105 13.0 4.2 411/1056 .389*assists were first officially recorded at UCLA in 1973-74

PAC-12 IN REVIEWUCLA has won the Pac-12 Conference’s regular-season title in four of the last 11 seasons (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2013). In addition, the Bruins have secured the conference’s tournament championship in three of the previous 10 years (2006, 2008 and 2014). No other Pac-12 program has won as many as four Pac-12 regular-season titles over the last 11 years. Only UCLA (3), Oregon (2) and Washington (2) have won multiple tournament titles in the last 10 seasons (Washington in 2010 and 2011, and Oregon in 2007 and 2013).

RENOVATED ARENAThe 2015-16 campaign marked UCLA’s fourth season playing in a renovated Pauley Pavilion. UCLA’s iconic home was closed during the 2011-12 season to undergo a $136-million renovation. Pauley Pavilion re-opened for the team’s season opener on Nov. 9, 2012, against Indiana State, the first college program for which John Wooden coached before he accepted the job at UCLA. The reconfigured layout of Pauley Pavilion can seat as many as 13,800 (capacity was 12,800 before the renovation). The arena began its expansion and renovation in March 2010.

NEW AND IMPROVED: Pauley Pavilion remained in a functional capacity during the 2010-11 season. The arena now provides many additional amenities, including more concession points and restrooms, a custom designed 16-foot by 12-foot LED high-definition Daktronics video board and an interior LED ribbon board. Pauley Pavilion originally opened in time for the 1965 UCLA commencement exercises that summer, prior to the 1965-66 season.

UCLA BASKETBALL ON THE AIRFor the eighth straight season, UCLA’s basketball games are being produced by the UCLA Sports Network from IMG, with AM 570 Fox Sports LA in Los Angeles serving as the flagship station.

This is the 19th year of UCLA’s partnership with AM 570 Fox Sports LA owner Clear Channel. Other stations on the UCLA Sports Network from IMG include KXEX (1550 AM) in Fresno and KSLK (96.1 FM) in Visalia.

Bill Roth serves as UCLA’s play-by-play voice, and former Bruins’ guard Darrick Martin is the radio analyst. UCLA hired Roth as the new play-by-play voice for Bruins’ basketball and football games in April 2015. Roth, an 11-time Virginia Sportscaster of the Year honoree, spent the previous 27 seasons as the lead play-by-play broadcaster for Virginia Tech’s football and men’s basketball teams. He replaced Chris Roberts, who retired after the 2014-15 season.

A veteran of the industry for more than 25 years, Roth arrived in Westwood as a member of both the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and Syracuse University’s WAER Hall of Fame. He was involved in all facets of the athletic department at Virginia Tech. A frequent speaker at the university’s fund raising and charitable functions throughout the region, he also hosted a Sunday morning television show, penned both online and magazine columns and even worked with campus police to develop unique emergency training modules for Virginia Tech faculty, staff and visitors.

Martin starred in UCLA’s backcourt from 1989-92 and replaces Tracy Murray in the radio analyst role. Murray, a teammate of Martin’s at UCLA from 1990-92, spent the previous seven seasons in that capacity before being named a shooting coach with the Los Angeles Lakers in Oct. 2015.

A 13-year NBA veteran, Martin entered the league with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1994-95. As a point guard for seven NBA teams throughout his career, the former Saint Anthony (Long Beach) standout recorded 3,525 points and 1,475 assists in 514 career games. In 1996-97, he appeared in all 82 games (64 starts) with the Los Angeles Clippers, posting career highs in both points (10.9) and assists (4.1) per game.

After his playing career, Martin spent two seasons as an assistant coach and player development specialist with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In Sept. 2012, he was hired as an assistant coach on Steve Lavin’s coaching staff at St. John’s University in New York. While working with St. John’s, he spent one year as an assistant coach and three seasons as the program’s Director of Basketball Operations.
