A few well known horror productions include Hammer film productions; New Line Cinema and Lions gate Films. Hammer Film productions has recently released a horror film called ‘Let me in’ that was reviewed as 7.3 out of 10 on an average and has been reviewed to show more than just fright.

The main horror production we have decided to take most interest in however is ‘Dark Castle Entertainment’. This production is based solely on horror films, unlike New Line Cinema and Lions Gate Films. Dark Castle Entertainment has produced films such as The Orphan( 2009), House Of Wax (2005) and Unknown( 2011), which is out this February.

Dark Castle was named after William Castle the horror filmmaker from the 1950’s to the 1960’s. When they first created this company, they wanted to create all of William’s films, almost as if they had had an upgrade. However once they had re-created two films, they decided to work on original material and create other horror films.

Dark Castle Entertainment is a small production of Warner Bros. This production has been created only for the Horror genre. Warner Bros has released some horror films as Warner Bros such as Twilight Zone: The Movie, which is a sci-fi horror.

Dark Castle Entertainment’s biggest achievement was the production of Gothika, which gave a total of $141,591,324. This was by far the most they had earned, with Orphan as the second most successful, which gave a total of $78,337,373.

As a whole Dark Castle Entertainment has earned an estimated $690,500,000 and is continuing to rise.
