International Hard Anodizing Association
Maximizing Process Control
THE ONE THING THAT REALLY MATTERS IS CONSISTENCY
Once Consistency is Achieved, Quality Can Be Reliably Managed

What is Needed for Consistency?
• A System that can receive data from various areas of an
Anodizing Operation and turn that data into useful
information
• A System that can then be used to turn that information
into knowledge which, when provided consistently and
timely to appropriate personnel, transforms an Anodizing
Operation from one that is Reactive to one that is
Proactive
• A Scalable System that makes collection/storage of
rules/logic based actions seamless for maximum
knowledge utilization
• User Definable Features:
– Schedules, Procedures, Event Tracking
– System/User Security, Rules/Actions/Notifications

Relational Database Utilization
• Standardizes Operations
– Software can provide the confidence to know that
each operation, regardless of personnel, shift, or
location, will be performed the same
– Resulting actions/activities will be consistent
• Provides Traceability
– Who1performed a procedure?
– What1procedure was performed?
– When1was a procedure performed (timely)?
– Why1was a procedure modified (if yes, why)?
– How1did a procedure affect the process?
– Where1does additional attention need to be
focused?
