Maintaining your
new website
LiveEdit Basic content editing
• Select Edit mode
• Navigate to desired page to edit
content using displayed website
menus/navigation
• Click View Options on area to edit
• Click Edit item
• Make changes to text
• Click Save and Publish
LiveEdit basic Content editing
• Do not Save as Draft when simply editing text or
making simple changes to existing blocks
• LiveEdit will save the whole content block as Draft
• Drafts are not displayed on the live website
To Display your block saved as Draft
• If you do Save as Draft and want to
“get the block back on the site” Click to select Draft mode
Click View Options on the
block that is in draft mode
Select Toggle Draft Mode
Click to turn off Draft mode

Recommendation: For most basic editing needs, edit the live website. Use draft blocks when adding new content so you can see how it looks or so you can work on the block over a period of time.

Content pages from the database are not edited by navigating to the page
The content on these pages come from the database. The only LiveEdit editing is of the template design.
Adding new content blocks
• Navigate to the page where content should be added
• Click +New in ______
• Click General Content (for basic text blocks)
• Type your text
• Click Save and Publish

Text Alignment • Click and drag the block to desired location
• Click View Options and select align text left, right, or
center
Add graphic to a block – part 1
• Upload file to File Manager first Click Options (or Dashboard)
Click File Manager
Click the desired Collection
(or else it will load to All Files folder. Collection can be designated later).
Click Upload New Files to Current Collection
Click Select Files to Upload
and locate your graphic
Select the file to be uploaded.
(press Ctrl-click to select multiple files at once)

• Navigate back to the desired page
• Click View Options and Edit Item
• Click the
Image tab
• Find and click the
desired graphic
• Enter the desired
size; click Resize
• Click Select Image
• Click Save and Publish
Change layout for a block
• Basic layouts are available for each General Content area
• Click View Options,
Edit Item and click the
Layout tab
Insert image within text
• Why use Insert Image icon vs. using Image tab? If needing more exact placement of image
If needing to link the image
• View Options and click Edit Item
• Use the Insert/edit Image button

Adding a new menu item
• Familiarize yourself with your own website i.e. the names
of pages, menu names, and menu locations
• Two ways to add a new menu item Duplicate a current similar page/link and then modify it with your
specifics
Start from scratch – Click New Page on Dashboard
Copy an existing menu item
• Locate the item to duplicate
• Click Dashboard
• Click the Copy icon Copies the page/link with no content blocks
Copies the page and also the content blocks
• Click the Page Options icon on the new item
• Edit the copy with your specifics Change name of the page, page title
Change the Link URL (if item is a link)
• Click Save and Publish
Create a new Pull-Down menu
• Click Manage Page Groups
• Type the name for the new
page group and click Add
• Create a new page or copy a similar menu item in the
desired page grouping where the new menu should exist
• Edit this new menu choice
(see example to the right)
• In the new Page Group,
create or copy in the pages
and links
Turn off a menu item*
• Determine which menu item should be “turned off” or
“disabled”
• Click Dashboard
• Click the yellow light bulb on the menu item to be
disabled
• The light bulb will turn grey
• The menu selection is no longer
available on the website
• Click the light bulb again to
re-activate the selection
*These steps also work to disable a page
Delete a Page or link
• Click the Dashboard
• Locate the desired page or link to be removed
• Click the Page Options icon
• Click the Advanced tab
• Click Delete this Menu Item
