We are thrilled as we look ahead to another great summer of ministry here at Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camps. We desire camp to be a chance to retreat, to rest, to reconnect with family and friends, and to refocus our lives on our Lord. We work hard to make camp a safe environment for you to have tons of fun and grow in your faith. Our programs are founded on a strong belief in salvation by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ, the authority of the Bible, experiencing God through His creation, a daily walk with God, and a call to love our neighbors and be a light to our world. Our mission is, “To know Jesus Christ and to make Christ known to all,” and it drives all that we do. Our 2012 Summer theme is “ALIVE!” and it comes from 1 Thessalonians 5:10. God did not stop working in the world back in Bible times. Jesus is risen! God is alive and active in our lives and in our world today. God is calling us, guiding us, protecting us and equipping us to live our lives for God’s glory. When we step into this reality, we find that our life has meaning and pur-pose, and we become fully ALIVE! It is going to be a great summer. Join us! In Christ, Dan Antoine, Director of Programs 2011 Summer Staff

As our youngest overnight camp, Pathfinders camp is designed to nurture childlike faith and introduce kids to a great Bible camp experience. Campers will love the atmosphere, the counselors, and the fun chapel times. They will stay two nights in a cabin with other campers their age and one of our trained summer counselors. They will also get a taste of exciting outdoor adventure like canoeing, paddleboating, swimming, and hiking! With age appropriate Bible Studies and exciting camp activities, Pathfinders will discover how God can use them even at a young age to impact the world around them.

The Trailblazers camp experience at Ingham is designed to draw campers into a deeper faith relationship with their Savior. At a full week of camp, Trailblazers will have a blast with all-camp activities, engaging Bible studies, action-packed Chapel times, and delicious food. Plus, there is plenty of time to swim, canoe, paddleboat, check out the game room, or play on the playground. So bring a friend and join us for Trailblazers camp!

“What a gift we have in Ingham Okoboji Bible Camps! Caring counselors with a love for God and children who make us feel at home and closer to God and each other.” -Alan Baldwin Omaha, NE

Back again this year, these one day camps will give a great taste of what camp is like. Joining in with chapel times, meals, and free time, the campers will also enjoy special Bible studies and activities geared just for them! This camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., so you can either drop off your youngster for the day or if you are coming from a distance, feel free to spend the day with us while your children enjoy the camp experience.

We love to see kids and families come to camp and grow in faith, but we also have programs that extend beyond our camp into your community. Our Day Camp theme this summer is “ALIVE!” from 1 Thessalonians 5:10 and we will explore how we can be a part of God’s great big adventure of life!

Ingham Okoboji will staff your Day Camp with trained counselors who love kids and who are committed to Jesus Christ. Congregations and camp staff work together to share the Good News of Jesus through worship, music, skits, games, crafts, and Bible-based lessons. Campers interact in both large and small group settings to dig into the fun. Hands-on activities are used to enhance the week’s theme. Day Camp is an excellent way to invest in your kids and community. Call Allison at 1-800-OKOBOJI today for an available week that works with your church’s schedule or email her at [email protected].

We’re excited to continue offering our Live Wire Music Camp again in 2012. We’re also excited to announce that worship leader

and songwriter Rebekah (Antoine) Bartels will be sharing her gifts and time to help lead the week. Rebekah will also hold a worship concert during the camp for all participants. We will be exploring many different aspects of how we use music to worship God. Workshops will be offered teaching basic guitar lessons, keyboard lessons, and drum lessons. Campers will even learn several worship songs in chapel in order to bring them back to their church and help lead them in worship. Plus there will be many opportunities to

sing at chapel and campfires, in addition to all the free time options. Please bring any instruments you’d like to practice. Keyboardists and drummers can

use the equipment provided by the camp or bring their own. The camp will wrap up at 3:00 on Friday with a Celebration Concert highlighting

the week!

*Paintball will be offered as an option exclusively to Junior High campers and older for a small fee. It is located at our

IOLBC strives to create and main-tain a safe and caring environment that encourages opportunities for physical, emotional, and spiritual growth for each camper.

Many churches believe in Bible Camp ministry and provide financial assis-tance to help families send their kids to camp. IOLBC also offers “camperships” when local help cannot be secured or is not enough. Please call or e-mail the registrar for more information . We are blessed with great counselors

each year at Ingham and Okoboji who love the Lord and who love sharing that faith with youth and families. Our counselors are care-fully selected through an application and interview process. This process includes screenings and reference checks .

In case of cancellation for any reason prior to arrival at camp, all fees can be refunded except the deposit amount.

Unless noted otherwise, overnight youth camps begin with registration at 4:00 on the first day of camp and end with a closing program on the final day (1:00 at Okoboji, 3:00 at Ingham). Family campers register from 4-6 on Sundays and conclude the week with lunch on Friday.

We will do our best to place campers in cabins with their friends. However, campers should indicate on the registration form one friend they would like to room with at camp.

Do you know someone who would be a great camp counselor? Maybe you are that someone. Summer staff members at Ingham and Okoboji have a blast as they share the good news about Jesus with kids and families. If you know someone who would be a good fit, we would love it if you sent them our way. Staff application forms are available at www.okoboji.org.

We need your help! For each week of youth camp, we schedule a volunteer medical professional (RN, EMT, etc.) on site to assist with camper medications, first-aid, and other health care. If you or someone you know could fulfill this role, we would be thankful. Your children would also be welcome to join us as campers for free during the week in which you

volunteer. Please call us for available weeks or for more information.

Ingham and Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camps have a history rich in the love of Christ and the passion to share that love with others. Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp was established in 1924 on West Lake Okoboji. Ingham Lake Bible Camp was established in 1951. A working relationship between Ingham and Okoboji was created in 1983 and the two camps were united in ministry. The mission statement, "To know Jesus Christ and make Christ known to all," keeps Christ as the focus in all that we do. Each camp is able to offer unique opportunities of worship, relationships, and the nurturing of faith. Each year thousands of individuals and families depend on this ministry to provide fresh opportunities for them to grow in their faith. Built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ, IOLBC strives to keep Christ in the center of all we do, opening up and teaching the scriptures to guide campers to the truths of God’s word. We enjoy the presence of Christ in a safe, playful, Christian community through worship, activity, and rest. We

seek to be used by God for His purposes and work to equip campers to share in God’s heart for the world. It is an honor and a privilege to continue the great tradition of Bible camping ministry here at Ingham Okoboji. We hope you’ll come join us and take part yourself. See you soon!

Perhaps you or someone you know has encountered God in a life-changing way at Ingham or Okoboji. Maybe your congregation is looking for a mission project or outreach opportunity. Or possibly you just really believe in the ministry that happens at Bible Camp. There are many ways YOU can help in the Kingdom work here at IOLBC. Here are some ideas. 1. Pray for the camps. Pray that God would continue to provide for us,

open doors for us, and empower us to do ministry. 2. Invite others to experience God at camp. Your invitation could be

used by God to change someone’s life. 3. Volunteer at camp. God can use people with many different skills to

further the ministry here: painters, carpenters, mechanics, electricians, lawn mowers, bus drivers, gardeners, leaf rakers, dish washers, speak-ers, camp medic, consultants, and many more. Contact the camp to find out how and when you might bless the camp by being a volunteer. Volunteer for a day, a week or the whole summer season!

4. Give financially to the camp. This ministry depends on the generosity of believers to continue doing God’s work. There are many different ways to give: monthly donations, adopting a cabin, sponsoring a camper, estate giving, and many more. If you have any questions, please contact us to find out how your gifts to the camp will have an impact on eternity.

We can’t do what we do without your help and support. THANK YOU!

We would love to hear from you and your family. Let us know how you're doing and what God has been doing in your life lately. We'd also like to keep in touch with you to keep you updated with what God is doing at the camp. Part of that is keeping current contact information. Help us keep our information current by sending us your most current contact information (name, family, address, e-mail, phone, etc.). You can send this to [email protected]. Can't wait to hear from you!
