IOWA LICA GOLF OUTING COMING THIS SUMMER 2020…

No matter your skill level on the course, it is safe to say Iowa LICA

members like to dig dirt. This golf outing is a great time and no matter

how much dirt gets swung around, everyone has a chance to win.

The dollars generated from this fun event go towards funding our

scholarship for Iowa LICA members, their spouses, children,

grandchildren or employees. Watch for dates when the weather

warms up. Date TBD

Presidential Awards Banquet Entertainment

The Peterson Farm Bros are made up of Greg (28), Nathan (25), Kendal

(22), and honorary “bro” Laura (18) Peterson. We are siblings who farm

together with our parents near Assaria, KS. We produce entertaining

and educational videos on our YouTube channel and post farming and

video updates to our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, and

Instagram). Ever since we began producing content, we have continued

to realize a need to inform people about what we do in farming and in

agriculture as a whole. There are many misconceptions about modern

day farmers and we feel it is our calling to help correct some of those

misconceptions. Aside from our production on social media, we travel

around the country to speak on advocating for agriculture. We also blog

about misunderstood topics in agriculture and open up our farm for

tours. Through all of this we hope to educate the general public on

where their food comes from and what a real Midwest family farm looks

like!

Sunday Entertainment

Sign up at the Registration table on Sunday, January 5th. Enjoy the

hospitality rooms, grab a beverage, and throw some bags while

listening to the sounds of “Dirty Champagne”.

About the Sessions and Speakers:

Digging for Answers: Making Sense of an Uncertain Financial World

................................................................................... Ross Polking, Foster Group Making good decisions and avoiding costly mistakes is critical in both your

business and personal finances. Preparing for life after your career is an

ongoing exercise that is ripe with financial uncertainly. Creating a plan and

sticking to it is hard. Knowing how to effectively save and if/when to retire is

even harder. This presentation will help simplify your approach and cut

through some of the fog of planning and investing.

Disaster Recovery

to do it? While we are at it, what good will those files do you if nothing else

works? You will learn how disaster recovery fits into a larger business

continuity plan designed to ensure your company has resiliency in the face of

flood, fire and more. Attendees will gain an understanding (and handout

roadmap) of how to start building a plan to mitigate the impact of potentially

major disruptions to their business service delivery.

business and family is incredibly impactful. Come listen and ask questions of a

team of collaborative specialists (including Iowa LICA members) on dovetailing

risk management, contingency, succession and estate planning into a

seamless flexible plan and how to include and communicate your plan to the

people you care the most about.

What if your top employees start to leave?

• Have you taken steps to ensure their retention?

What if the company is sued on a project that went poorly?

• Have you put systems in place to ensure that contracts are reviewed to

minimize company risk?

What if your son and daughter expect to own the company and neither have the

capability to run it?

• Have you developed a succession plan and communicated it?

What if you and your business partner can’t agree how to operate the business

anymore?

• What does your buy-sell and/or operating agreement say?
