Incoming 2010-2012 TMTA President, Diane Delk, NCTM
TMTA Certification Director Nancy Plourde, NCTM, announced that nineteen Texas teachers met the requirements for National Certification. Those teachers are: Pablo Aguilar, NCTM, Mario P. Ajero, NCTM, Kara Bailey, NCTM, Eleanor Elkins, NCTM, Doris Gameiro, NCTM, Mihee Kim Heil, NCTM, John Hendrickson, NCTM, Sharon Herning, NCTM, Susan Hong, NCTM, Jessica Koebbe, NCTM, Olga Marek, NCTM, Justin Reich, NCTM, Deborah Rhine, NCTM, Meredith Ridgway, NCTM, Natalia Skovorodina, NCTM, Sara Toudouze, NCTM, Donna Vinarskai, NCTM, Jay Watley, NCTM, and Judy W. Wilkins, NCTM. Newly Certified teachers who were at the convention received their pin from TMTA President Janelle Schlaudt, NCTM
Immediate Past President Susan Conner, NCTM presented Mary Katherine Bakiris with the charter for the Bluebonnet MTA. This association is located west of Austin.
Conroe Past President Alecia Russell accepts the Local Association of the Year Award for Conroe MTA. Best of State Chair Rick Valentine made the presentation.
President Janelle Schlaudt, NCTM, presented Immediate Past President Susan Conner, NCTM, with a plaque for her ten years of service as an officer of TMTA.
UPSCALE, a local Barbershop Quartet entertained the membership at the First General Session.
TMTA Trustee Chairman Diane Morrow, NCTM, presented the Teacher Enrichment Grand to Sheryl Stack of Austin District MTA. (A note from Sheryl will appear in the Fall TMT.)
The new TMTA Officers for 2010-2012 are (l-r) VPSA Karen Wallace, VPBA Sharon Callahan, VPBA-elect Lydia Bratcher, NCTM, President-Elect Debra Hadfield, NCTM, President Diane Delk, NCTM, and Immediate Past President Janelle Schlaudt, NCTM.
Teacher Recognition Awards
The 2010 MTNA 50 year members were announced by Immediate Past President Susan Conner, NCTM. They are Mary Davis, NCTM and Jean Muelschen, NCTM, (pictured). Mary Skaro, Mary Lou Stockdale, and Martha Janie Throop, NCTM, were unable to attend.
