Trajan: Trajan was considerate and mindful to Republican tradition making sure that the position of emperor appeared again like that of a first citizen among peers (primes inter pares) rather than a tyrant that ruled at his own whims. Write a short eulogy for him, to be read at his funeral. Don´t forget to highlight what things made him a good ruler! 3. Gladiators: Imagine you are telling the story of one of the greatest gladiators ever: Gaticus Secus! Tell your grandkids of this savage fighter and what you felt watching him as he defeated his opponents in battle at the Colosseum. 4. Pecunia Non olet: Find out where this phrase comes from! Write down what you think about this weird Roman “business”. 5. Christmas: This date commemorates the birth of Jesus. But who chose which exact day it was? Where does this tradition come from?
