Dear Nobles,I hope everyone’s air conditioning is working well and hopefully we’ll have some cooler days in the near future. We’re just a few weeks away from the Potentate’s Ball, September 13th and 14th, I hope everyone who can will attend. The Seineyard Restaurant is catering the event on Saturday night and the band Stimulus Package will be playing. Ladies Bonnie Fisher, Sherry Gatlin and our High Priest and Prophet Jeff Hofmeister have been working hard on this event. They have received some expert advice along the way from Lady Sue McLendon and I’m sure they’re others that have helped. Lady Lisa and I greatly appreciate all their efforts in putting on this event. As in the past, the Potentate’s Ball invitation is posted in the Messenger for all our Nobles and their Ladies. Please RSVP as soon as you can to the temple.We’re getting in full swing on our Marzuq Golf Tournament. Monday, October 14th, at Golden Eagle. We need all our Nobles and Ladies support on this Hospital fund raiser. If you know someone who can purchase a sponsorship, provide gifts for our gift drawings, gifts for our goodie bags, golf players or can help on the tournament day please give me a call right away. Our tournament last year was a great success and the players had a great time. We’re hoping for even a bigger event this year.A great big THANKS goes out to Noble Geoff Hunt for all the work he’s put in on our new front porch/cover. This process has been going on for some time and Noble Geoff has been in charge from the start and has done an outstanding job. Noble Geoff has completed many projects around our temple through the years and continues to help wherever he can. When you see Geoff please thank him for all his efforts.

Pursuant to our recent By-law Amendment:

§5.2 Dues. (a) Suspension for nonpayment. A member who is one (1) year in arrears on hisdues is suspended, pursuant to the procedure recited in the bylaws of Shriners International,unless this temple votes to remit his dues, effective December 31, 2019.

Dear Nobles and Ladies,

Hope this finds everyone well. First things first, this summer has blown by extremely fast. I can’t believe football season is here and fall parade season is about to start. Keep checking your E-Mails for all of the parades that are coming up soon, and lets all try to attend as many as possible. The Forest festival parade in October is sure to be a blast again this year. Please let Patrick or John know that your Parade unit is coming so we can plan.

Melissa and I have had a wonderful time at the Imperial session in Nashville, and several of the Potentates balls this year. Hope that everyone can come out and support Bennarr and Lady Lisa at their ball in September. There are several things that are going on for the remainder of this year, golf tournament, and the Boston butt sale. Please continue to come out and support our Temple and local shrine clubs. We need everyone to continue to support our #1 cause, and that is for the KIDS.

Behind the scenes there is much going on at the Marzuq Temple. The office staff is always busy. The Divan meets and texts regularly. The drivers are out getting our Shrine patients and their families to hospitals. Much of what is done by our nobles cannot be advertised to the public because of confidentiality for children and medical rules. We always seek God’s Guidance in our gatherings and meetings and we find our peace in that Guidance. Geoff Hunt has put a new entrance to the door. His work done in the heat of the summer now casts a shadow on those entering our temple. Thanks again Geoff........ you really nailed it this time. Further down the hill is our new landscaping and sprinkler system. The weeds are under control and the area is beginning to blossom. Take a walk there next time and see the monument to a very dedicated noble of our Temple. There was some controversy about the color of the pine bark used. Turned out it was “mulch” to do about nothing. There are many events in the next several weeks and all are more fun with more participation.......not to mention safety in numbers. First off is our Friday Boarding Party and Saturday Potentate’s Ball with a fantasy cruise theme. All the fun of a party on a ship without Customs, searches, luggage, sunburns or sea sickness. Plenty of fun to have without going overboard.

Greetings, Nobles and Ladies. I’m pleased and excited to inform you that you may now pay your dues online at webfez.shrinenet.org. Marzuq has joined with many other Temples whose members are able to pay their dues directly into WebFez (Shrine International’s software used by Temples all over the world). Your dues have already been assessed, and you should be getting your mailed dues notice within the next few days, if you haven’t already.

I encourage you to pay your dues via credit or debit card this year, as it will cut down on the administrative work Jan and I have to do, since your payment will automatically be entered into WebFez, negating the need for us to type your information into the computer. I paid mine as soon as we got it set up, and the whole process, once I logged into WebFez, took less than a minute. If you enter your email address on the payment page, you will automatically be sent a receipt.

To take advantage of this exciting new benefit, you have to set up a FREE account at webfez.shrinenet.org. Click on REGISTER and follow the prompts. You will be asked to select your Temple from a drop-down list (Marzuq follows Mahi), your member number, which you will find on your dues notice and your dues card, email address which will be your login ID, and to create a password. Once you login, you will see your WebFez information. You will also see a link on the right side named “Pay My Bill”. Click that button, click “YES” on the box which pops up informing you that you are being redirected to the Marzuq Shrine pay my bill site, and follow the prompts, and your 2020 dues will be paid and automatically recorded into our system. You may also enter amounts above your dues total to donate to the Hospital or the Temple, just like on your printed dues statement.

You may still pay by check, cash, direct bank draft (like BillPay) as you always have, if you prefer. Call the Temple if you have questions or need assistance.
