Intercede with Us for the Muslim World! Genesis 18:20-33 gives the touching account of an intercessor . Abraham approached the Lord on behalf of the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. His own nephew, Lot, attracted by the greener pastures around them, had chosen to live in the midst of their immorality. When God threatened to destroy these cities, Abraham pleaded for mercy, not the judgment they deserved. Finding no righteous people, God destroyed them, but “remembered Abraham” and spared Lot. As we intercede for Muslims, may we approach the Lord with such an attitude o f mercy and a great desire that they see the Truth. Today's Prayer Requests: From Students and Alumni GHANA: An alumnus asks for prayer concerning the growth of a  zongo (Musl im neigh borho od) in Kumasi . This large city is highly Christianized, but as Islam spreads, Muslims are bu ying land and schools and are building mosques next to schools. They are opening a senior high school and are becoming more involved in politics. He asks that the Lord “grant us grace to win Muslims.” BENIN: An alumna asks that we pray (1) for the churches in Benin, that they would open their eyes to the growth of Islam around them and the need to reach Muslims, (2) for a project in her church to form teams that will pray and reach out, (3) concerning pressure from Muslims who are trying to dominate certain towns, especially in the north. Pray that churches and believers will stand firm and influence these people for God's gl ory .  In the News SYRIA: A worker in the Middle East sends this urgent prayer request: “Please join us in praying for Rev. Pray that God will be glorified in this situation and that He will strengthen our  brothers and their families during this very d ifficult time.” MALI: In the face of possible international military intervention, the Muslim extremist group Ansar Dine announced Tuesday that it rejects “all forms of extremism and terrorism” and is pleading with other gro ups to be open to dialog.
