•BAPTISMS / BAUTIZOS/ BATTESIMO Baptism are celebrated once a month on a Sunday after the 12:30 Mass in Spanish and 2:00pm in English. The dates for the Baptism of children and for the Pre-Baptismal instruction of parents should be arranged in the rectory ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE. In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.
•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

“Brothers and sisters: The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because the loaf of bread is one we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.” The simple questions St. Paul asked his Christian community at Corinth are directed to us on this great day for our Catholic community. The danger of routinely
approaching the altar and receiving the Eucharist is shaken as we read his important questions. People wait hours to catch a glimpse of a hero, a star or idol. Many thousands gather in St. Peter’s square weekly to see the Holy Father, hear his message and receive his blessing. But every time we meet for mass, Jesus is present in the gift of the Eucharist. He is present for adoration in the tabernacle, waiting for our praise and thanksgiving. Jesus is truly present in this sacrament for He wanted to remain with us, and this is the way He chose to be here. May we be reminded of this great gift of His presence as we enter our church. May we teach our children the need for respect and reverence as we celebrate each mass. “Hermanos y hermanas: La copa de bendición que bendecimos, ¿no es acaso comunión con la Sangre de Cristo? Y el pan que partimos, ¿no es comunión con el Cuerpo de Cristo? Ya que hay un solo pan, todos nosotros, aunque somos muchos, formamos un solo Cuerpo, porque participamos de ese único pan.” Las simples preguntas que San Pablo les hizo a su comunidad cristiana en Corinto se nos dirigen a nosotros en este gran día de la comunidad católica. El peligro de caer en rutina al acercarnos al altar a recibir la eucaristía se debilita al leer estas importantes preguntas. Hay gente que espera horas para poder atisbar a un héroe, estrella o ídolo. Miles se congregan en la plaza de San Pedro cada semana para ver al Santo Padre, escuchar su mensaje y recibir su bendición. Cada vez que vamos a misa, Jesús está presente en el don de la Eucaristía. Está presente en el tabernáculo, esperando nuestras alabanzas y agradecimiento. Jesús está verdaderamente presente en este sacramento porque El deseaba quedarse con nosotros y esta es la forma que ha escogido para hacerlo. Permítannos recordarles de este gran don de Su presencia al entrar a nuestra iglesia. Ojalá que les enseñemos a nuestros hijos la necesidad de respeto y reverencia al celebrar cada misa.
Oggi festeggiamo il sacramento dell’Eucaristia che il Signore ci ha lasciato come segno della sua presenza, della sua realtà corporale, del suo sacrificio sulla croce e della vita eterna di cui ci ha reso partecipi. Gesù ce ne parla in termini di corpo e di cibo. La realtà del dono del Padre alla nostra umanità si esprime, dall’inizio alla fine, sotto forma di corpo. Si tratta dapprima della realtà carnale del corpo fatto di carne e sangue, che soffre e muore
sulla croce. È questo corpo ferito che risorge e che Gesù dà da vedere e da toccare agli apostoli. Ma Gesù non si ferma qui. Suo corpo è anche la Chiesa, corpo mistico di cui Cristo è la testa. Ed è infine questo corpo sacramentale che nutre coloro che lo mangiano: “Prendete e mangiate: questo è il mio corpo!”. Già i primi cristiani paragonarono il corpo spezzato di Cristo al grano, macinato in farina per diventare pane, dopo essere stato mischiato all’acqua della vita e passato nel fuoco dello Spirito. Questo pane spirituale, fatto dal grano del campo che è Gesù, divenendo, come il vino dell’Eucaristia, nostro cibo, nutre in noi la vita divina, che è vita eterna. E Gesù, ancora una volta, afferma: “Io sono”. Qui dice: “Io sono il pane”. Gesù costituisce il solo nutrimento che possa dare la vita divina. Chi non mangia di questo pane non avrà la vita in lui. Ecco perché noi celebriamo oggi la realtà umana e divina del Verbo fatto carne e anche quella del corpo risorto; ed ecco perché ci dà davvero quanto promesso. Attraverso lui, siamo concretamente in comunione con il nostro Dio. Bisogna essere presenti alla sua presenza reale.

THE 2017 CARDINAL’S APPEAL ! At present we have not reached the
Appeal Goal of $58,000 that was assessed for our parish. The total that has been pledged at this time is shy of $40,000.
It is requested that if a family has not pledged or contributed, that they consider doing so. We are called to assist our brothers and sisters in need as
well as to assist in the education of our youth and in caring for our retired Religious Sisters and Brothers.
Our prayers and financial assistance to our Seminarians should also gain our attention. Let us
all consider a financial contribution in order that we may lessen the burdens of those who are in need.

We will not have registrations this week Registration for the year 2017 -2018 will be
held from June 26th through June 30th from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Parish Rectory.

A FOND FAREWELL
As many of you know,
Father Jeba will be leaving
us in July. Father has been with
us for three years, the time
his Bishop in India gave him. On Saturday, July 1st,
Father will celebrate the 5:00pm Mass.
Following the Mass, we will be having a farewell
gathering in the school gymnasium. Please plan
to be with us to show our gratitude to Fr. Jeba for
his spiritual guidance through out these years.
THE MAMARONECK COLUMBIETTES AUXILIARY Will be joining forces with the Harrison
Auxiliary Edward F. O’Sullivan on June 30, 2017. We want to thank the Parish for allowing our
great organization to meet in the Parish Center and for all of the support given when need . Many thanks go out to Father Jeba who as our Chaplain
provided spiritual nourishment and education. Thank you to our brothers in faith the Mamaroneck
Knights of Columbus. Our deep appreciation and thanks go out to all the parishioners who participated in and contributed to our events and fund raisers. Of course, heartfelt thanks go out to all our very special and dear members who collectively made a difference for the
various charities we are committed to helping.

FIESTA DE DESPEDIDA
Como muchos de ustedes saben, el Padre Jeba nos dejara en julio.
El Padre ha estado con nosotros durante tres años,
tiempo que le dio su Obispo en la India.
El sábado 1 de julio, el Padre celebrará la Misa de las 5:00pm y después de la Misa, tendremos una
reunión de despedida en el gimnasio de la escuela. Por favor planee estar con nosotros para
mostrar nuestra gratitud al Padre Jeba por su guía espiritual a lo largo de estos años.
