“We use Udder Comfort™ spray for hard quarters and fresh cows. After seeing the ads, we saw big benefi ts in using it for mastitis and to get SCC under control. Making it part of our protocol helps with longevity, fewer repeats, and faster, fuller recovery,” says Ben Smith. He and his father operate two dairies totaling 4500 cows near Clovis, New Mexico.
Ben’s parents Albin and Sandi grew up on dairies in Phoenix, moved with 28 cows to New Mexico in the mid-70s, then in the early 80s Albin worked in the dairy industry. Ben recalls riding many a mile with him, seeing dairies.
“Dad traveled and Mom started raising calves and selling short breds and springers,” Ben refl ects. “Mom hated letting them go, so by 1992, we had springers and got back into dairying.”
Today, SAS and Arrowhead Dairies are run as one large dairy with all animals calving at Arrowhead.
There, Udder Comfort is sprayed on udders for a couple days after calving.
“With Udder Comfort in our protocols, we cut down on medicine bills and have cows back in the milking string faster. We use it for its effi cacy,” says Ben. “Others are no comparison. Udder Comfort is the best.”
