    A historic swim, a runner-up nish and coach of the year award put tting cap on a successful 2011 Swimming and Diving Championships.

    Alexandra Hoffman nished off the nal meet of her career in grandashion by placing second with a school record 200 backstroke of 2 minut.87 seconds breaking her own mark set during the 2008 Championships. Shnds her career with 53 career wins and eight school records.

    Freshman Kaylin Caron set a school record of her own with a time of2.70 sec. in the 100 freestyle.

    Hoffman and Caron teamed with Shauna Foor and Ashley Valdez to sethe sixth SDSU womens record of the Championships with a 400 freestyleelay nish of 3:32.07.

    The Jacks nished second behind Oakland with 625.5 points, which waood enough to earn SDSUs Brad Erickson Summit League Womens Coach ofhe Year.

    Chris Schreier broke his own record in winning the 200 buttery in:49.06 to become the rst Jackrabbit on the mens side to win a confer-nce event since Benji Erickson at the 2001 NCC Championships. It was thendiana natives 21st win on the season as he set at least one record eac

    f the four days with six total.Phil Albu broke a 10 year-old 200 backstroke record set by Ericksonlocking in at 1:50.52.

    Both freshmen, along with John Bisson and Kyle Ochsner, ended theight setting a new SDSU record in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:07.85.

    The men, while setting 11 school records over four days, improved onpot on the nal day to nish third with 504 points.
