Sport - Construction Group

Kanahooka High School’s Construction sport group have completed a 12 metre

section of a retaining wall in an effort to redirect the water and debris that has

been damaging an existing school storage shed. The students led by Mr Ivatt,

the schools construction teacher, developed a proposal to retain the identified

area with a timber structure and submitted plans as well as an itemised material

list in preparation for the project . When asked about the progress of the project,

Mr Ivatt said, “I was very impressed by this group of students who all worked

hard and demonstrated great teamwork to complete the project within the

allocated time”. When asked what is the future for the group, Mr Ivatt said, “I

feel the team is capable of completing most projects around the school and that

the group are always keen for new members to be involved in future projects.”

Library News

Ms Lynch and Ms Etheridge went to the Scholastic Book Sale last week and purchased a fantastic array

of new exciting books for students. Ms Lynch is madly cataloguing and processing these books so that

they are available for students as soon as possible.

One of our new purchases included a series by James Phelan called The Last Thirteen. Find it at the

library!

The library has also put some amazing titles on display to

commemorate the centenary of Anzac Day, including some

wonderful picture books by Australian authors. Check them

out!

If you find any books with the Kanahooka High School

barcode on them, it would be greatly appreciated if you

return them to the library.

Host Families Wanted

An exciting opportunity to meet someone new and share our Australian lifestyle!

Japanese students will be visiting us in Term 3 and we need host families to take them in.

Please see Mrs Ursino in the HSIE staffroom or contact by phone on 4261 4011 if you are interested.

It will come true.

Kidnapped from school and finding out his parents aren't who

he thinks they are, Sam is suddenly running from danger at every turn. Nothing will ever be the same again.

With his life and identity shattered, Sam's salvation is tied to an

ancient prophecy. He is in the final battle to save the world, up

against an enemy plotting to destroy us all.

He alone can find the last thirteen.
