1. ePIC Moments

“Powerful African stories captured in images”

The interns who will come to Kenya and will be instructed

to take photos but there will be some that will stand out.

The Intern is required to tell a story behind the picture of

their choice, bringing it to life and sharing it with people

back home. The images from ePIC moments will promote

Africa as the first choice destination for AIESEC

internships. The interns will be supporting us in this way

to better portray what Africa truly is, breaking

stereotypes and helping us to build a new story; all by

this doing something as simple as sharing their point of

view through photo and the story behind it.

2. Untold Africa

“Stories to inspire”

Non-governmental organizations and influential community leaders

play a key role in building Africa’s future. Their stories often go untold

but they can inspire us to play our role in building the future of our local

communities.

This activity requires interns to volunteer at an NGO or shadow an

influential community leader for at least a day. During this day, interns’

role will be to act as a reporter of what these people and organizations

do and how they contribute to the building of a better Africa. The

interns will also prepare a short video documentary as output so that

they can get these stories out and start portraying a different face of

Africa.

AFRICAINME

Page 18: Kenya2booklet

3. EsSense

“Sensing the essence of Africa”

In Africa we embrace life with a high sense of appreciation for everything that allows us to use our senses to truly touch and feel in our bodies the experience of being alive.

A database of local artists and craftsmen/women will be provided to the interns. They will then have a chance to organize an event for the hosting community in which to experience and learn from the community and their craft as a way to dignify life The interns are expected to become great reporters and capture on video and pictures these special activities. These videos will be used to showcase the interns’ experience and what he/she has learned from the artist chosen. At the same time will help us to share with the word the incredible beauty behind the art work of these remarkable people in our local communities.

4. Activ8 joy

“Playing for a Purpose”

Sports and games is what unite communities by bringing

people together with common goal in mind. Providing joy

and happiness to children is an added benefit and one that

will make the interns’ experience of Africa complete.

By taking part in Activ8 joy, the interns will organize sports

events for the local community. Another option will be to

organize fun days, comprising of games and entertainment

for underprivileged children in our local communities.
