Urban Space + Occupant OneNewstand + Bus Shelter2B Studio - Spring 20102B Studio - Spring 2010

In the design process for this project, a series of interventions were developed.

The concept of the newstand + bus shel-ter is Computer Systems because of the focus of the circulation between spaces,

and the influence of the grid system of the city of Miami Beach within. Then, lines were linked accordingly to the site analy-

sis, which facilitated the design.

The urban space have diferent levels showing a variety of layers

of information. In this levels you can experience beautiful views

to the ocean, fisher island and Downtown Miami. I gave the

design a L shape because of my understanding of the site, taking some lines of the diagrams and

joining them. The project consists in creating a series of spaces on

a single structure. The model had to be done by using different type

of medias, including Computer Parts.

This hotel project was located in North Miami Beach, on collins

ave. and 65 St. The main feature of it was the gardens, from the main entrance to the different

roof gardens. The use of different contemporary materials such as,

glass, concrete, metal, water, green areas, and so on, made

this hotel unique within the area of Miami Beach.

Modern designs also utilise space as effectively as most

people desire their garden to be uncluttered yet inviting, rather

than bare.

After visiting the site and analiz-ing it, it was concluded that the

site is located in the center of that area. So, the idea was to have the site working as the heart of

kendall. Why a heart? Because it is a central point between the ex-isting residential and commercial area. The museum houses differ-ent types of art, sculptures, and transportation. The final design was based on the concept, the

heart, it does not have literally the shape of a heart, but it is divided

on the interior by the same way a heart is. Also, I had to create

an open theater for schools and events, welcoming the public into

it.

The Exhibition of spaces consisted on the practice of creating and defining spaces within a structure. In this proj-ect we had to adapt hierarchy on the context, and create a threshold to di-vide the exterior and the interior. Open areas were created, and used glass to deal with the natural light, which is a very important issue on a space for exhibition. Circulation between the spaces is the concept of the project, because I realized that this is a sig-nificant issue in this type of project. I created different levels and spaces, so the people could move through the en-tire structure and experience a series of threshold, entries and approaches.
