Gg One hexagon measures 5" at wid-

    est point.

    NoteS

Three color combinations are used in

this bag: Gray base with yellow stripes

(gray base); white base with gray

stripes (white base); and yellow base

    with white stripes (yellow base).

Base colors begin and end each

hexagon. Each stripe is worked ortwo rounds; alternate colors every two

    rounds as you work hexagons.

    Almost jogless join: These hexagons

use an easy method to hide the jog

produced by knitting stripes in the

round. Beore knitting the irst stitch

o a new color, cross your yarns as or

intarsia (new color behind old color),

trapping the old color. Continue knit-

ting stripe in rounds. Beore changing

colors again, tug gently on the old color

    strand to align the stripes.

    When changing colors within a

hexagon, dont cut yarn; carry colorsin a spiral up the wrong side o the

hexagons, always twisting old and new

    yarns when changing colors.

    Work hexagons in numerical order

ollowing diagram. Cast on or pick up

    stitches as indicated.

This bag can be worked with double-

pointed needles, two circulars, or the

    magic-loop method. Because o the provisional cast-on,

you may need to adjust the tension o

the cast-on stitches as you work across

looseness across the row to one place,

pull the extra yarn to the wrong side

and leave a loop. During inishing, cut

the loop and weave in the ends; elting

    will secure them.

You can arrange the colors in any way

a solid color or alternate colors every
