Wild Dog Fence Extension Project
The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) trading as SoilConservation Service propose to extend the Wild Dog Fence along the NewSouth Wales (NSW) / South Australian (SA) border. The proposed new fencewould commence at the southern end of the existing NSW/SA dog fence nearBroughman’s Gate and extend south for approximately 320km to a point justsouth of the intersection with Old Wentworth Road in the south.
The Wild Dog Fence Extension Project will require an Aboriginal Cultural HeritageAssessment (ACHA) to support the environmental impact statement (EIS). Assuch, DPIE is implementing the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage ConsultationRequirements for Proponents (DECCW 2010). The purpose of communityconsultation is to assist DPIE in the identification, assessment and managementof Aboriginal objects or places along the NSW/SA border.
Registrations of interest are invited from Aboriginal people/organisations who mayhold cultural knowledge relevant to determining the significance of Aboriginalobjects or places along the NSW/SA border.
