LocationMy home town is Kumamoto in Japan. It is on the south island and it is a middle size city. From Tokyo to Kumamoto is 1hour 35minutes by airplane. Also from Seoul to Kumamoto is 1Hour 35minutes by airplane. Kumamoto is near South Korea. About 670,000 people live there. People are kind and friendly.

Down TownKumamoto city has a tram car in down town.

The city tram is very convenient and fun for taking a tour of Kumamoto city.

Kumamoto CastleI recommend Kumamoto Castle. It was constructed by Kato Kiyomasa in 1607 who spent 7 long years to complete it. It is a very interesting area.

ONSEN “Hot Springs”

If you visit Kumamoto, you must go to the Onsen. Onsen are hot springs.

Kumamoto has many types. There are many open-air baths. You will have a luxurious time.

SHINKANSENOne of the things that many foreign visitors want to do in Japan is to ride the Shinkansen. I recommend the Shinkansen for taking a tour of Japan. Kyoto and Nara are especially traditional areas. One of the most popular pastimes for Japanese people is to go and stay in a Japanese ryokan which has an onsen. A ryokan is a Japanese-style inn. Please enjoy a ryokan in a traditional town.
