Personal Statement – Mohammad Molani

My experience in university represented one of the most thrilling and chaotic

experiences of my life. It taught me to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and

most importantly, to thrive on teams. College life as a mechanical engineering

student was not easy, but worth it. I studied under the best professors who truly

wanted to see me excel in my studies and career. I cannot put a price on my

university experience because it has built me as a person and helped determine my

desired career. I came to the United States in 2010 to work on my English

communication skills at Michigan State University and decided to pursue a

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering because I felt that I would gain a great

education and learning experience in the United States.

I wish to participate in the Professional Development Initiative primarily to

utilize my academic skills and knowledge with an American company and later, to

apply these new skills in Kuwait. I possess many skills ranging from programming

to leadership and management. Not only am I passionate about this industry, but I

am also driven to deliver unique ideas that will help form a better company. I have

developed communication skills from working directly with my professors and

teammates on real life projects, which can assist me when I work on high-profile

projects.

I am willing to relocate and would prefer to live in Scottsdale, Phoenix, or

Tempe, Arizona. My second preference would be San Diego, San Francisco, Irvine,

Los Angeles, Anaheim, or Northridge, California, and my third choice would be

Miami, Florida.

A successful PDI experience would mean gaining the confidence that I can

multi-task, solve problems, and use great people skills. A successful experience

would include the people that I speak and interact with, and I realize it will only be

useful as I make it to be. I am determined to make this experience critical to my

professional development.
