Improved Environmental Outcomes

Presenter
Presentation Notes
But LEED was always intended to evolve with the market, as illustrated here, and LEED version 4 is about taking the next big step towards market transformation, towards raising the ceiling and pulling up the floor of building performance. In fact, as you may recall, balloting of Version 4 was deliberately delayed a full year in order to allow more public comment and revision, to make sure that v4 was the best possible rating system for the market at this time. This also allowed more time for the market to adapt and prepare itself, and for tools to be developed, as we will see later. The input from these 22,000 comments was critical in establishing the right balance.

Presenter
Presentation Notes
While there can be an additional cost associated with building green as compared to a conventional building, the cost premium is typically not as high as is perceived by the development industry.
