On 25th June 2013, we welcome the Hart Group as a member of the Leeden Group. Incorporated since 1971, the Hart Group is an established Singapore-based specialist supplier, manufacturer and contractor in the field of fire protection equipment and system. Recognized as an industry leader in Singapore, Hart Group is a recipient of the 2010 Enterprise 50 Award.

The synergy with Hart Group further strengthens Leeden’s mission to achieve market leadership in Asia’s Marine, Oil and Gas industries and ensure high customer value by providing integrated services and solutions for welding, gas and safety.

Hart’s existing range of fire protection equipment and system and technical team will expand Leeden’s current range of firefighting equipment, systems and solutions under the Eversafe brand. Leeden’s value preposition to customers is enhanced with Hart’s technical expertise in these fields.

The Hart Group will be an integral member of Leeden’s Safety Division and work closely with Leeden’s Eversafe Group of Companies.

Fire & DisasterAsia 2013Singapore

Leeden Australia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leeden Limited, was proud to be a participant in the Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition (AOG) 2013 event. Held once again at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre from the 20th to 22nd of February this year, the three-day event featured over 450 exhibitors from across 16 countries, with the number of trade show visitors exceeding 11,000.

The Leeden Australia team’s objective of participating in the exhibition was to increase the awareness of the Leeden brand in the Australian market, as well as to showcase its range of welding products. During the exhibition, 2 main brands were featured- P.I.P.E and Mirage. P.I.P.E products on display included pipe-handling equipment, cold cutting equipment and purging systems, while Mirage welding equipment featured included flange-facing and line-boring equipment.

To show the quality of Leeden Australia’s range of welding products, live demonstrations were performed. The demonstrations featured P.I.P.E’s plate beveller machine and internal diameter beveling machine, which were performed by Mr Peter Boczkariw of P.I.P.E.

On 22nd March 2013, PT Leeden Indonesia moved into its new office - a 3-storey multi-purpose unit complete with sales office, warehouse, workshop and meeting room situated in Tebet, Jakarta Selatan, Indonesia.

The main purpose of the relocation was to have the various business functions together under one roof for effective business operations.

Led by Mr Kelvin Lee, Pak Tjandra Harjadi and Mr Keith Lee with full confidence and inspiration to achieve the goals of growth and profitability, the opening ceremony was celebrated by distinguished guests including directors, managers and staff from Hasuda Group, customers, suppliers and PT Leeden Indonesia staff.

Guests were provided with a quick tour of the new office facilities and treated to a buffet spread including Indonesia’s famous nasi tumpeng dish.

PT Leeden Indonesia has a New Home

The Fire and Disaster Asia 2013 exhibition held from 7th and 9th May 2013 attracted many visitors, mainly practitioners and specialists in the firefighting industry of Singapore. Eversafe Extinguisher Pte Ltd seized the opportunity to launch Eversafe's new SETSCO approved fire fighting hose and kitchen hood suppression systems, as well as to promote greater awareness for household safety by promoting its home defense package which consists of a 1kg dry powder extinguisher, battery operated smoke alarm and fire blanket. The home defense package was well received by the general public.

During the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) Seminar held in conjunction with the event, the Eversafe Singapore team was able to network with many fire professionals in Singapore and gained new insights in the developments of the fire fighting industry.

Leeden reinforces the need to stay ahead of competition by equipping sales staff with a marketing framework that they can tap on to improve their sales. To achieve this, the Leeden National Sales and Marketing Seminar, spearheaded by our CEO Mr Steven Tham, was tailor-made exclusively for the management and sales team of the Leeden Group.

Held from 29th to 30th March 2013 at the Sunway Resort Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the intensive 2-day seminar saw 24 presentations by 18 enthusiastic speakers - all Leeden staff. Topics presented encapsulated the framework for sustainable marketing. Presenters drew on their experiences and shared case studies, providing practical applications relevant to Leeden’s line of business. Through the seminar, members of the group also gained better insights into the important processes and support available.

“A company’s ability to create value for its stakeholders is what determines a company’s existence,” shares Mr Steven Tham, Chairman & CEO of Leeden Group during his closing presentation, with reference to the 3 main stakeholders of the company – Customers, People and Shareholders.

MetalTech 2013, the 18 th Internat ional Manufacturing Solutions event was held from 21st to 25th May 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Featuring more than 1,000 exhibitors, the event was attended by more than 25,000 trade visitors over the 5-day period.

Leeden took this opportunity to feature its wide range of welding, safety and gas products. Filler metal brands on display included Hobart, McKay, TriMark, Elga, Selectarc, Unisco, Special Metals and BlueMetals, while welding accessories from Auweld, Flexovit, Weiler, Bibielle, Procut and EGA Master were proudly showcased.

Product demonstrations of welding equipments from OTC, JÄCKLE and Fronius were performed by Leeden’s product managers and brand partners, while other welding equipment brands such as Auweld Equipment, Miller and Shindaiwa were featured at the exhibition booth.

The Safety Division also provided a demonstration on Nederman’s environmental protection products and showcased its range of high quality safety brands, including Uvex, Red Wing Shoes, Ringer Gloves, Sundstrom, Fibre Metal, Worx and Aces.

Leeden Welding Sdn Bhd partnered MARA University of Technology’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Excellence Centre (AMTEX) for the first time to specially organize an Advanced Welding Processes technical talk at its campus in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. Aimed at sharing technical knowledge on Cold Metal Transfer and Robotics Laser Welding & Cutting System for the benefit of the manufacturing sector, the 20th May 2013 event attracted over 120 participants comprising engineers, specialists, lecturers and researchers.

The day’s highlights included a sharing session on Recent Advanced Welding Technology of Fronius CMT and demonstration of the Fronius Transpulse Synergic by Mr Robert Drumm, Application Technician at Fronius, and a presentation on the Recent Advanced Welding Technology of REIS Robotics Laser Welding & Cutting System by Dr Malte Hillebrand, Business Development Manager at Reis Robotics China and Mr Desmond Ngern, Senior Sales Engineer at Reis Robotics Singapore. The event was a success and another technical seminar will be organized at the end of this year.

Oil & Gas Asia 2013, the 14th Asian Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Engineering exhibition was held from 5th to 7th June 2013 and over 1,500 exhibitors drew a sizable crowd of more than 20,000 attendees.

Participating once again this year, Leeden’s booth featured its stellar range of welding equipment, filler metals, welding accessories and safety products.

Apart from the stable selection of high quality brands including Hobart, Elga, McKay, Tanaka, Mathey Dearman, OTC, Black Stallion, Huntingdon, Sundstrom and Fibre-Metal, Leeden took the opportunity to showcase new product brands including HanJoong, a Korean brand providing customized shipbuilding and offshore equipment, factory automation and robot system and crane system solutions.

In partnership with Haws, DBI-SALA, Nederman and DÜRR, Leeden’s Safety division organized an exclusive technical talk session on work safety in hazardous industrial environments which was held on 28th May 2013 at the Intercontinental Singapore.

The half-day event was kick-started by Mr Scot B. McLean, Vice President of Sales and General Manager for International Operations of Haws Corporation who provided an insight on Haws and AXION technology. Following a short tea break, Mr Torbjörn Larsson, Senior Technical Advisor & Head of QSS APAC from Nederman shared on the topic of working with explosive dust in manufacturing, which was followed by a presentation on safe working at heights by Mr Drew Alexander Waterhouse, Technical Sales & Training Manager, a representative of DBI-SALA from Capital Safety Group Asia PL. Mr Ivan Chong from Leeden’s Safety Division gave an introduction to DÜRR’s thermal oxidation for VOC laden exhaust and flue gas treatment.

Participants left the event with a better understanding of the protections needed to counter various degrees of safety hazards present in the industrial work environments.
