• CompuTrace in the BIOS: This security feature is one of the best ways to recover a stolen device. If a device is stolen and the hard drive replaced, CompuTrace can reinstall itself from the BIOS and “phone home” to iden-tify its location.

• Biometric access control: Lenovo was also the first company to put fingerprint readers on PCs, and we’ve extended this protection to ThinkPad X1 devices. Bio-metric access enables IT to specify strong authentication policies without frustrating end users with complicated passwords. Workers use their fingerprint to log in, which ensures only authorized users can access the system while eliminating the risk of weak passwords, over-the-shoulder password spying, and other threats.

• Option to disable USB ports: One of the biggest secu- rity challenges for any IT organization is preventing external and potentially malicious files and apps from loading onto corporate devices. With the ThinkPad X1 family, IT can enable endpoint protection to prevent an infected memory stick from accessing the system through USB ports.

The X1 Carbon features a Windows 10 Pro operating system and sixth-generation Intel i7-6600U with vPro for secure device management. An optional WiGig Dock will soon be available with 2K display so users can wirelessly connect dual dis-plays, audio devices, and more.
