RECITATION (31 - 37)

طبكم حا خححف …. [Ibrahim] said, "Then what is your business [here], O

messengers?"

Ibrahim عليه السلام knew that the angels who had come to him, could not have come just to give him

good news of the birth of his son. For that even one angel would have been sufficient. Why a group

of angels? He knew there was more to the story.

34: Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors."

Meaning for each stone, it is determined, it was decreed where it should land and who it should hit

and where.

35: So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers.

36: And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims.

Only one house and that was the house of Lut عليه السلام

37: And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.

When the angels came to Ibrahim عليه السلام he was in فلسطين at that time and the cities where the

punishment were brought to, this punishment was to be brought to the cities of دوم and عمرة where

Lut عليه السلام had been calling people for a very long time. But despite his many efforts people were

not willing to change. And we learn even his wife did not believe in him, she betrayed him.

And what was the sin of these people? They were addicted to a particular desire, lust, and they were

unwilling to change their behaviour, to change their habits, so what happened? Ultimately the

punishment of Allah came upon them. Lut عليه السلام and his family were brought out and the

remaining people, they were picked up, thrown down, rained with stones, swallowed by the earth and

drowned in the water. And the one who wants to take a lesson, can take a lesson from this, and leave

his sins, leave disobedience to Allah.

38: And in Musa [was a sign], when We sent him to فرعن with clear authority.

39: But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman."

40: So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy.

41: And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind.

42: It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins.

43: And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time."

They didn’t listen!

They couldn’t escape when the punishment came, they couldn’t escape despite all their prosperity,

their resources, their riches, they couldn’t run away.

disobedient.

Take a lesson from all these incidents. Leave your sins, pay attention to your Lord, run to your Lord.

When is it that a person runs in a particular direction, to a particular goal? When he likes it. When is

it that you will run, when is it you see children running to a particular truck? When it is the Ice-

Cream Truck! Because they like it.

When we see some benefit in something for ourselves we run towards it. This is why we set some

things as our goals, centre of our life, our focus, when a person’s objectives and goals are clear then

no one needs to tell him to run, or does anyone have to tell him to run? No way! When your

objective is clear nobody needs to tell you ‘run’, it’s not difficult to run then. When the goal is clear,

Page 4: Lesson 27: Az-Zariyaat Al-Hadid PART-A AL-ZARIYAAT 31 ...data.alhudamedia.com/Media/Al-Quran/Fahm_al-Quran/FQ2015...Juzz # 27 ن مهف أرقلا 2015 انم لبقت انبر Page

the person can run. And you see a person can only be productive in life when he has a goal, to which

he is running to.

Now what should be, who should be our goal, ultimate focus of our lives? Allah(عزوجل). That every

effort of mine is in the direction, towards Allah. I want Allah to be happy. Everything, everything I

am doing I want Allah to be happy with me, I want His pleasure. And this is why it is necessary that

we find in our hearts immense love for Allah, greatest love for Allah alone, greatest fear of Him

alone that no one needs to push us - “Come on get up and pray! Come on get up and recite the قرآن!”

Nobody needs to push us and motivate us to obey Allah, we would run ourselves. This is why love

for Allah is essential.

1The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that:

“Allah says that, ‘O son of Adam get up for me I will walk to you…

هرول ا ليك ليك، وامشه ا لي أ لي أ مشه ا ا

يا ابنح أ دم ق

… get up for Me, I will walk to you, walk towards me and I will rush to you.’”

This is why never delay, run to Allah seek His protection, seek His help.

51: And do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity….

No one is worthy of being an equal to Him.

…. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.

52: Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A

magician or a madman."

53: Did they suggest it to them?.....

It’s amazing how old generations, new generations, everybody saying the same thing about the

prophets, “Magician, madman!”

…. Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.

54: So leave them, [O Prophet], for you are not to be blamed.

can say, “Yes, I know, don’t need to be reminded,” No, every person needs to be reminded.

The Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“The believer has been created in difficulties….

Meaning his life is going to be full of difficulties

….he is oft repentant…

Meaning he makes many mistakes then he keeps doing Tawbah to Allah

….he is very forgetful….

He learns and he forgets and then he remembers and goes to Allah

…. and when he is reminded he remembers

he takes a lesson.

He doesn’t say, “Don’t tell me, look at your ownself, go tell somebody else, go advise somebody

else.” No, when he is reminded, he pays attention, he acknowledges his error, he corrects himself, he

searches for good, so he takes it wherever he finds it.

بدونه :56 لهيحليح نسح ا ه ال ه وح

نيح هلحقت ال ا خح مح And I did not create the jinn and mankind……وح

except to worship Me.

This أ ة reminds us of the purpose of our existence, for what purpose we have been sent to the world.

What is that purpose? To worship Allah. And to worship Allah correctly what is essential for us to

do? Firstly, know Allah. Who is Allah? Do I even know Him? Because if I don’t know Him, who am

I worshipping? If I don’t know His names and attributes, how can I please Him? How can you please

someone without knowing them?

This is why many scholars have interpreted “ بدونه لهيحح لي “ as ” ا ه

ح لي فنه ا ه ره لهيح ” That they should

recognise me, they should come to know of me.

The Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“He who died knowing fully well that there is no God but Allah, he will enter Paradise.”

The person who dies with this knowledge, this awareness, this يقين that there is no God but Allah.

And this is the basic tenet, the basic principle that people should be taught, the first thing that, “Allah

is our Lord and we have to worship Him.”

This is why the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم when he sent :to Yemen, he said ماذ بن جبل

2 [5522:السلسلة الصحيحة] مفتنا تواب نساء ، إذا ذك ذكإن المؤمن خلق

Page 6: Lesson 27: Az-Zariyaat Al-Hadid PART-A AL-ZARIYAAT 31 ...data.alhudamedia.com/Media/Al-Quran/Fahm_al-Quran/FQ2015...Juzz # 27 ن مهف أرقلا 2015 انم لبقت انبر Page

“You are going to a people of the Book and first when you call them, call them to the worship of

Allah alone, when they come to know Allah, then tell them to pray five times a day.”

So the prayer comes after knowing Allah, you understand? So it’s so essential that we learn about

who Allah تعالى و سبحانه is and then we also tell others about who Allah is.

57: I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.

Allah created us for His worship. And what have we gone after? What are we chasing? This world.

What is our greatest worry, in this world? What is it? زق ?food, money, groceries, cooking, right ,ره

This is what we have made the purpose of our lives, to collect riches, to collect wealth over here.

And a person thinks that the way he can please his wife and children or the way we can impress our

friends and family by making money, perhaps this is something that will also impress Allah. No, this

doesn’t impress Allah. Allah is not impressed by the richness of people because He is the Provider.

What is it that Allah wants from us? Something else, طاعة ,عبادة.

نيح اللهح :58 اق ا هزيح ح الريح Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor .… ه

of strength.

So the one who does not have زق who should he ask? Allah, the ultimate Provider. Think how much ,ره

Allah has provided us since we were created, so let us be grateful.

59: And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of

their predecessors, so let them not impatiently urge Me.

So the people of Makkah are warned, take a lesson.

Their chance, their turn will never, ever come again, why? It’s a once in a life opportunity for the

angels. Just imagine how many angels there are, how many creatures there are worshipping Allah, so

if we don’t worship Allah, what does He care? What does He care? He doesn’t need our worship. We

need to worship Allah for ourselves.

Meaning right now, they are busy, talking, amusing themselves in deep conversations which are

basically useless. Honestly, we need to think about it, where does our time and our life go? Why are

we too busy to pray? Why are we too busy that we don’t even have time to recite the قرأ ن?

Because our time is wasted in useless conversations, useless discussions, whether it is with people

that we live with or it is the friends that we talk with, or it is the Social Media that has consumed our

lives. And now forget Social Media all you need is one App on your phone and a few groups that

need to add you and خلاص your time is consumed, your life is wasted, precious moments are gone.

Juzz # 27 القرأ نفهم 2015

Page 9 ربنا تقبل منا

This is so dangerous, that right now a person wastes his life in useless conversations, in just talking

and talking and talking and doing nothing at all.

4

and we were صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid that: “One day we were sitting near the door of the Prophet ابو يد الخدري

discussing amongst ourselves and one person would say one أ ة of the قرأ ن and another would bring

another in response, so basically we were answering each other from the أ يات of the قرأ ن and the

Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم came out on us as if pomegranate has been burst on his face... meaning he was red in

the face…so angry, visibly upset and he said:

“Oh people is this why you have been sent? Or is this what you have been commanded with? After

me do not strike each other’s necks off returning to disbelief.”

Because you see these kinds of discussions what do they lead to? What do they lead to? Nothing!

Nothing productive. What they do for sure is that they divide people up. “Her comment was better

than mine,” And, “O she shared something today and I didn’t share anything today.” Or “She copied

my forward and she shared...” Getting upset with these random useless things, but especially when it

comes to fighting in the name of religion, because of religion, countering one أ ة of the قرأ ن with the

other as if it was some poetry competition, this is not correct, this is not correct at all! When the حكم

of Allah comes, there are no whys, ifs and buts then we do ‘نحا طحأ ح ا وح نح ه And we don’t waste our time ’.سح

just discussing and talking because if we spend all our time talking when are we going to act?

13: The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust….

Just imagine being pushed in a crowd, feels so insulting but they will be pushed into Hellfire and

14: "This is the Fire which you used to deny.

15: Then is this magic, or do you not see?

16: [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are

only being recompensed [for] what you used to do."

17: Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure,

18: Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the

punishment of Hellfire.

May Allah save us all.

19: [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction…

In satisfaction, eat and drink to your hearts content, why?

….. for what you used to do."

So the real value is of deeds not words.

20: They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with

large, [beautiful] eyes.

21: And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith….

Children were also believers.

…… We will join with them their children….

What coolness of the eyes! Parents and children, families together, where? In the best place, نيحة !جح

…. and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person….

ينم هه بح رح حا كحسح ئ به امره .Every person for what he earned, is retained ..… كي

What is ههين is basically collateral, that what is given as a surety when taking a debt, when رهن ?رح

taking a loan and once debt is paid off, then the collateral is also returned.

Like for example, you want $2000 from somebody, they say, “I need to make sure that you give my

cash back.” You say, “Okay keep my phone, when I return the money to you, you give my phone to

me.”

So just like that each person is locked, it is not free, it will only be set free when a person brings

good deeds on the Day of Judgment, then he will be set free in جنة, otherwise locked. So what is it

that will set us free? Our good deeds and of the deeds that set us free are charity.

The Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“Every one of the children of Adam have been created with 360 joints, so he who declares the glory

of Allah….

Meaning he says: ي ر اللهح تحغفه حانح اللهي ، اح ، سب اللهيلهح اهليح حمدللهي ، ل اه

، ال احكبح اللهي

Page 11: Lesson 27: Az-Zariyaat Al-Hadid PART-A AL-ZARIYAAT 31 ...data.alhudamedia.com/Media/Al-Quran/Fahm_al-Quran/FQ2015...Juzz # 27 ن مهف أرقلا 2015 انم لبقت انبر Page

…. or he removes a stone or a thorn or a bone from the people’s path or he enjoins what is good,

forbids what is evil to the number of those 360 joints then he will walk that day having saved himself

from the fire.”

Meaning if we manage to perform 360 good deeds in one day then, yes we are free, we have freed

ourselves from the fire and if we don’t then what? We are locked, we are imprisoned, we are not

free.

If you think about it what this ث ده كر I mean ,ذهكر mentions is حح is there any act of worship that could ,ذه

be easier than كر You could be lying down in peace relaxing, really in the most comfortable ?ذه

position with your eyes closed. And all you have to do is say,

حانح ‘ هه اللهه سب حمده به حانح ،وح يمه سب حظه اللهه ال ’

You have to say, ‘ الله احکبح ’ And the whole space between the sky and the earth is filled up, ’الله احکبح

once. Is there any deed that’s easier than كر كر Then why not keep the tongue moist with the ?ذه of ذه

Allah?

22: And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.

23: They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or

commission of sin.

24: There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them….

Servant boys dedicated for them, not shared with others so that they keep waiting.

….. as if they were pearls well-protected.

25: And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.

Now they will chat, now they will talk because in دنيحا what happens? You want to talk to your friend,

you want to just pour out your feelings in front of them and tell them how your day has been, your

month has been, your life has been, you’ve so many stories to share. But then when you sit with

them, there’s so many other things to do, so then what do you do? You leave that conversation for

later. And that later never comes. So many feelings you want to share, they just stay in your heart.

So, people who will enter نيحة نيحة Allah tells us that in ,جح they دنيحا they will talk. Why? Because in جح

never really got a chance to just sit and chat.

And especially these days in Ramadan, what happens? Even your family members you’re not able to

a person is in the family, with the family members, how do they feel? Secure, relaxed and because

we feel so secure and relaxed, we turn the TV on and we’re like, “Okay just enjoy this music video,

it’s okay, just enjoy this show, its okay.” We cover up each other’s sins, we allow each other to sin.

This is typically what happens in our families. Because the same actions we wouldn’t do outside, or

would we? Would we? No! we say things to one another that we would never say outside. But what

do we see here? People of نيحة are those who remain fearful of Allah even when they are with their جح

We are afraid of them, which is why we leave the good that we should do, we are afraid of them,

we’re not afraid for them. What we need to do is, we need to be afraid within our families. We need

to stop them from wrong out of fear of Allah, not stop our good out of fear of people.

30: Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?"

42: Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.

43: Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate

Meaning when you get up from your bed, then praise Allah.

49: And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.

Meaning in the end of the night also, exalt Him.

Over here, تسبيح, its referring to صلاة, the night prayer, but in addition to that what is meant is

glorify Allah, do His تسبيح, when? At all times. When you get up, in the middle of the night, at the

end of the night also, if in the night you have to, then what do you think about the day? You have to

remember Allah, do His تسبيح in the day time also.

Shareek, he came to Aisha رضي الله عنها and he asked her that, “How did the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم begin his

prayer in the night when he woke up?” She said, “You asked me about a thing, which no one asked

me before, when the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم would wake up in the night, he would say:

The people of Makkah called him mad, Allah testifies he is not a mad. Look at when the star falls.

What comes next? The sun rises and such is the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, his personality, his character, above

average, clear and evident.

ى :3 ح ه الهحق عح ا حنطه مح .Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination .…وح

This is our weakness that we say what we like but the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم, he spoke حق even when he was

angry even when he was happy.

O Messenger of Allah may I write‘ ,صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid that: “Once I asked the Prophet عبدالله بن عمرو بن الاص

what I hear from you of your words?’

He wanted to take permission of the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم, ‘Can I write down the words that you say?’

Because the words of the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم they are indeed very powerful

So, he said, ‘Yes.’

I asked, ‘Even when you're happy and when you're upset even then?’

Meaning if you say something while you’re happy and when you say something while you are upset,

even that?

He said”

‘Yes because it is not permissible for me to speak anything but truth even in these situations.’

The Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“I always speak the truth.”

He said:

So regardless of the situation whatever state he was in the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, only spoke the truth.

4: حم يحح وحليح ح ا ه ن ه ,It is not but a revelation revealed .…ا ه

ى :6 ح تح ا ة فح ريح .One of soundness…. Powerful, mentally strong also .…ذو مه

….. And he rose to [his] true form

Meaning complete form. Who is this? The angel Jibreel. Meaning the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, he has been

taught this قرأ ن, it has been delivered to him through who? Via who? Angel Jibreel. And angel Jibreel

is no ordinary angel. He is د دهى شح ح الق ة , ريح saw him صلى الله عليه وسلم powerful, strong, mighty and the Prophet ,ذو مه

in his true form.

7: عحفقه ال ح

You see just as the sun rises, and rises, up, up, up, this is how Jibreel appeared to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم,

the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم saw him.

8: ح لي دح تح نح فح Then he approached and descended .…ثميح دح

9: And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer.

Just imagine two bow lengths that was a distance between the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and Jibreel.

10: وححا أ ح هه مح عحبده

لح ا ه وحح حأ .And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed .…فح

Meaning he delivered the message that Allah sent. What is described over here is when the Prophet

and especially صلى الله عليه وسلم to the Prophet قرأ ن saw Jibreel in his original form and Jibreel brought the صلى الله عليه وسلم

what is mentioned over here the strength of Jibreel.

Page 18: Lesson 27: Az-Zariyaat Al-Hadid PART-A AL-ZARIYAAT 31 ...data.alhudamedia.com/Media/Al-Quran/Fahm_al-Quran/FQ2015...Juzz # 27 ن مهف أرقلا 2015 انم لبقت انبر Page

How strong is Jibreel?

The Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم when he was describing his journey of والمراجال سراء , he said:

“When we reached المقدس بيت Jibreel pointed with his finger causing a crack in the Rock and he tied

”.to it الباق

Pointed with his finger, you know that people dream of, wild imagination we can only fantasize,

Jibreel in reality pointed with his finger and the rock cracked and he tied the براق to it.

So Allah chose a very beautiful strong and capable angel who delivered the message correctly. And

share this with children by the way because children are so easily impressed by Superman and

Batman and all these old, old action figures and now what action figures there are. This is real action

figure this is a true action.

ى :11أ ح ا رح اد مح بح الفؤح ا كحيح .The heart did not lie [about] what it saw .…مح

Meaning the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم actually saw Jibreel and it was necessary for him to see Jibreel, otherwise

he would wonder where is this coming to me from.

ى :12 ح ا ح مح ح رونحه عح تمح فح ?So will you dispute with him over what he saw .…أ ح

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has never uttered a lie before, you know him. So why don't you accept what he's

telling you here? You see دهين is based on what? Revelation and revelation is based on what? On the

fact that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم is saying that he received it. And how do we trust him? How do we accept

his word? The fact that he was the most truthful man, so what's the doubt then?

13: And he certainly saw him in another descent

Meaning at another time also the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم saw Jibreel and this was at مراج.

حى :14 ةه المنتح درح ه ندح – At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary .…عه

Meaning the Lote tree, ةه درح ه which is at حى which is at the utmost boundary beyond which ,المنتح

nothing goes.

said that: ‘O Abu A’isha رضي الله عنها when Aisha ,رضي الله عنها said that: “I was with Aisha مسوق

[this was the كنية of مسوق ] there are three things and he who affirmed even one of them has

fabricated the greatest lie against Allah,’

So مسوق said I asked: ‘What are they?”

Page 19: Lesson 27: Az-Zariyaat Al-Hadid PART-A AL-ZARIYAAT 31 ...data.alhudamedia.com/Media/Al-Quran/Fahm_al-Quran/FQ2015...Juzz # 27 ن مهف أرقلا 2015 انم لبقت انبر Page

Juzz # 27 القرأ نفهم 2015

Page 19 ربنا تقبل منا

She said, ‘He who assumes that Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم saw his Lord, fabricated the greatest lie against

Allah.’

So مسوق , he got up…. Right! Because he was reclining he got up…. And he said: “O أم المؤمنين

wait a bit, do not be in haste, hasn't Allah said that truly, he saw him on the clear horizon and he saw

him in another descent?”

She said, “I am the first of this ummah who asked the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم about it and he said, ‘Verily this

was Jibreel. I have never seen Allah; I have never seen Jibreel in his original form in which he was

created except on these two occasions I saw him descending from the sky and filling the space from

the sky to the earth with the greatness of his bodily structure.’

So the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم didn’t see Allah, what is being described over here and this is a ث ده ,in Muslim حح

what is being described over here is when he saw Jibreel.

ى :15 وح أ ة المح نيح ا جح هح ندح حى Near… [the .…عه ةه المنتح درح ه is] the Garden of Refuge –

The abode of eternity, the home of eternity.

16: When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it].

What covered it? We learn that when the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was taken up for مراج, he was taken to

حى ةه المنتح درح ه and حى ةه المنتح درح ه is situated in the sixth sky, you know that there are seven skies, right? So

in the sixth sky, that is where the ة درح ه is, this tree is, and it grows up into the seventh sky. And this

حى حى what it means by ,منتح is that everything terminates that ascends from the earth and is held منتح

there. And everything that descends from above it is held there, it's like a gate. Things don't go freely

through that, they don't go freely up and they don't go freely down, it's like a gate. And what is

mentioned over here is,

ا حغشح ةح مح درح ه ذ حغشح السي ..…ا ه

What is that tree? How is there a tree up there, علحمح But definitely its beyond this universe that we .احلله أ

know, the universe that we know is just the first sky because Allah says that you cannot escape the

sky. so, all of the space that we know this is just the first sky, above that above that, above that,

above that, sixth, seventh sky there is this tree and something covered it. What covered it?

Something so beautiful that Allah says: ا ح غشح مح - It's indescribable.

And that is what the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, that he said that, “Jibreel took me until we reached the

حى ةه المنتح درح ه which was shrouded in colors, indescribable.” Meaning, those colors, I cannot even

describe out of this world because that is a place out of this world anyway, it's beyond the spectrum

of the rainbow of ‘ROYGBIV’ it's beyond that, above that, indescribable! So the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was

taken up there.

17: The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit].

Page 20: Lesson 27: Az-Zariyaat Al-Hadid PART-A AL-ZARIYAAT 31 ...data.alhudamedia.com/Media/Al-Quran/Fahm_al-Quran/FQ2015...Juzz # 27 ن مهف أرقلا 2015 انم لبقت انبر Page

Look at the دحب :He's not looking around shocked, “O wow what is this place?” No, his sight .أ ح

So much دحب .أ ح

18: He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.

Very different matters, different place, different things that he was shown so that he would يقين and

he would convey with full confidence.

19: So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza?

20: And Manat, the third - the other one?

Meaning all of these gods that you believe in, what are they?

21: Is the male for you and for Him the female?

Again, you ascribe female partners to Allah. What is wrong with you?

22: That, then, is an unjust division.

23: They are not but [mere] names you have named them….

Meaning the only thing that is true about these idols is just their names, it's just a name that's it

nothing beyond their names.

……you and your forefathers … have invented …. for which Allah has sent down no authority.

They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to

them from their Lord guidance.

24: ح حني ا تح انه مح نسح هم لهلا

?Or is there for man whatever he wishes .…أ ح

Do we get whatever we want? No. Isn't it so often that children when they ask you for something like

juice, what do you say? I want something too but you can't have the juice just because you're asking

for the third glass in a row. You can’t have everything you want, the fact is that in this life we cannot

have everything we want and just like that, the truth and falsehood cannot be according to our

wishes, we have to change ourselves truth is not going to change according to our wishes.

25: Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].

Page 21: Lesson 27: Az-Zariyaat Al-Hadid PART-A AL-ZARIYAAT 31 ...data.alhudamedia.com/Media/Al-Quran/Fahm_al-Quran/FQ2015...Juzz # 27 ن مهف أرقلا 2015 انم لبقت انبر Page

So, He decides what is right and what is wrong.

26: And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all

28: And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and….

يئا ه شححقيح ال نيح لح غنه مه

نيح الظيح ا ه وح ….. indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.

Meaning whatever Allah has revealed that is true and if we don't believe may Allah protect us we

would be wrong. Truth cannot be changed because of us, because of our wishes. So let us believe in

what Allah has revealed. You see one is what we think, what we like, what our ancestors or our

culture, you know is based upon, what our ancestors thought off and the other is what Allah has

revealed. Our life's road map should be according to what Allah has revealed, otherwise we will lose

the way.

30: That is their sum of knowledge….

everybody who was listening, they fell in prostration when they heard, ‘ ه دوا للهه اعبدوافحاس because ’ وح

And Ibn Masood said that, “Everyone prostrated except for one old man اميه ابن خلف who took a

just put the mud on his head and he said, ‘I can’t put my head on the ground. Mud can come on

And after a few moments it joined back together. This was a miracle that was shown by Rasoolallah

2: And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic."

They still did not believe.

3: And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of]

settlement.

How long will you avoid?

4: And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence

6: So leave them….

If they do not believe, leave them. There's no need to argue with them.

Coming out of the earth, jumping out, scattering everywhere.

The Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“The people will be gathered in three ways on the Day of Judgment, the first will be of those who will

wish or have a hope for Paradise and will have a fear of punishment….

Meaning they will come with fear and hope

…. Another group will be brought riding two on a camel or three on a camel or ten on a camel and

the third batch, the rest of the people will be urged together by the fire which will accompany them at

the time of their afternoon nap and stay with them where they will spend the night.”

So basically, some people they will be gathered…. majority the people be gathered, how? With fire,

that fire will chase them. Where will they run away? Meaning if they try to escape. Fire will block

them, not allowing them to run away and this is a ث ده .in Bukhari حح

9: The people of Nuh denied before them, and they denied Our servant and they said, "A

madman," and he was repelled.

10: So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help."

11: Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down

12: And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already

predestined.

13: And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails,

14: Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied.

26: They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar.

27: Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient.

Look at the قرأ ن, if we want to know how we can be protected, look at the قرأ ن, the message is not

this is truly a huge favor of ,قرأ ن His is teaching it. Meaning, when a person has been taught the ,علم

Allah تعالى و سبحانه on him.

And for this Allah sent a messenger, not just the قرأ ن, but a messenger also. He didn't just send the

Book, so that he would teach us the meaning of this Book, as well as its application.

Speech, expression is a blessing; it is such a blessing that sets man apart, from the rest of the

creation. So this blessing is something, that we should be grateful to Allah for and we تعالى و سبحانه

should use it most for the Book of Allah, that this tongue that speaks, this mouth that speaks. It

should be used for speaking the قرأ ن, and I don't mean by speaking the قرأ ن necessarily teaching it,

but reciting it. Because, Allah has given us the ability to use our tongue, to form beautiful words, to

form beautiful sounds with it. And out of any speech, that we could say, the best speech would be, to

recite the Book of Allah, and also recite it oneself, and recite it to others.

What are you doing?

7: And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance

Meaning, He created a certain balance in every creation. And He has also demanded from us….

8: That you not transgress within the balance.

Meaning the justice, the balance, that Allah has created within the creation, do not deviate from that

or else, life will become difficult for you.

9: And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.

Meaning when giving people their rights, do not be unfair.

10: And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.

What a huge lesson this is. That all of this universe, this earth, is not just for you. There are also

other creatures that are living on this planet. So be considerate of them also, live and let live. Do not

disturb the balance, that Allah has created do not live so selfishly, that you harm the rest of the

creation.

This أ ة, is repeated thirty-three times in this Surah. And we see that ‘both of you, two’ محا بهي ءه رح

يهي أ لح حأ بهفح

Which means that the قرأ ن is not just addressing the men, people but also the Jinn. And when

Allah تعالى و سبحانه asks this question that…

…. which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

The Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم said: [This is a حدث recorded in السلسلة الصحيحة, an authentic حدث]

“That, I recited Suratur Rahman on the Jinn….

Because we learnt that the Jinn came to hear the قرأ ن, they came again to hear more قرأ ن from the

Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم, just as people would come, Jinn also came, and the Prophet of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said that…

....“They were better in response, than you, because each time I recited: نه بحييهحا ت مح

That “O Our Lord! There is no blessing of Yours that we deny, for You there is all praise.”

Meaning, gardens with lush trees, huge towering trees, with branches that are spreading out. Which

just shows the spaciousness, the size of these gardens. Because in this world, what happens, if you

have a backyard, a front yard, and you want to put a tree, you have to make sure that the yard is big

enough to accommodate a tree. And if you have one tree, rare is it, that you can have another tree,

you can plant multiple trees, because if you do so, your garden is all crowded what does this show?

So, in this world our priority should not be, to make sure we get our seven, eight hours of sleep,

every day or every night. No, because if a person makes that the priority, he'll never be happy, never,

women in نيحة which means that جح Look .انشاالله if we make it there, this is part of our beauty, also انشاالله

forward to it, instead of getting upset about it.

ان :60 حسح ال هليح انه ا ه حسح اء ال ه

زح ل جح ?Is the reward for good [anything] but good .…هح

This is a general principle. In this world, this is the law of this universe, and this is a general rule,

that Allah تعالى و سبحانه promises that in this religion also, if a person does good, then Allah will give

him better, Allah will give him better. He does ا حسان, Allah will do ا حسان on him, and we know that

is better than, what was done, right? It's giving more in return. And in duniya also, we see that ا حسان

the one who does ا حسان, then he is also treated with ا حسان, he also receives good because:

نهينح ح المحسه بم مه رهه قح ح حمحتح اللهي نيح رح .ا حسان The mercy of Allah is very close, to those who do - ا ه

And in this worldly life, life can only continue it can only be good if a person does ا حسان, if a person

works at the level of excellence, that if someone does bad, you do good in return. And also, what

happens is, that when somebody is doing something, we like to compete with them. But generally,

what is it that we compete in? In clothes, if they're wearing these clothes, next time my clothes will

be better. Right, that if they are driving this car, if they bought this car, next time I will buy a better

car. They're getting this degree, I will get a better degree, they're eating this food, they ordered this

food, I will order something that is better, we want to be better, because we compete.

What is it that Allah تعالى و سبحانه encourages us to do? That we should compete in doing ا حسان, because when you will do ا حسان to the other, you do better than what they did to you, then what are

you going to receive from Allah? Better than what you did to the other.

So the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“Shall I not tell you something which, if you do, you will catch up with those who have surpassed

Should I tell you about something which, if you do you will catch up with those who are ahead of

82: And make your provision that you deny [the Provider]?

That Allah, He is the one who has provided you everything. And how do you thank Him for this

provision, that you deny Him? Is this what you have to offer in return, for every blessing that He

gives you that you deny Him? You reject Him? And He is the provider, He gives you, He takes care

of all of your needs, He has provided you with everything that you need, and yet His word, you don't

take. His message, His teachings, you don't accept.

If you think about it, any breath of air even that we take in. And we inhale, we exhale, this is also

who's blessing? Allah’s blessing. Constantly, we are receiving, receiving, receiving. This قرأ ن also,

Allah has sent. How much is it that we receive, of the قرأ ن? Because if you think about it, Allah gives

worldly blessings to everybody. Those whom He likes, and also those whom He does not like. But

Meaning if you think there is no God, if you think there is no afterlife, if you think no one is going to

question you about what you're doing, if you think there is no one greater than you, above you, then

try to escape death, can you? It's impossible for you to escape death. And once a soul leaves, can you

bring that soul back? No way.

So if you're truthful in this claim of yours, that you have all the power it's your life, if you're truthful

in this claim that it's your life, then show it, prove that it's your life. Can you avoid death? You

cannot! The reality is, that yes, you are living, but Allah owns you, and He sent you here, and to Him

you will return.

So remember, the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“Whoever says: هه حمده به يمه وح حظه حانح اللهه ال نيحة then a date palm tree is planted for him in سب ”.جح

It is planted for him. So it's up to us, how many trees we want to plant in a day? You see sometimes

you're waiting, and you're getting so angry, my time is getting wasted. My children, my family, my

husband, my whoever, they don't value my time. They don't realize that my minutes are also

precious. So, as you're waiting, don't wait angrily, invest that time, and say: هه حمده ه وح به حانح اللهي سب and plant

And you see the last part that O Allah remove the burden of debt from us and relieve us from want

meaning you take care of all our debts, all our loans and free us of poverty. And Abu Salih said that

he used to narrate this from Abu Hurairah (r.a.) who narrated this from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم that this is

also one of the duas that we can say. Before we go to sleep remember the names of Allah and when

you remember these names of Allah really all your problems, they go away. Because generally what

happens when you lie down when your body relaxes your mind it doesn't relax, does it? You start

worrying about all your problems and for many people what are their problems? Their debts, their

loans, financial burdens, fees, or for instance the loan or the car or the rent or whatever it is. These

Page 57: Lesson 27: Az-Zariyaat Al-Hadid PART-A AL-ZARIYAAT 31 ...data.alhudamedia.com/Media/Al-Quran/Fahm_al-Quran/FQ2015...Juzz # 27 ن مهف أرقلا 2015 انم لبقت انبر Page

burdens that we sleep with and we wake up with and we spend our day with. So leave these

problems to Allah, ask Him, take His names and ask Him for help.

4: And also we see in the next Ayah that Allah, where is He? On His throne yet He is near because

He is Allah. It's amazing, حرشه ح ال ى عح ح تح ا كنتم :He is on the throne and then - ثميح ا ينح مح أ ح

9: It is He who sends down upon His Servant [Muhammad] verses of clear evidence that He

may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And indeed, Allah is to you Kind and

Merciful.

10: And why do you not spend in the cause of Allah while to Allah belongs the heritage of

the heavens and the earth?....

Allah is the rich one, if you give Him, He will give you more. This is just like if there is an investor,

billionaire, even more than that, do you have any hesitation in spending your money? In investing

your money in that? No.

For example Apple Company, somebody was telling me recently that Apple is richer than many

countries now. So if someone wants to invest their money, buy some stocks or some shares would

they hesitate in putting some money in this way? No they wouldn't. Why? Because for sure they're

going to make money, for sure they're going to get profit. I'm not saying go ahead and do it, don't

take this as a suggestion, just giving an example that the bigger the company the more trust and

confidence you have because the richer they are and there are very few chances that you will suffer

any loss.

When you give to Allah, when you give in His name, when you are give in His sake, why would you

fear any loss? Allah owns the skies and the earth.

….Not equal among you are those who spent before the conquest [of Makkah] and fought [and

those who did so after it]….

Meaning those who did before and those who did after, they are not the same.

….Those are greater in degree than they who spent afterwards and fought. But to all Allah has

promised the best [reward]. And Allah, with what you do, is [fully] Acquainted.

What do we see here that sacrificing at the time of need that is the real sacrifice and for that is a

reward that is unmatched. This is why the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that if any one of you were to spend

gold equal to the mount of احد you could not reach the level of the Sahabah. Why? Because what

they did we can never ever do that because they worked with the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, they sacrificed at a

time of great hardship so they got the rewards that were unmatched.

So likewise those who respond early, those who are sabiqoon, those who are ahead, their reward is

unmatched.

11: Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He will multiply it for him and he will

have a noble reward?

What is نا سح رضا حح نا ?قح سح رضا حح is to spend money in the way of Allah, for the sake of attaining قح

Allah’s pleasure, for the sake of promoting propagating the religion of Allah wherever it is needed.

This could be in spending on oneself, like for example a person spends money in order to get to a

Page 59: Lesson 27: Az-Zariyaat Al-Hadid PART-A AL-ZARIYAAT 31 ...data.alhudamedia.com/Media/Al-Quran/Fahm_al-Quran/FQ2015...Juzz # 27 ن مهف أرقلا 2015 انم لبقت انبر Page

particular class or for example to buy certain books or to enroll in a course. So any spending even if

that is a few dollars, remember that is going in the way of Allah, Allah take it as a loan because He

will pay you back, He will return you, He will not leave you empty handed, He will not leave you

poor, He will return. And then this includes also spending on others that for example giving them

the gift of knowledge, giving them the gift of Deen, doing something for them so that they can also

learn the Deen.

12: On the Day you see the believing men and believing women, their light proceeding

before them and on their right, [it will be said], "Your good tidings today are [of] gardens

beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally." That is what is the great

attainment.

13: On the [same] Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who

believed, "Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light."….

The hypocrites will say let us borrow some of your light but it will not work because each person

shall have his own light and light on that day will be determined by the person’s imaan in this world,

his actions, his sadaqah.

….It will be said, "Go back behind you and seek light."….

Meaning here you can find any light if you want light you have to go back to the world but is there

any going back to the world? No way.

We learnt that before صراط, before the bridge people will fall in darkness and then they will come on

the bridge to cross it and people will be given their light. How much light? Each person will be

given light according to his deeds. However his deeds shall be that is how his light shall be.

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that:

“People will be given their light in proportion to their deeds. Among them is he who will receive his

light like a date palm tree….

[Can you imagine so tall, huge]

….Among them is he who will receive less than that until the last that is given light is given it on the

large toe of his foot”.

Some people their light will be like a huge tall column, like a huge pillar. And some, their light will

be less than that and some their light will be just where? On their toes, that's it and this will also

flicker; go on and off, become bright and also become dim. And then people will have to cross the

bridge and as people will cross the bridge some people, they will cross the bridge as easily as quickly

as the flash of lightning, the blink of an eye, like fast wind, like birds flying, like animals running.

Meaning these are just examples of how speed will be on the Day of Judgment.

And then the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم described the صراط, he said:

“the صراط, they will pass on the صراط which is sharper than the sword”

[Meaning its slippery and unstable and it's also )thinner( finer than a hair]

Page 60: Lesson 27: Az-Zariyaat Al-Hadid PART-A AL-ZARIYAAT 31 ...data.alhudamedia.com/Media/Al-Quran/Fahm_al-Quran/FQ2015...Juzz # 27 ن مهف أرقلا 2015 انم لبقت انبر Page

Juzz # 27 القرأ نفهم 2015

Page 60 ربنا تقبل منا

….it will be said to them move in proportion to your light so some will pass over it like the diving of

the stars….

[You see a shooting star, just like that some people will move]

….some will pass like the wind some will pass like the blinking of the eye and some among them will

pass like fast racing horses and some will pass like a person walking very quickly they will pass over

it in accordance to their deeds until one passes over it whose light is on the large toe of his foot….

[so what will happen he will slip because it will be dark and his speed will be so less he will slip]

….so his hand will fall and another hand will raise up, a leg will fall another leg will raise up….

[meaning he will be crawling]

….and his sides will be afflicted by the fire….

[because on the sides of the صراط there are hooks. The صراط, remember this bridge is on hell fire, it is

over hell fire]

….so he will be afflicted by the fire then some will be saved and some will fall and those who will be

saved they will say “All praise is for Allah who is saved us from you [meaning hell fire] after we

have seen you”.

So each person will be given his light according to his or her deeds. Some people will be given light

where? On their toe. Just imagine how little that light is and it will be flickering on and off, dim and

bright because this is how their imaan was, this is how their deeds were.

Earlier we learned that the deeds which Allah likes are those which are consistent, regular and if a

person at one point, yes there is salah and another point no prayer, one day a lot of Quran another

day no Quran, in Ramadan there are lots of good deeds and then for the rest of the year farewell to all

the good deeds, this kind of inconsistency will also lead to inconsistency in that light on the day of

judgment. And remember this is real, this is real, this is what every one of us has to go through.

What kind of light do we want on the Day of Judgment? Whatever light we want that is what we

have to do right now.

Now, Allah (s.w.t.), when He has shown us the light of the Quran then let us be firm and have

let us remain attached to some good work so that we do not take a step back, we do not fall ,اتقامة

back because this journey is inevitable. Each person has to cross the bridge so a mass and collect as

much light for yourself as possible and spread khair around you; on your right, on your left, before

you, behind you, wherever you go accumulate good. Why? So that you have noor on the Day of

Judgment.

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said “each person believer or hypocrite will be given his light” each person

because remember the disbelievers have already been taken into the fire. These are who? Those

who say they are believers whether their imaan is real or not, sincere or not, each person will be

granted this light. So we should strive with our actions because noor is imaan and amal and imaan

by the way is not just the state of the heart it also includes the actions of a person and also we should

ask Allah for نور هداة especially when? The dua of noor at what time? When is it that the Prophet

?taught us to say dua nor? If you don't know it, you should know it now; Fajr. What time صلى الله عليه وسلم

Especially after the sunnah, before the farz. Which dua is it?

If you see this theme is repeated; rushed to Allah, وا ري فهلح فح ه ا ه اللهي - and here ابهقا ح and earlier we learned

كم نفسهأ ح ….No disaster strikes upon the earth or

among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being - indeed that, for

Allah, is easy -

23: In order that you not despair over what has eluded you and not exult [in pride] over

what He has given you….

If you lose something if you gain something this was written from before so don't feel too happy

about what you have received and don't be too sad over what you've lost.

….And Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful –

Who are they?

24: [Those] who are stingy and enjoin upon people stinginess….

Who hold back themselves and who tell others to hold back also.

….And whoever turns away - then indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

He does not need us!

25: We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences and sent down with them the

Scripture and the balance that the people may maintain [their affairs] in justice. And We sent

down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people, and so that Allah may

make evident those who support Him and His messengers unseen….

Meaning they haven't seen Allah yet what do they do?

….Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.

So we see that Allah revealed these things; the kitaab, the meezan and He also sent down the hadeed

- the iron and these are meant to be used for the promotion of the Deen. But what do we do

generally? We use them to make our dunya.

د :26 لحقح ا وح لنح ح ريمح نوحا أ ح اهه برح ا ه وح ….And We have certainly sent Nooh and Ibraham and

placed in their descendants prophethood and scripture; and among them is he who is guided,

but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

27: Then We sent following their footsteps Our messengers and followed [them] with Isa,

the son of Maryam, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who

followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated;….

They invented رهبانية , monasticism and what is that? Leave this world, meaning, go to an extreme

in worship that a person cuts off from his relatives even, he doesn't enjoy the halal even. This is

something that they innovated.

….We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah….

The intention was good but the action was not right.

….But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among

them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

28: O you who have believed, …. ح قا اللهي fear Allah and believe in His Messenger; He.… اتيح

will [then] give you a double portion of His mercy [in this dunya and akhirah] and make for you

a light by which you will walk [in this world and also on the day of judgement] and forgive you;

and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

29: [This is] so that the People of the Scripture may know that they are not able [to obtain]

anything from the bounty of Allah and that [all] bounty is in the hand of Allah;….

He gave them Scripture, they didn't give it its حق then Allah gave .to someone else هداة

….He gives it to whom He wills. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty.

So all our effort and striving should be for what? Pleasing Allah (s.w.t.) because if Allah is happy

with us then we are successful. My Allah (s.w.t.) be happy with all of us.
