Ethio Telecom Awards Giza Systems Performance Management Solution ProjectLeveraging Giza Systems’ vast expertise in the telecom industry, Ethio Telecom awarded Giza Systems the Performance Management Solution project. The project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2014.

Partnering with Tekelec, Giza Systems has been contracted to design and plan for the setup of the performance monitoring solution, as well as hardware and software installations and configuration. The project also extends to ensuring integration of the solution with existing infrastructure, stabilization and testing, training, and support services.

"We are very excited about this project, as it presents a great opportunity for Giza Systems to expand its business in the telecom industry in Africa through Ethiopia, while partnering with a market pioneer like Tekelec," explained Mohamed Saad, Country Sales Manager, WECA. He added, "Expansion into Africa is one of our prime strategies this coming period, and we are thrilled to have gained a foothold in the booming Ethiopian market. With the market growing at a significant pace, we believe that it is instrumental for Giza Systems to contribute to the development and empowerment of the telcos through enhancement of their operational and business efficiencies."

The project scope will cover both mobile and fixed line switches for Ethio Telecom, Ethiopia, allowing Ethio Telecom to monitor their network performance and discover any technical issues arising from third party vendor equipment. This will enhance assessment and enable more informed decision making. In terms of roaming, connectivity with

other countries will be guaranteed, as it will accommodate inbound and outbound roamers in real time.

By enabling Ethio Telecom to monitor network performance, the solution will also reveal areas in need of improvement and streamlining, thus, directing Ethio Telecom’s upgrade investments in the needed areas to achieve operational and business efficiencies.

The implementation of this project will contribute to solving a number of network issues, as it will allow for the benchmarking of mobile network performance, in addition to the provision of a troubleshooting tool for network engineers through the generation of periodic reports on network performance. The project will enhance the maintenance and management of national resources by working towards the optimization of these resources.

بتمكني اإلثيوبية لإلتصاالت من مراقبة أداء الشبكة، فإن النظم التي سوف يتم تركيبها خالل

Giza Systems Gulf and Schneider Electric Join Forces for Doha South and Muaither RPS SCADA Integration Project Giza Systems Gulf was awarded the project for Doha South and Muaither RPS SCADA Integration with National Water Control Center in Doha, Qatar, for Alwaha Contracting and Trading. The project is set for completion in the fourth quarter of 2013.

The project is a major milestone for Giza Systems Gulf as it the sole authorized systems integrator in Qatar that is allowed to modify the National Water Control Central SCADA System, except for the original vendor. Being selected for its in-depth know-how, high quality services, technical compliance, optimum design, and sourcing capabilities, as well as their competitive offer in terms of cost, Giza Systems Gulf is collaborating with Alwaha Contracting and Trading for the execution of this project.

"Taking on this project provides us with a great opportunity to penetrate and position ourselves in the Qatari market. Being entrusted by the National Water Control Center in Doha and breaking ground in this field is a great privilege and is expected to yield outstanding results," commented Diaa El Haqe M. Abdel Hady, Country Manager.

This project is part of the Qatari initiative to automate the Utilities network through secure and redundant architecture that ensures that operators have a central policy driven management automation system, as well as establish a local, centralized and fast decision application mechanism in place. The project aims at enhancing operational efficiencies, improving water network performance and minimizing troubleshooting and maintenance time in order to secure the stability of the water network and enable operators to have access to centralized automated decision making policies.

The scope of work for the project includes the supply, design, engineering, procurement, installation, training, testing, commissioning, and start-up of Schneider Electric’s PLC, and SCADA systems. The implementation also includes the integration of the new RPS with the existing system, already deployed by the original vendor.

ويعترب املرشوع خطوًة ضخمة لجيزة سيستمز الخليجية، لكونها رشكة الدمج الوحيدة التي يحق

لها تعديل أنظمة السكادا الخاصة باملركز الوطني للتحكم يف املياه، باإلضافة إىل املورد األصيل.

هذا املرشوع هو جزء من املبادرة القطرية لبناء شبكة مرافق آلية من خالل بنية تحتية آمنة

وميكن اإلعتمد عليها، لتضمن أن املشغلني يعملون طبقاً لسياسة آلية املركزية، وكذلك إنشاء آلية

تطبيق القرار عىل املستوى املحيل، تكون مركزية ورسيعة. ويهدف املرشوع إىل تعزيز الكفاءة

التشغيلية، وتحسني أداء شبكة املياه وتقليل األخطاء وإصالحها ووقت صيانتها، من أجل تأمني

اإلستقرار لشبكة املياه ومتكني املشغلني من الحصول عىل مركزية صنع السياسات وآليات إتخاذ

القرار.

والتدريب والرتكيب والرشاء والهندسة والتصميم التوفري املرشوع يف العمل نطاق ويتضمن

الخاص إليكرتيك وسكادا بشنايدر الخاص PLC العمليات ألنظمة والتكليف وبدء واإلختبار

باملورد األصيل. كم يتضمن التنفيذ دمج نظام RPS الجديد مع األنظمة املتواجدة حالياً.

The Team

Giza Systems Provides TE Data with HP Fault Management Solution Building on Giza Systems’ vast expertise and position as a leading systems integrator in the region, as well as its partnership with strategic providers like HP, TE Data awarded Giza Systems the project for providing the Fault Management Solution with confidence that the desired results will be met.

TE Data contracted Giza Systems to supply and set up HP Fault Management Solution. The scope of work included the design, planning, hardware and software installation and configuration of the system, as well as ensuring its integration with the existing infrastructure. Giza Systems is also responsible for stabilization and testing, training, and support services for the project.

Fault Management Solution is a unified application that includes a suite of software models that monitors the health of existing TE Data network elements, and retrieves useful information that indicate the health and performance of the systems.

"Our expertise in integrated solutions will enable our client achieve the desired outcome in terms of having control and the ability to manage the number one ISP in Egypt, coupled with the benefit of owning a reliable network that is able to accommodate the huge demand for data services in Egypt," stated Ahmed Kamal, Chief Commercial Officer.

The implementation of this project is expected to solve the relevant issues, rendering the ability to measure the performance and health of large scale TE Data networks and systems – encompassing multiple infrastructure vendors – with one unified management tool. It will also provide valuable visibility into operational and performance data across multiple technology domains. Furthermore, it will enhance business intelligence by providing the understanding of how IT infrastructure performance impacts business services through offering customizable, on-demand reports.

"The opportunity to deploy, implement and manage a fault management solution in a large scale network for a service provider like TE Data is of vast importance to our expertise in the fault management field," explained Waleed Darwish, Telecom OSS General Manager. He added, "Even with the expected challenge of a tight schedule, we are committed to perfecting the project implementation and delivering the best results on time."

Working with the new HP Fault Management Solution, TE Data will definitely experience optimized levels of efficiency and productivity in their operations. They will be able to troubleshoot problems in real time through a reliable and unified system, while maintaining long-term performance reporting and foolproof capacity planning.

وإختباره، وتدريب فريق العمل الذي سيقوم عىل إدارته، باإلضافة إىل خدمات الدعم.

ونظام إدارة األخطاء هو تطبيق موحد يتضمن مجموعة من مناذج الربمجيات التي تراقب صحة

عنارص الشبكة املوجودة، كم يقوم بالحصول عىل وتخزين املعلومات املفيدة التي تدل عىل

صحة وأداء نظم الشبكة.

جميع مصانع الغزل والنسيج والصباغة، والتي تشمل مصانع ذات قدرات إنتاجية كبرية ، حيث يتم رصف كميات عالية من النفايات الصناعية.

ثلثي املحطة حوايل التي تخدمها املصانع "تنتج قائالً املنياوي، مدير املرشوع، ويعلق خالد النفايات الصناعية يف املدينة، وميثل القيام بهذا املرشوع إنجازاً هاماً للغاية بالنسبة للرشكة، مم ، التقنية من عالية درجة عىل ومعدات انشاءات وتصميم ببناء الرشكة تقوم حيث

El-Nasr Building and Construction Company (EGYCO) contracted Giza Systems Electromechanical Company for the execution of a major project encompassing full electromechanical works for Mahalla Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Giza Systems Electromechanical Company (GSEC) will be responsible for the supply and complete set up of electromechanical works at the Mahalla Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant in Egypt. The project is scheduled for completion by the third quarter of 2014.

"As part of a major governmental plan, this mega project is crucial in working towards solving the industrial wastewater treatment problem in Mahalla. The real danger lies from the damage to the sewage network in the city caused by the high quantity of industrial acid drainage from industrial areas," explained Ahmed Reda, Sales Manager at GSEC. He continued "We are extremely proud to take part in this national project, for GSEC’s capabilities and experience as a leading electromechanical contractor uniquely position us to execute a project of this magnitude within the scheduled timeframe."

The project is vital for Mahalla city, as it is a major hub for the textile and dyeing industry in Egypt. Its industrial wastewater treatment plant serves all the textile and dyeing factories, which include factories with large production capacities, thus, the high proportion of industrial waste.

Khaled Menyawy, Project Manager, explained "The factories to be served by this project produce up to two-thirds of the city’s industrial waste. It is an extremely significant milestone for GSEC to undertake this project and build this massive process design unit, as it will establish and reinforce GSEC’s footing as a major EPC contractor."

The implementation of this project will contribute to solving a number of industrial wastewater problems in the city of Mahalla by absorbing the requisite industrial waste generated by the various factories. The electromechanical works at the wastewater treatment plant will effectively enhance the disposal of industrial waste, guarantee the smooth continuity of plant operations, as well as improve the overall infrastructure of the governorate.

Let’s Rebuild Egypt! The latest Egyptian political developments have spurred a tremendous momentum from individuals and institutions all over the world in supporting the Egypt fund. The "Support Egypt" fund, bank account number 306306, is an initiative created as an economic rescue fund aimed at tackling the economic challenges facing the country in this crucial time. With the political landscape in Egypt these past few years, Egypt’s economy has been on a downward spiral. The current events have rallied up Egyptians to stand together to rebuild the economy in the fundraising campaign "Support Egypt." The fund has been opened with the Central Bank in Egypt and donations are accepted throughout Egypt’s banks. The funds will be at the disposal of the interim President Adly Mansour. Transparency and close monitoring of the funds have been assured.

The announcement of the initiative came on Egyptian satellite channel CBC on Friday by channel owner businessman, Mohamed El-Amin. The initiative aims to raise funds in the amount of 10 billion EGP in donations into account 306306, through all banks functioning in Egypt.

Phone calls have been pouring into CBC’s programs from individuals and institutions, pledging donations to the Fund, most notably a 300 million EGP pledge by the Armed Forces. Head of Egypt’s Judges Club, Justice Ahmed El-Zend, promised to donate 25,000 EGP, whereas Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim announced that the Ministry would auction off distinctive car license plates and donate the proceeds to the Fund. Many Egyptians, from all walks of life, have pledged amounts to the Fund ranging from 1 EGP to millions EGP.

The "Support Egypt" fund is the latest in a series of similar initiatives since the revolution gave its first blow to Egypt’s economy, about two and a half years ago. The first initiative was account number 25/01/2011, opened by then Minister of Finance, Samir Radwan, in March 2011, which reportedly raised 40 million EGP in donations. This was followed by a private initiative from influential Salafist preacher, Mohamed Hassan, in February 2012. Last November, former President Morsi called on Egyptians to donate to newly-opened account number 333333 at the Central Bank of Egypt, named "Egypt’s Renaissance," to support the country’s struggling economy. The Egyptian budget deficit reached 205 billion EGP (roughly $29.2 billion) – representing 11.8 % of GDP – in the first 11 months of the 2012/13 fiscal year, reported the Ministry of Finance in June. The country’s total external debt reached $30.6 billion, or 14.9 percent of GDP in March 2013, according to the Central Bank of Egypt. Domestic debt reached 1.3 trillion EGP by December 2012.

In light of the current events, Giza Systems urges Egyptians to do the best they can to support and rebuild their country. Stemming from the belief that we can all stand together and meet head on the challenges of the economy, the company is starting an initiative to contribute to "Support Egypt" Fund, which will be applied by deducting a certain sum from the monthly salaries of those interested, for 10 consecutive months.

Giza Systems Celebrates with Injaz Egypt Reaching 100,000 Egyptian Students

As collaboration continues between Giza Systems and Injaz Egypt, the corporate social responsibility partners celebrated another successful year reaching out to more Egyptian schools, benefiting over 100,000 students in different Egyptian governorates.

The program addresses students from governmental schools and universities. It aims at preparing students to enter the workforce as qualified and skilled employees through practical training and specialized curriculums. By raising awareness on a number of subjects like finances, entrepreneurship, leadership, environment and personal life planning, volunteers help students gain life lessons, as well problem solving and communication skills.

Injaz Volunteer Recognition Event took place on June 24th, where Injaz Egypt recognized over 350 volunteers. After dinner and networking, the event began with testimonials from former and current Injaz students, including speaker Mostafa Hemdan, the CEO of "Recyclobekia" – a company that recycles electronic waste. Hemdan gave an inspirational speech about entrepreneurship and how Injaz’s support was a building block to Recyclobekia’s success. The speech was followed by motivational speeches conducted by volunteers who reflected on the impact Injaz has had on both their personal and professional lives.

"We believe that education is the most valuable investment anyone can make, and by volunteering and mentoring at schools and universities, we invest in students, with confidence that one day they’ll accomplish great things," stated Ahmed Ossama, Testing Team Leader.

A total of 27 companies were acknowledged for their volunteering efforts. Each volunteer received certificates from both Injaz Egypt and the United Nations for their time and effort.

"Injaz is built on a system that depends on volunteers in order to strive as a successful organization. Without their support it would not be possible to reach a fraction of the students we are influencing today. Our volunteers are our most valuable asset and we appreciate their enthusiasm because none of this would be possible without them," stated Dina El Mofty, Executive Director for Injaz Egypt.

At the event, Injaz highlighted the importance of the valued corporate partnerships and thanked the volunteers for their time and efforts. It is through the dedication and commitment of the volunteers that Injaz is able to constantly broaden its scope, thus, fulfilling its mission of empowering Egypt’s next generation.

مع إستمرار التعاون بني جيزة سيستمز و مؤسسة "إنجاز مرص"، فقد إحتفل عدد من الرشكاء

خالل املرصية املدارس من أكرب عدد مع بالتواصل للرشكات املجتمعية املسؤولية مجال يف

العام املنرصم، لصالح أكرث من ١٠٠,٠٠٠ أى مائة ألف من طالب وطالبات املدارس يف مختلف

املحافظات املرصية.

ويهدف الربنامج إىل تطوير و بناء قدرات طلبة املدارس والجامعات الحكومية، حيث يعدهم

لدخول سوق العمل بعد تخرجهم بخربات وإمكانيات أوسع، وذلك عن طريق مناهج موضوعة

خصيصاً لهذا الهدف، باإلضافة إىل تدريبات عملية. وتشمل تلك التدريبات النظرية و العلمية،

والبيئة، العمل، يف والريادة الصاعدة، املشاريع وبناء األموال، إدارة منها مختلفة مواضيع

باإلضافة إىل التدريب عىل التخطيط عىل املستوى الشخيص والعميل، كم يساعد املتطوعون

طالب املدارس يف التعلم العميل وإكتساب الخربات، ومهارات حل املشاكل والتواصل يف سوق

العمل.

و من خالل حفل الذي أقيم يف الرابع والعرشين من شهر يونيو، قامت مؤسسة "إنجاز مرص"

بتكريم أكرث من ٣٥٠ من املتطوعني من مختلف الرشكات. بدأت فعاليات إفتتاح الحفل بعرض

التجارب التى ملسها بعض طلبة "إنجاز مرص" الحاليني والسابقني. و كان من بينهم مصطفى

تدوير إعادة يف متخصصة رشكة وهي "ريسايكلوبيكيا"، لرشكة التنفيذي الرئيس حمدان،

وإستخدام املخلفات اإلليكرتونية. وألقى حمدان كلمة ملهمة عن بناء املشاريع الصغرية ودور

التجارب من عدد الخطاب ذلك وتىل "ريسايكلوبيكيا". رشكة ونجاح بناء يف مرص" "إنجاز

الحمسية األخرى من بعض املتطوعني، والتي عكست التأثري اإليجايب الذي تركته "إنجاز مرص"

عىل حياتهم الشخصية والعملية عىل حد سواء.

وقد تم تكريم ٢٧ رشكة ساهموا بالتطوع يف برامج إنجاز التدريبية، وتلقى كل متطوع شهادة

تقدير من كل من إنجاز مرص واألمم املتحدة تقديراً ملجهوداتهم ووقتهم.

وعن دور الشباب، علق أحمد أسامة، مدير فريق اإلختبارات "نحن نؤمن أن التعليم هو أهم

وأقيم إستثمر قد نقوم به، وبالتطوع والتعليم يف املدارس والجامعات، نحن نستثمر جهودنا يف

هؤالء الطلبة، واثقني أنهم سينجزون أشياء عظيمة يف املستقبل."

‘Wataneya Association for the Development of Orphanages" Earns International Edexcel Qualification"Wataneya Association for the Development of Orphanages" recently earned the first accredited vocational qualification in the field of childcare from the global organization Edexcel. It is the first association in the Middle East to have earned this prestigious certificate. The certificate was granted in recognition of the Association’s training program "Aman".

At a recent news conference, Azza Abdel Hamid, Chairman of "Wataneya Association for the Development of Orphanages" expressed her pride and happiness in the Association being granted this certificate. Azza considers the accreditation to be the first effective step towards solving problems facing institutional shelters for orphans, as well as an essential part of Wataneya’s plan to ameliorate the minimal quality standards in orphanages and institutional shelters currently in place. "Wataneya" aims at establishing quality standards and raising the efficiency of workers in orphanages, as well as instituting rules for vocational and professional work in the field of childcare. Azza also called on the community to unite in their efforts to care for and develop these children.

Matt Clark, Regional Director for Edexcel Middle East, explained that the organization, a subsidiary of Pearson, operates in 85 countries and provides academic and vocational qualifications and certificates, in addition to several testing services for thousands of schools, colleges and companies around the world. He added that, for the first time in the Middle East, the certificate "Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Nationals" in children’s care and development is being granted in order to reach eligible organizations and to assist in the creation of a suitable environment that caters to children’s needs and promotes their growth and development.

A team of experts consisting of Yosr Qotb, expert in the field of Education, Heba Qotb, Professor at the American University in Cairo, and Hassan Salah, Consultant in the field of Psychology and Childhood, were of the opinion that the most distinguishing feature of this certificate is its emphasis on the vocational application and development of knowledge, skills and behaviors. They maintain that the relevance and significance of this qualification is that it provides an integrated study and understanding of the different stages in child development from birth to 16 years of age.

It is important to note that the preparation for this accreditation started nearly two years prior to the Association receiving it. Currently, 18 trainees have started their instruction since February 2013, wherein the training period will last up to nine consecutive months. The trainees represent a number of service providers in various child care and orphanages in Egypt. Furthermore, coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity is underway to obtain both national and international accreditation.

Giza Systems supports "Wataneya Association for the Development of Orphanages" in their continuing efforts and commitment towards corporate social responsibility. Giza Systems had participated in the "Forsa" Program, whereby it assisted in the development and capacity-building of a number of participants in different fields. The "Forsa" program involves three phases throughout the year consisting of self-discovery, development and capacity-building. It is carried out by providing the participants with practical training on-site or conducting training in one of the various companies or associations supporting "Wataneya."

Giza Systems Announces the Launch of Diameter SignalingRoutersGiza Systems announced the launch of the Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) solution, which is essentially the signaling protocol for 3G and 4G networks. Next generation mobile networks utilize DSR on network interfaces to support a number of critical network functions including AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting). Diameter Signaling Router has now become a necessity to route and control all diameter traffic.

"Giza Systems aims at serving the vast market of mobile operators in the region, as operational trends are quickly shifting towards 4G, thus, creating a huge demand for this solution. The utilization of Diameter Signaling Routers is growing every day." stated Waleed Darwish, General Manager of Telecom OSS Line of Business. The Diameter Signaling Router creates a centralized core diameter signaling layer that relieves LTE and IMS endpoints of routing, traffic management and load balancing tasks, providing a single interconnect point to other networks. Each endpoint only needs one connection to a DSR in order to gain access to all other diameter destinations reachable by the DSR.

This approach eliminates the diameter/SCTP (or TCP) mesh that is created by having direct signaling connections between each network element.

Creating one or more SCTP hubs that centralize the SCTP connection to all end nodes simplifies interoperability between different network elements and enhances network scalability.

The architecture resulting from DSR, which reduces the cost and complexity of the core network, enables IP networks to grow incrementally to support increasing service and traffic demands. It also facilitates network monitoring by providing a centralized vantage point in the signaling network.

"Based on market intelligence generated by Exact Venture, the DSR market has witnessed tremendous growth in its first full year reaching

$90 M in product revenues in 2012, up from less than $10 M in 2011. The growth is staggering and the market for DSR is only just beginning," commented Shokry F. Abdel Azeez, Presales Manager, Telecom OSS.

The product is an innovative educational system that aims at enhancing communication between lecturers and attendees in a more interactive way.

"With IES hardware you can convert any ordinary surface – like a wall, for instance – into an interactive surface, which you can use as an interactive whiteboard with the help of IES software," explains Mohamed Samir, CEO of Interact. He elaborated, "It allows you to show and present all the data written on an ordinary board to all attendees’ laptops – through live streaming – synchronously with the voice of instructor. Furthermore, you can save the session as a video stream or PDF document. It helps attendees review their sessions in a number of ways that are more efficient than the traditional method."

The Intelligent Education System also provides a two-way communication system during the lecture, where attendees can post their questions and queries in real time. This allows the lecturer to respond and provide answers during the session, without having to interrupt the flow of the lecture or presentation. This approach makes the session much more interesting and enhances the levels of concentration and interaction for the audience, thus, overcoming common lecture and presentation issues even in the most crowded venues.

Designed at the lowest possible cost and utilizing the existing tools in presentation venues like the basic wall, projector and access point, the IES minimizes the cost of setting up the system in any lecture hall or meeting room.

The Interact team has completed their first prototype, which was tested and proven functional during several events and competitions. With plans for further research and development in the upcoming few months, Interact will be developing the final viable product and launching it for market testing, to be followed by work on a variety of derivatives of the same technology in the near future.

Being applicable at universities, schools, training centers, companies with conference and meeting halls, hotels with meeting facilities, and much more, the Intelligent Education System is expected to benefit a large market with minimal cost.
