Objective• Today we will write a friendly letter.

• There are 5 parts to a friendly letter.
• 1) The Heading
• 2) The Greeting
• 3) The Body
• 4) The Closing
• 5) The Signature
The Heading
• In a friendly letter, the
heading displays the date.
• Personal letters may
also include your address.

The Greeting
• The greeting consists
of the word Dear, which
is capitalized, followed by
the person’s name
and a comma.

The Closing
• In the closing of your
letter remember to
capitalize the first
letter and place a comma
after the last letter.
