The IPEC Batch Bio-Waste InactivationSystem (second from top) receiveswaste, and it sequentially fills one ofthree tanks. Once a high level set pointhas been reached in a tank, flow isautomatically directed to the nextavailable tank. The inactivation systemheats the contained waste in the tank,holds it at the inactivation temperaturefor a timed period, cools the waste to aset point and then discharges the wastefrom the system.

The IPEC Buffer Prep Super SkidSystem (top left) prepares buffers forvarious stages of processing, at the500-3,000 liter scale. The designincludes all vessels, agitators, ventfilters, and in-line mixers in additionto an access platform complete withstairs, material handling systems foreach in-line mixer and allinstrumentation and piping needed tooperate the system and meet userrequirements.

This IPEC turnkey Formulation andSterile Storage System (below) is thewet-end in front of a fill-line andconsists of 3 x 2000 liter and 2 x 300liter formulation tanks, 3 x 2000 litersterile storage tanks, 2 x 2-tank CIPsystems and (14) tank process/utilitypiping modules. The utility moduleswere designed and constructed to allowfor the addition of 6 x 2000 literformulation and sterile storage tanks inthe future.
IPEC's 3-module Formulation Plant isdesigned to receive totes of materialfermented at an overseas plant, andformulate customized mixtures to meetspecific customer requirements. Thesystem was designed to be moved toanother (remote) location near the end-user. base, once proof-of-concept wascompleted at a headquarters plant (topleft). The interior of this IPEC modularplant includes mass-flow meters, staticmixers, sanitary heat exchangers &instrumentation to make thecustom“cocktails” (top right).

HTST Systems are a popular choice for pasteurization of upstream solutions. They are designed to heat and hold product at a defined temperature and duration prior to cool down, in order to ensure complete inactivation ofmicroorganisms contained within solution. They can incorporate thermally efficient, continuous throughput designs, with the possibility of regenerative heating and cooling.

Eachtechnician has completed all OSHA-required training needed to completework tasks.
