• Show your students a model or example of what you expect from the assignment
• a task sheet is good but it’s not enough• give them a good example from last year or write a
model answer yourself (e.g. to a slightly different topic or question etc.)
• go through the model and mark it up to show the features you want students to use
• Practise writing with your students• first, you hold the whiteboard marker and have students
tell you what to write, then have them write, then let them try on their own
