Wash Safety Note: Wash steps should be done under proper ventilation. Use of personal protective

equipment is recommended.

1. Once print is complete, remove build platform from printer.

2. Remove appliances from build platform by snapping off each appliance by hand. Moderate pressure is required.

3. Break off fence supports from the appliance. Leave the bar supports in place. They will be removed after post-cure.

4. Add water to ultrasonication bath.

5. Place appliance pocket-down, if applicable, in a plastic container and wash with Isopropyl Alcohol (≥ 99% IPA) using a two-bath approach with fresh ≥ 99% IPA each time. Using an ultrasonication bath, wash for two (2) minutes (1st cycle), followed by one (1) minute (2nd cycle). Container should be closed when placed in the ultrasonication bath. Wash each appliance individually.

Caution: Prolonged exposure to ≥ 99% IPA could cause changes to physical properties of the appliance. Follow wash times carefully.

When washing bases with pockets, remove from fi rst bath cycle and use a wet brush (wet with ≥ 99% IPA) to ensure tooth pockets are clean of residual resin.

Caution: Residual resin in tooth pockets could aff ect fi t and bond.

When washing a try-in, remove from fi rst bath cycle and use a wet brush (wet with ≥ 99% IPA) to wash occlusal surface and interproximal of teeth.

Caution: Residual resin on occlusal surfaces could aff ect occlusion.

Note: If using an Orbital Shaker, perform washing for three (3) minutes (1st cycle) followed by two (2) minutes (2nd cycle).

5. Blow dry the appliance using compressed air to ensure all parts are thoroughly dried before moving to tooth fusing/bonding or try-in curing.

Q & A

What post-print wash systems should be used? • Lucitone Digital Print and Lucitone Digital Try-In appliances should be washed with

Isopropyl Alcohol, ≥ 99% (IPA), using an ultrasonication bath or orbital shaker. Follow the two-bath wash steps in the Lucitone Digital Print Denture Instructions for Use (IFU).

What impact would occur if the appliance remained in the Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) bath for longer than specifi ed in the IFU? • Prolonged exposure to isopropyl alcohol could cause changes in the physical properties of

the appliance.

Can more than one appliance be washed in the same container (ultrasonication)? • No, wash one appliance in a plastic container at a time to ensure residual resin is properly

removed.

What impact would result from not brushing the appliance tooth pockets with IPA prior to starting the second wash. • Residual resin in tooth pockets could aff ect fi t and bond. It is recommended to reprint the

appliance.

Why does the IPA need to be replaced after each wash cycle? • IPA may become “dirty” due to residual resin prohibiting the appliance from being

adequately cleaned. Dirty IPA may result in an impact on the fi t and bond.
