W.I.N.G.S…………..…….6:30 p.m. (1st Thursday of Each Month) Have you ever wanted to teach a Bible class but you were afraid that you didn't know enough or have enough time to prepare? Or maybe you didn’t even know where to begin when it came to preparing to teach a Bible class. I’m excited to announce that June 16-18 we will be having a 5 lesson seminar on how to be an effec- tive Bible class teacher. This seminar is for everyone, from the first time teacher to the 40+ year veteran. This program is called the “Teaching Rocket” seminar. I will lay out each part of this 5 lesson series to inform you on what to expect. Here is a quote from the website concerning the purpose of this seminar: “TEACH- ING ROCKET is a teachers’ training seminar for the local church designed to educate, equip, and empower Bible class teachers of all ages. It has been said, “As the Bible Class goes, so goes the church.” Whether it’s doctri- nal instruction, everyday life skills, or interpersonal connection and fellow- ship, a vibrant education program is vital to a vibrant church. Yet most churches provide little or no training for their teachers.” Session 1: The Goals of an Education Program. What exactly are we seeking to accomplish when we come together to study the Bible? This session explores the goals of a suc- cessful Bible class program—they might not be what you think!study the Bible? Session 2: Preparing & De- livering a Lesson. This session ex- plores a step-by-step process of de- veloping a lesson and tips for deliver- ing the lesson in a classroom setting. Session 3: Keys to Better Bible Study. Knowing how to study the Bible properly is essential to being a dynamic Bible teacher. This section discusses six Bible study habits that are guaranteed to generate material for your lesson. Session 4: Classroom Dy - namics. How does a teacher connect with students on an emotional and spiritual level? How can I come up with great discussion questions that rein- force the lesson? How do I handle the person who seems to always dominate the conversation? This session an- swers those questions and more. Session 5: The Teacher’s Spiritual Life. It’s important that teachers keep themselves spiritually fit in order to maximize their effective- ness over the long haul. Focusing on James 3:1, this session discusses the steps necessary for a teacher to maintain his or her spiritual integrity instead of falling victim to Satan’s schemes. This will be a tremendous op- portunity for all of us to grow as Bible class teachers. Please do your best to attend and to inform others about this great opportunity! -Cody

Roger Ellis is awaiting results from tests he had last week at the Naval Hospital.

James Paul was released from the hospital last week and he is also doing fine.

Eddie Scull’s ‘good leg’ will need a stent placed. They are wanting him to have the surgery a.s.a.p, so it will probably be some time this week.

Traci Thompson had surgery on Tuesday of last week and is now at home recovering. She is doing great. They thank you all for the prayers.

Stephanie Ard, Jonathan Ard’s wife, has officially been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The Ard’s are requesting prayers for the entire Ard family.

Lauren Blackmon, Sharon’s granddaughter in Or-lando, is still in a lot of pain following back surgery. She is trying not to take the pain pills she was given after surgery as they are so strong.
