WELCOME TO THE 2016 MARTINSBURG FARMERS MARKET!Our community recognizes that farmers markets are an integral part of the economical and physical health of a community.
Please join us as we launch a new market experience in Downtown Martinsburg. This season, the market will run from June through August on the Martinsburg Public Library plaza. The market will operate on Friday evenings from 4 pm - 7pm. Alongside the market, Main Street Martinsburg will once again offer their successful “Friday’s at Five” concert series.
These combined events are sure to make Martinsburg’s Town Square the place to be on Friday evenings!
The Burke Street Promise Neighborhood and our partners, Healthy Berkeley, Main Street Martinsburg and the Martinsburg Public Library will provide promotion via Social Media, Our Websites, weekly E-mail outreach, press releases, radio spots and ads in local papers.
Please complete the attached application and return it with your $50 payment by Friday, April 1st, 2016. We are looking forward to an exciting, successful year for the Market and hope your farm will join us.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTSThe Martinsburg Farmers Market is open to vendors of fruits, vegetables, plants, herbs, flowers, fibers, eggs and producers of baked goods, jellies, jams, honey and/or other approved products. West Virginia commercially produced jams, jellies, juices, or baked goods will be permitted. Apple Cider must be commercially produced according to State Law.
All vendors of processed food must comply with sanitary rules and regulations imposed by the Berkeley County Health Department and are responsible for obtaining the licenses and/or permits necessary to comply with town, country, and state regulations.
GENERAL RULES & INFO:• Business name of vendor must be prominently displayed.
• Provide a valid business license from the State of West Virginia
• Provide a valid business license from the City of Martinsburg ($15.00 yearly)
• Be prepared to pay B&O taxes to the City of Martinsburg. – A minimal B&O tax (.50 per $100.00) is collected by the city for sales of any commercially produced items such as jams, meats, baked goods, yarn etc... – There are NO B&O taxes on items that grow from the ground, such as apples, carrots, peaches, berries, greens, etc...
• Provide a copy of your Liability Insurance
• The Burke Street Promise Neighborhood, The City of Martinsburg, Main Street Martinsburg and our partners will not be held liable for any injuries or damages incurred at the market.
• Vendors must provide their own tables, chairs, canopy
• Vendors are responsible for their own area for set-up and clean up.
• Please participate every week. For your success and the success of the market, it is important consistently participate so that customers can get to know your products and look forward to shopping with you
