Diocese of Palm Beach

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:

In the Gospels we are challenged by the words, “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me” (Mt. 25:40). Sacred Scripture, from the Prophets to the Apostles, remind us to love and serve our brothers and sisters who form the Body of Christ, the Church here on earth.

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), under the auspices of the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops, attempts to address the problems faced by many of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Through education, community awareness and enrichment programs, CCHD seeks to address the problem of poverty in society. Our diocese will have a special collection the weekend of November 14 and 15 for the CCHD.

Twenty-five percent of your donations are kept in this diocese to fund local projects, and the remaining 75% goes to the CCHD national office to support anti-poverty initiatives across the United States. CCHD’s grants improve education, support economic development, and create affordable housing in low-income neighborhoods. T ogether, as a family of faith, may we joyfully strive to assist our least brothers and sisters and so give glory to our God. May God always bless you and your families with every grace and peace.

With gratitude for your continued generosity and every prayerful wish, I am

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Most Reverend Gerald M. BarbaritoBishop of Palm Beach
